  1. I was listening to a radio show, and if the winner of the $1.5 billion lived in New York City and took the lump sum option, they would walk away with a tad over $500 million, after taxes.
  2. Have you considered venturing into the world of folders?
  3. How do two boats break down at the same time, far enough away from help, that close to Iranian waters? Something sounds fishy to me.
  4. If I were fortunate enough to win that kind of jackpot, my main focus would be on setting up several no-kill animal shelters all over the country. Then I'd gladly pay off politicians to pass much stricter laws pertaining to animal abuse.
  5. I know just about nothing related to IT, but I got a few chuckles from reading this thread. I know a guy who took online classes to become something in the IT field, and has managed to fake his way through it for the last few years. I was surprised to find out that he is still employed, considering his wife did quite a bit of the online work for him.
  6. Me too, but I caved last week and bought two of 'em.
  7. A Glock extended slide stop/release is also a must. It doesn't look like it would make much of a difference, but it sure does. http://www.brownells.com/handgun-parts/frame-parts/slide-catch-parts/slide-catches/extended-slide-stop-levers-prod23432.aspx
  8. I'm guessing the fear of someone stealing thier ideas outweigh the need for adequate R&D.
  9. Am I the only one who's wondering if some of these manufacturers ignore research and development? How can a firearm reach the manufacturing process with so many obvious flaws?
  10. I had no idea he was battling cancer. RIP.
  11. I'm thankful for my $50/year membership at Gallatin Gun Club. Even during the winter months, I can usually find a couple days each month that are warm enough to go shooting.
  12. I really just need one camera that allows for live view and downloads video to the cloud. The image quality doesn't even have to be superb. Sadly, this is mainly to make sure my daughter is home alone when she's supposed to be.
  13. According to the recent video of Hickok45 and his son explaining the situation, he stated that they do in fact profit off of the videos.
  14. Based on the video that Hickok45 and his son posted within the last couple days, they were not at all happy about people posting their real names. He reminded those folks that he and his son have good memories. While it probably wasn't impossibly to find his name online a week ago, I could see why he's upset that some rather prominent folks in the world of guns decided to make his real names even more public. They just made it that much easier for some scumbags to find out where he lives. However, to a certain degree, I guess that's one of the prices you pay for being famous.
  15. This one looks like it may be worth comparing to the Nest Cam. At first glance, both cameras are $199, the Stick Up Cam is completely wireless, and the storage is $7/month cheaper. I'll dig a little deeper.
  16. I made the mistake of relying on Comcast email for EVERYTHING. I didn't consider what would happen if I were to ever leave Comcast. Well, that happened, and it was a nightmare. Once I canceled my service, Comcast let me continue using my email for what I belive was a couple months. I used that time to switch EVERYTHING to Gmail. Talk about a pain.
  17. I'll take a look at their offerings, but I'd rather the recording/storage be off-camera. Some sort of cloud storage. TGO David's suggestion offers $10/month storage, which would be pretty nice.
  18. I'm thinking about getting an indoor WiFi camera that I can set on my mantel or end table. I'd like to have the ability to view from my phone, and possibly record (off-camera) at least a days worth of footage. I'd like the footage to be in color, and IR isn't all that important. Has anyone tried anything like this? Any suggestions?
