  1.   I think what you say here is similar to what I was thinking, only you stated it in a much more concise and eloquent way.
  2.   If this is the case then it would seem DHS made a logic error ... ALL terrorists having fake Gucci bags does not imply ALL fake Gucci bag owners are terrorists.   Then again, its a government agency.  I shouldn't even mention the word "logic" in this discussion .... or anywhere near it ....  my bad ... carry on.   (LOL) - sorry ... severe lack of sleep this week ...
  3. At one level, I think we all have the right to "live" ... therefore, if someone steps up and tries to take this away from you, you have a right to defend yourself.  Just because we are here and "living" is the main thing we all do (until we die that is).   I see this as a basic human right ... if you believe in a Creator, then it was given to you by Him because He put us here for whatever reason(s) He chose.  If you do not believe in a creator, then it's just part of why we are here, which without a creator, who knows  ... we are just floating around on this 3rd rock from the sun, and everyone has a right to "be alive" as long as that right doesn't infringe upon another human's right.     Where is this line crossed?  If food is scarce in a post-apocalyptic world, does someone stealing from your garden constitute an attempt on your life?  I think many of us would say yes.  However, the thief was also possibly trying to exercise his right to live assuming he was starving at the time.   What about the way things are now in our current society?  Obviously legally you can't shoot a thief, and I would argue that in our current situation, food is relatively easy to come by, so therefore it's not really an infringement on your right to "live" if someone takes some food from you.   Not sure I'm exactly explaining myself, but you posed a good question and I thought I would try to add my $.02 or (at least $.01).   (And this is all a hypothetical argument, I'm not endorsing or suggesting we start shooting thieves).   In summary, I think certain rights are endowed on us because we are creatures on this planet, and you shouldn't have to do anything to claim them.    Good post to get me thinking in the morning.  Thanks.
  4. I got a letter yesterday saying I was grandfathered in for my BCBS single person plan (See?? Obama was right, I get to keep my plan!).  I'm just waiting for the letter that says my monthly premium is gonna double ... I *hope* I'm wrong ... but I have a feeling I'll get shafted somehow before this is all over.
  5. Nice guns there!!!  Your AR looks to be set up exactly like mine, except I have an Aimpoint PRO I just put on mine a couple weeks back.  I did a double take and was like "Why is there a pic of my AR on the forums!?!?!" haha. One of these days I'll have an AK to go along with it.
  6. Just a few more weeks of classes for me and I'll probably be joining the party on Xbox.  Still not sure I'm gonna buy it ... but yeah ... I probably will.  Since I'm already thinking this much about it ...   Stupid work getting in the way of gaming ... (work that pays for the games ... its a vicious cycle).

    Season 4

IIRC It's what OS said, only about 200ish were real people, and the rest were CGI.  They said its also very difficult to tell where the real people end and where the CGI begins.  I haven't gone back to really look yet.  The producer also said even though she wasn't there that she guesses they had about 4 hours to film that scene with the mega horde.   Also yeah, this week's episode of talking dead was hard to watch.  I didn't watch it all at once LOL.

    Season 4

Lol, it's amazing that we haven't had any posts about Sunday's episode.  (or maybe not so amazing).   I'll get things started ...    ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz .........   Honestly, I dug the episode overall, and I can see they are just trying to set things up for future episodes.  The Mega-Horde was kinda cool too.  Once people start turning in the quarantine room, things will get interesting too.  I think they (the show) are just getting warmed up.  So what I'm saying is I'm optimistic that things are gonna go south real quick for our band of survivors, which means more action, which I like.   I can still say this about TWD, it's my most anticipated show each week.  However, that being said, my anticipation for each episode this season has been way lower than for last season.   Edit: I'm just here killing time when I should be working ... better get back to work so I can go to lunch.

    Season 4

I was happy with the episode.  I thought the scenes at the store were great.  We have a bunch of new red shirts to kill off as well, so that should be exciting.     I think it had to start kinda slow to introduce the new characters and show the "new" life everyone was hanging on to at the prison.
  10. I wish I had more to add, but all I can say is I have 2 M1's that my Grandfather gave to me, and they are a TON of fun.  You won't regret getting one!  (I honestly couldn't even tell you who made the ones I have ...).   So like I said, all I can really add is you'll love the M1 Carbine.
  11. I did my first build a year ago, and I went ahead and picked up this tool while ordering my punches. Also used it to help a friend build his lower. Worked as advertised.
  12. You're not paranoid if they're really after you.
  13.   I love my MK1 - it was my first firearm purchase and I've had a lot of fun with it.  You won't be disappointed.  It also helps me feel safe at night next to my bed :)
  14. Thanks for the heads up ... some really good prices.   I'm not sure I've seen ALL of the lethal weapon movies, but for $2.50 a piece you can't really go wrong.  I've enjoyed what I've seen of them.  (I can't be sure I've seen every bit of all of them because a lot of times I would catch part of one of the movies on TBS or something ... so I wouldn't always see from the very start or I wouldn't finish because of commercials - get distracted and change channels).
  15. Grats!!! Seems like a great trade to me. I would be happy with that.
  16. Welcome to the boards!! There is a lot to learn here for sure!  I'm a local musician in the area and I keep a Gen 4 Glock 26 as my constant companion.   Again, WELCOME!!
  17. Well I personally went with the FNH SLP (8+1 gas operated semi-auto), but I had really wanted the Benelli M4.  I couldn't find the M4 at the time, and the SLP was a bit cheaper ($500 cheaper).  I have not been disappointed.  However, one day I will have the Benelli as well.   Come to think of it ... the SLP was my FIRST gun purchase ever.  Was a birthday present to myself.
  18. My brother got his nose broken breaking up a fight at school. He was a middle school teacher.
  19.   I honestly don't remember for sure, I probably had not shot the gun for about 6 months before I made these two targets a few weeks ago.  I don't recall getting quite this tight of groups before, but then again there's a lot of variables not shooting from a rest.  I have two bad habits, I jerk the trigger, and I react to the recoil.  I wish my grandpa had started me on a .22 pistol instead of a .45 1911 LOL.  I developed some bad habits early.   I don't think I own a gun that I shoot to its full potential tho, and I've never actually sat down on a rest to really really see how good I can make any of my pistols group.  I think if the shooter does his part, the SR1911 will shoot as good as you need it to out of the box as far as triggers go because it does have a real nice trigger out of the box IMO.  I was headed up to predator custom anyway to get some repairs on my Kimber Ultra TLE II, so I decided to get the work done on the SR1911 while I was making the trip.  Also, I don't have any higher end 1911's to really compare the trigger to, and I don't have a gauge to measure the pull weight.   I think I remember the guy at Predator (I think it was 3GunDave from the boards here) said that this was as good as the trigger could be without replacing any parts, and he seemed really impressed as well with how the trigger turned out.   About all I can say for sure is I am very happy with the gun the way it is now (except I might put some slim VZ grips on it), and the trigger feels like it has a crisper break to me.
  20. Congrats!!! I just finished a master's degree in computer science last summer.  It took me I think 7 years, lol ... it was a real good feeling to not have homework / exams to think about though.
  21. This link says there was no carrington-class flare a few weeks ago ....    http://spaceweather.com   Who knows, you can't believe anything you read anymore ... no one is accountable for what they print on the interwebz.  (I don't even trust what I'm typing right now).
  22. Welcome to the forums!   I lived in Hendersonville in 2001-2002, it was a real nice place.  The bad part was I had to commute to clarksville 5 days a week for work, LOL.   Yeah, carrying is definitely an adjustment, but as you said well worth it.  I only recently got a good gun belt so that's my piece of advice.  Get a good belt / holster if you don't have one yet.  I've been using one of the 5.11 nylon (with plastic insert) belts and it changed everything for the better.   Have fun on the wally walk!
  23. Hey guys, I would like to give a shout out to predator custom for the fast and AWESOME work they did on my SR1911. I got a smooth trigger job on this gun, and I just finally was able to get to the range to give it a shot. I was told it would be 3 weeks, when I dropped off my gun on a Saturday. It was ready in just 4 days on Tuesday. (I also got a smooth trigger job on my Kimber, and a broken ejector fixed, but I haven't fired the Kimber yet so I'll save that review for later). As soon as I get the $$ together I'm going to add some VZ grips to the gun. Without further ado, here are my targets from the Range. 10 shots fired per target, target on left at 3 yards, and target on right at 7 yards. These are the first shots I took with the gun once I got it back, no warm up :) In the first target I jerked the trigger pretty bad, and anticipated the recoil on that one low hole as you can see, but don't worry about that little guy. On the 7 yard target I feel like I was slightly jerking the trigger consistently to group left. These shots were taken standing, no rest, at Shooter's Depot. Very happy with Predator Custom and with my 1911. This one is a keeper and I will be giving more work to Predator.
