  1. This is the exact point I've made to many of my friends. I didn't say it quite so eloquently, however. It's all about personal responsibility for your safety.
  2. I ran across this article that's goes into a bit of detail on the bitcoin. http://phys.org/news/2013-04-bitcoin-virtual-currency-soars.html
  3. Good post. And your comment about Andrea and the safety is spot on IMO. Exactly what I was thinking.
  4. This x1000. Let me preface this by saying I earned a masters degree in jazz studies from the university of new Orleans. I certainly don't know it all, but I think I have some good insight on this topic. I currently teach jazz guitar and bass lessons as well. The other side of learning to improise is transcription. Copy by ear off of recordings cool ideas from other soloists. Use your knowledge of scales to understand why the licks work, and then expand these ideas to be your own. (add notes, change rhythms, learn the lick in a new key, change the lick from minor to major, find new chords the lick works on). Play along tracks are great. I like to start students with one chord repeated for several measures -- it's the first step towards using lots of scales over lots of chords. iReal b is a great app for creating your own play alongs, although it is more geared toward jazz. You just type in the chords you want, and the app plays bass, piano, and drums in a style of rock, bossa, or swing( you can buy other styles). In summary 1) practice scales 2) transcribe and digest other instrumentalist's licks 3) play alongs (start simple, pick one chord to solo over). (step 3 should combine elements of 1 and 2)
  5. The scene with the match was filmed looking at a mirror. I don't recall any other places where it was on the wrong side although there could be.
  6. They do the glock safety thing in ep 1 (that's the one that stands out to me, don't recall others). At the road block pre apocalypse, Rick tells one of the other officers to make sure a round is in the chamber and the safety is off. You hear the "click" of the glock safety ... Lol. Also when he checks the chamber it looks pretty empty but it's hard to see for sure from the camera angle.
  7. Another vote here for shooters depot. Ron taught my class. The other instructor they have is also very good from what I hear. (can't remember his name but it's on the shooters depot web site).
  8. Good for the momma!!! Also it made me smile seeing her show the gun at the end with her finger off the trigger!! Score again for responsible gun owners! Even when at home with my shotgun close at hand, I always keep an LCP (or something bigger) on my person. Don't want to be caught with my pants down (literally!) and my personal defense weapon in another room.
  9. I am usually carrying a $1000+ guitar, and a $500 iPad while I'm on campus. In that sense I am transporting money. I am also on the job. I'm just trying to clarify the situation. The school's money (and other peoples money in the truck) can be protected while on campus, but my life does not get that same protection. Sure, if I don't like it I don't have to work there, and I can find a new job. That doesn't make the situation "right" though.
  10. Yeah this really grinds my gears that the brinks security guys come pick up money at chatt state and are armed. Yet I am not allowed to arm myself because I'm not protecting the school's money.
  11. I set my DVR to record it.  Looks like it might be interesting.
  12. I played through it on Xbox ... Really dig it. I plan on doing it again and see if I make some different choices. I also got kinda stuck a few times when I just couldn't fine that one clue I needed to move on. Hopefully this time I won't get hung up like that.
  13. Lol I was just thinking today that someone would come up with a scanner to detect concealed guns pretty soon.
  14. Well I can't imagine why anyone would need more than 7 rounds ..... Seems fair to me. I'm sure the criminals will only have 7 rounds too so it should create and even playing field. /sarcasm
  15. You still have to pay a $200 tax stamp and submit paper work to the ATF for this oil can suppressor correct?
  16. I wish I could articulate the situation as well as this guy just did. +1000000 to this video.
  17. Very good. Rational discussion ... I love how the interviewer got so flustered when he found out Keith Morgan was armed. LOL.
  18. A friend of mine was in Carter's Shooting Supply the other day and the salesperson in there told him that they had police officers coming in buying up ammo for their departments. Demand suddenly went WAY up and supply did not (so it seems) ... until supply goes up or demand goes down it may be like this for a while.
  19. There just aren't words to describe how horrible this is... Thoughts and prayers to those affected .... I'm gonna go hug my loved ones.
  20. I love the EPB fiber here in chatt, but it is a little more than you've been paying. Of course you get more for the $$ too, it's 50mbps up/down. I don't know if/when it is/ will be available in Cleveland. https://epbfi.com/ The on demand tv selection seems less than comcast, but the Internet blows Comcast out of the water. And maybe you've already checked and it's not available, hehe.
