About time Haslam did something good for the gun-supporting constituents. http://www.knoxnews.com/news/local-news/gov-signs-gunsinparks-bill-into-law_94739792

I am still trying to figure out how the person taking the video, even after the shooting, seemed to be able to get relatively close to the two officers. Why did the officers not notice the person taking the video and immediately try to secure them. In the video it seems the officers don't even notice the person taking the video. Seemed weird to me the first time I watched it. But, agree, running away, multiple shots in the back, not good.

I think for the constant glow you are looking for. . .that is tritium. And, to my knowledge, the only color offering is still green.

and I assume that they can search my vehicle any time they desire? OR do they need some type of cause?

just for clarification, if a private company states they prohibit firearms on the property and they define property as the parking lot, etc. . .does this law override that? I realize that the gun would not be allowed inside the building.

I just today hit the 6 month mark, so I can wait it out a few more and wait to see if I get the form. Otherwise, I will go the mail route. I hate going to any DL station.
-
So I hear that the great state of TN will mail out an HCP renewal form to you when it is time to renew. At what point before my expiration date should I expect the form? If I don't get it, then I should just call and get the form and renew by mail. Not sure if I can go to a DL station in Knoxville to renew. If so, which one in Knox does these renewals.

I just visited as well. They have the largest selection of rental pistols of any place I have seen. The one thing that sets them apart is their range is not just for pistol caliber weapons. They have a large assortment of AR and other long guns to rent, some chambered in 223/5.56 and other larger calibers. Store is huge, and everything is well spaced out. Very good selection of items. Only one negative comment, the way they display their pistols on the wall hanging. 1--since they are behind the sales counter, you can't see them as well as you would if they were in a case. 2--they are not in any type of order, not by manufacturers, caliber, anything. . .so it takes a while to looks through everything to find what you are looking for. . .seems weird that not all the same brand are grouped together.

also check out Suarez Intl. They offer roaming classes in Chatt, Knox, and other areas. One of their Tier 1 Instructors was here just a weekend ago and we worked on some close quarters gunfighting skills. Either check out their website or contact "Cruel Hand Luke" personally.

Randy. . .great day of training. Very informative how you called out the differences in techniques between IDPA/IPSC and this very real-world tactical training. It was good knowledge to add to my toolbox. Price also was quite a bargain, IMO, for what we got. Thanks to all for putting this together. -

anything special we need to know about the location. I mean does standard GPS or MapQuest get us where we need to go? other than that, I think I am good to go. -

Best recommendation for female friendly HCP class
sschrick replied to dwatts1984's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
check out this link. It if offered in partnership with Bass Pro Shops, which is about 30 minutes east of downtown Knoxville. Free for the ladies. I have heard good things about it. http://www.shootingforwomenalliance.com/bassproccc.html also, check out this female shooting organization that partners with a West Knox Gun Shop/indoor range. http://www.aphroditeshooters.com/ -
anyone have any feedback on this? how does this course stack up against some of the Suarez courses taught by Randy. Or maybe some of the courses previously taught at Coal Creek (or now the new TAC) They are offering this at Pellissippi State Comm College over the summer and was not sure about it.

I thought that guy was killed. not just knocked out or choked out. Hmm, not sure now.

had that "duh" moment last night. But, can't remember from the episodes where Rick ran into them in the house and escaped, did any of them see Rick (or Carl, Michone) to know what he looks like? I can't recall.

gonna throw my $0.02 in the ring. Newbie in the bourbon/whiskey world but coming up fast. a few of my favorites are: Knob Creek--both standard 9 yr. small batch and single barrel Woodford Reserve Maker's 46 gonna soon try some Angel's Envy, 1792, Bowman's, Basil Haydens and a few others I got my eye on. FWIW. . .I also enjoy JD (Gentleman Jack), George Dickel (white label), Bulleit Bourbon is OK as well as basic Maker's Mark.
