  1. I love my friend's sig p 220.  I recently purchased a sig p226.  I think you'll be happy with the gun as long as you're ok with the whole DA/SA thing.

    Wasps!

I was walking under the deck a couple years ago and one dive bombed me and stung me at the base of the skull on the back of my neck.  That was that little guy's last action in this world, I promise you that ... but man did it sting (pun intended!!!).   This year I killed a wasp and tore down his nest under the deck (I used a shovel ... was the 'best' tool I had handy at the moment).
  3.   Is it this one??  http://www.concealedcomfort.com I looked at that one when I was first looking for a holster to start carrying.  I'm a large guy (you could say fat, lol), so I was unsure about traditional IWB at the time.  Now I use a IWB Kholster (supertuck clone) or OWB with the glock combat sport holster.  I never gave the cell pal a try, just watched the videos and thought about it.
  4. I thought this might be some kind of joke when I clicked the thread .... I was pleasantly surprised!!! Nice rifle!!
  5. I'm gonna try really hard to win this time.
  6. I haven't done this yet on my glock 21c, but I plan to. To echo what Garufa said, I don't see why not.
  7. I think caster said this to some guy in his shop who's son noticed caster was carrying. Edit: here's the story I was thinking of, don't know if its the same as you were thinking. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/65059-yuppie-came-in-the-shop-today/
  8. I did not get to meet David but I purchased from his table. This was my first reloading component purchase and the young lady that helped me was very knowledgable. I now have components to reload 1 k 9 mm and 500 .45 (minus lg pistol primers). I can't wait to get my first rounds reloaded. I also dropped by Predator Custom on the way up to the show, and I left 2 of my 1911's with them to get a trigger job. All and all, I think I had a good day. Thanks again to David, and thank you to Predator Custom.
  9. I'm planning to make the drive up from Ooltewah to buy some reloading supplies from dlm37015. This will be components for my very first reloads ever! I'm so pumped to finally be getting into reloading.
  10. Happy birthday!!! I'm about 6 years behind ya!
  11. I did not know this. You've already educated at least one more person. (Me!)

    TV Woes

My Vizio screen started flickering across the entire screen, and my research turned up that it could be blown capacitors. Sometimes (I'm not sure if always) a blown capacitor will be poofed up on the top. This allowed me to find 3 capacitors next to each other that were blown. I replaced these 3 capacitors with parts from the local electronics store (Shields off Hwy153 in chattanooga) and that fixed the problem. My overall point is sometimes you can visually see a blown capacitor. If you have the soldering skills you can then replace said capacitors. Good luck!!!
  13. Yeah I love the new format ... I think this is gonna be a great season of top shot .... let me rephrase ... the best season. Although S1 didn't have nearly the amount of drama of the later seasons IIRC. I could see any one of them taking the prize this season. I was not shocked at all by the 1st person eliminated (not naming him just so I don't spoil it for those who haven't seen ep 1 yet). Here's a link to upcoming show times: http://www.history.com/shows/top-shot/episodes Per the link you can catch S5ep1 at Upcoming Airings: June 04, 2013 - 11:02-12:01AM ET June 05, 2013 - 03:03-04:02AM ET
  14. Great news indeed! Thanks for sharing this story. It's good to hear when LEO do a great job in a tough situation. All too often it only gets reported when they make a mistake.
  15. Yes Robert, I agree with your points. (And OS). As a faculty member even keeping a firearm in my car was simply out of the question previously because it was illegal (with a loaded firearm anyway). At the very least with this new law, I can keep a loaded firearm in my vehicle. I *might* be willing to risk a job over policy, that's a question I will have to answer for myself, and I won't post my decision on a public forum. I can guarantee that I was never willing to risk prosecution before this law takes effect.
  16. Thanks OS, I realize you can still be fired for having a weapon in your car on campus (or if your face looks funny, or if they just wanna fire somone that day, or if you refuse to let them search your vehicle). I also realize one can be fired for no reason at all. I'm just glad there won't be legal repercussions in addition to losing a job. An individual could find another job easier than finding another job and dealing with a legal battle. (Although I suppose the employer could also bring a lawsuit against you ... since anyone can sue for just about anything it seems these days).
  17. I figured this would be the case ...    At the least it is a very small step in the right direction ... I see this as the government kind of getting out of the way which is the way it needs to be.  If you have a gun in your car in a parking lot it will no longer be a legal issue.  It will be between you and the property owner / employer.  If they find you have a gun, they can ask you to leave or fire you or whatever.  But before the parking lot bill, in addition to losing your job you could also be charged for carrying past a sign.  As I understand it, after July 1 you can no longer be charged.   So does anyone know, does this also apply to school property for school employees?  Or are schools exempt from the new parking lot bill? (AFAIK school employees could already leave a weapon locked in the car if it was unloaded, and ammo separate from gun).
  18. Ooltewah Walmart had some .40 and some .45 WWB as of 3:30 this afternoon.
  19. Well actually according to the 2nd amendment the magazine ban should have never even been brought up. But I agree gun owners got f'd.
  20. I was at a cyber security conference in January and they many times spoke of the threat coming from china.
  21. Love it!!!! Short, sweet, and right to the point. Awesome how she points out that her safety is her responsibility.
  22. http://gunwebsites.net/2011/09/16/ar15-zero-introduction/ This is a pretty good explanation of zeroes I found the other day. There's also a PDF you can download of the slides from the video.
  23. Carter's on hwy 58 has a range. I've never been, so don't know more than that. Volunteer ordnance works in Cleveland has a new range. Again I never have used it, so I have no other info. I've made some purchases in the store and they seem to be good guys, but that was over a year ago. I believe there is(was) a range on Hixson Pike near Coverdale road(?). Never been there. If you buy a year membership at shooters, for $165, and shoot at least 10x thru the year, it's $.16.50 per trip ... Pretty sure it's unlimited shoot time. Im a member there, only reason I know a bit more about them.
  24. Welcome to the site! I don't know of any matches but I do love my m1 carbines.
