  1. No arguement from me - sounds like we are on the same page. This has potential for massive scientific gains. It could be a waste of large amounts of money. I guess its possible it could cause the end of the world. The actual benefit won't be know for some time. If we already knew the results, they wouldn't be called experiments. Or, as a friend of mine likes to say: if we knew what we were doing, it wouldn't be research.
  2. There is the chance that it will unlock very, very little of scientific significance. Not downplaying the importance of science at all, but this device could end up being a huge waste of money. It all depends on the scientific returns we get from the thing - actually get not what someone is expecting to discover.
  3. I'd much prefer Casada and Harwell represents my district. Naifeh pulled some real shenanigans to prevent gun bills from getting out of committee. He knew if they made the house floor, they would have easily passed. The process and procedures in the house allowed him to kill them in committee.
  4. Just always stay in 'gun free zones'. Nothing bad ever happens in one of them.
  5. For your sake, I hope people don't stop arguing on the internet... cause that would certainly hurt.
  6. There is this guy named Daniel that works in the Greenbriar shop that is always causing me trouble... I stopped by the store last week. Nice place - I commented to Dennis about the 'roominess'. He mentioned that he was working on filling up some of the open space. I did see some familiar faces along with some new blood. It may be in Hendersonville, but its still Guns and Leather. At least to me, that's a good thing except for my checking account!
  7. No, he just never goes anywhere where he might need a gun! You could use the same argument for car insurance: just don't drive anywhere you might get in a wreck and you don't need it.

    S&W 442

Ah, the joys of a j-frame! I don't like +P in my 442 at all - its just not fun. Now, if the time comes and I have to use it, I'll deal with the pain. Until then, its regular .38 loads for me. I try to practice with my j-frame enough to where I'm confident I'm proficient with it if I ever need it in a self defense situation. But otherwise, I have other handguns that are way more fun on the range.
  9. I always cover up the serial number when I post pics online. Usually I'm posting pics when trying to trade or sell a firearm. Even if I didn't care about posting the s/n, the person that I'm doing business with might. Doesn't hurt to hide and it only takes a couple of minutes to blur it out. Modern image editing software makes life easy. I can't think of a good reason not to hide the s/n.
  10. Jeeps can be more expensive than guns!
  11. A quick word about lift kits, since someone mentioned them: if you're going to drive on the road and want to lift your Jeep, go with Old Man Emu. They ain't cheap but you'll save the $$$ you'll spend on the cheap lift kit when you replace it later on. Ask me how I know...
  12. I've got a 2000 TJ that I drive every day. I'd rather be in my Jeep than drive my wife's CRV. As for driving in snow, my experience is the Jeep will go just about anywhere. They have a short wheel base, so you have to be careful - if they decided to get sideways you are probably going all the way around. Take your time, go slow, and you shouldn't have any problem in the snow. Do plenty of research before you buy one. There are differences between the YJ (82?-95), TJ(96-06), and JK (07-up). Each model has its own almost religious following.
  13. I looked at one of these this weekend (NIB). It was priced at $1019 - which seemed like a pretty good deal compared to what they are going for on gunbroker. Of course, it was way too high compared to your deal.
  14. I can only image his surprise. I do need to hear this story, hopefully when I have a chance to see this new longslide. I hope you are buying lottery tickets - your luck couldn't be much better! BTW, I ran across another Sport King at a recent gun show - just like yours. Only they were asking $375 for it...
  15. : Did you give the guy a cigarette? How come you always find the good deals? I'll let you make $25 if you wanna get rid of it... I know you've been looking at a longslide for awhile. I'm glad you found a good one at such a steal of a price.
  16. I'll second the Steyr. I've got one of the straight pulls - they are carbine length with a steel butt plate. Neat piece of engineering but not alot of fun to shoot all day.
  17. Listen to Wayne. You may never get to the point that the CZ is the limiting factor in your accuracy. Most of my guns are more accurate than I am.
  18. But the metal detector would be bad for business. It would make the sheeple afraid. Putting the little gunbusters sticker on the door makes everyone 'feel' better. We all know that is the useful extent of the posting.
  19. NNNNoooooo!!! Someone tell me wrasslin is real! Well, even knowing WWE is rigged/fake/etc. I like to believe it is more real than politics. Harwell is my rep, so I don't think calling her would do me any good. She seems to ignore all correspondence that she doesn't agree with anyway - at least that has been my experience with her.
  20. I'd call and email my rep, but I don't think it would do any good: Beth Harwell is my district's rep. She is no friend of the 2A. Maybe I should email/call everyone else's rep!
  21. The only advantage to calling (at least IMO) is you find out about any issues earlier. I agree that its best to just let the system work - calling every week only bugs the poor people that answer the phones at the ATF.
  22. Mine took about a month to go pending - this past summer. You should see the check cashed in a few days and then (probably) 3 to 4 weeks later it will go pending. I'd wait a couple of months from the time you send it until you call to check the status.
  23. For those of us in Bellevue, which restaurant? I want to make sure I avoid any gun-toting cooks! Just kidding - we need all the good guys packing that we can get. Congrats on the job!
  24. Wait, software failed? Say it ain't so! Good detective work David. Glad you figured the problem out. I hate it when something I've written has those 'I can't reproduce it no matter what' bugs.
