  1. Power went out at around 5:30 this morning, temp was -2. I got up and fired the gas logs up and got back under the covers. Trucks weren't able to get here til 8. They were out there about 15 min. and left. Still no power. I called about 30 minutes later to see if they knew anything, went to get parts, ect. The lady said my power was restored a little after 8.   Uhhhh, no it wasn't. Yes, it was......   I thought I was in 3rd grade again for a minute. Anyway I finally got through to her that the power was still off and she said a truck would be right there. She didn't lie. A truck pulled up right after we hung up and fixed the problem. I talked to a couple of the guys and they said they'd been out since 5AM yesterday.   Thanks to all who have to work in this kind of weather and freeze their butts off to make sure things work!!
  2. I've got a few from Streamlight, Surefire, Fenix...but I like my Ultra Fires too. I put that same model on a Mossy 500 to see how it would hold up. I only ran about 100 rounds with it mounted but it held up just fine. To be honest I was surprised it didn't fail. I put a Fenix TK15 (I think that's the model) with a pressure switch on it that works great but I'm wanting to get a Surefire forend.
  3. It was 39 and snowing at 5AM. By 7 it was 20 and everything had iced over. Down to 15 now but the roads around here are clear for the most part.   When I let the dog out for his 1st wizz of the day he went out the door at his normal speed of about 150 mph. I tried to slow him down but it was too late. He hit the ice on the driveway and the wreck started. For a moment he looked like he had 10 legs and 3 buttholes but he managed to correct the spin and stay upright. Pretty damn good driving on his part. Then he froze. I yelled my head off but he just stood there with a come and carry my ass back inside look in his eyes. So of course I went out and carried him back in. He's not got within 10 feet of the door since then. I've laughed all morning about it.
  4. I found one cover. The other one got wrapped with pipe insulation, a foam car washing mitt, couple plastic bags and half a roll of duct tape.
  5. Damn....I forgot to cover my outdoor spigots. Better go rig something up.
  6. It's went from 50 back up to 52 over the last 30 min. No rain yet. Temps will probably start taking a nose dive any minute.
  7. Still waiting on the Mini Scabbard but the Talon pocket holster showed up yesterday. Reinforced top and the leather on the body is rough side out to keep it from moving around. It's a lot more comfortable than the Don Hume and the pocket hook works better. I was a little concerned about how much trigger was exposed but I've tried and can't get my finger on it when the gun is holstered and in my pocket. Also, it's got a molded notch that the safety sits in. It makes it really hard, but not impossible, to accidentally flip the safety off.
  8. Didn't know if any Shield owners here had heard about these yet, or are even interested, but Pearce is making a grip extension for Shields now. I've got one ordered to try on one of my 7 rounders. http://www.pearcegrip.com/Products/Smith%20&%20Wesson/PG-MPS
  9. I went ahead and ordered a Mini Scabbard for it. I like the one I have for my Shield and the price is hard to beat.
  10. I like to have my carry options covered with all my guns. I've already got a Don Hume 715 IWB and a 001 pocket holster for it and a Talon pocket holster on the way. (the Hume pocket holster is brown and I don't like brown holsters. I don't care if it's in my pocket and out of sight, I don't like brown holsters.) I probably won't be carrying the Sig OWB much, if at all, but my rules say I have to have one so dammit I have to get one.   I want it to be as small as possible and ride close to my body. I've got a Desantis Mini Scabbard for my Shield and it's the one I'm thinking about for the P238. Another is a kydex from PJ Holsters. I was hoping I could get by with the one that came with it. It has good retention but the gun rides high in it and wants to roll over/away from my body regardless of the belt.   Anybody using one that you really like?? I'm sure I've looked over some that are on the market. And Happy New Year TGO!!
  11. These came from A2 Stippling.
  12. Fantastic job!
  13. I'd told a friend of mine about the stippled parts you could get for M&P's. He ordered a set for his and really liked them. This morning he brought me a set for mine in Coyote. I put them on and then broke out the tactical crayon for the paint fill.
  14. I was there Friday. Plenty of idiots were paying those prices on .22. I was looking for some .380 and watched a guy pay $25 a box (50) for Stingers.
  15. Amazon had them for around $47 shipped a few days ago.
  16. Congrats....great sharpener. I just talked a buddy of mine into buying one. I've got  DMT Aligner and while I like it better I probably use the Sharpmaker just as much.
  17. I bought myself a Sig P238 Scorpion and a couple holsters.
  18. Merry Christmas!
  19. I loved playing this song back in the 'I'm in a band' days.   http://youtu.be/0SgA_Dn7syA
  20. Man, that sounds sooooo good.
  21. Cryin' Christmas Tears   WARNING: DO NOT watch past the 4 minute mark   http://youtu.be/vDYVrqBZ95k
  22. Merry Christmas!!!   Let's start with some BB King   http://youtu.be/gDV0Y6UK0zs
  23. I ended up staying home this year. I've got 2 lbs of 16/20 count shrimp, some Lil Smokies in chili sauce/grape jelly/cayenne/garlic, extra sharp cheddar and Bourbon. The dog has all that plus a few goodies I got him. And Bourbon.
  24. Mine made it about 2 years before it started to get dull. I knew you weren't supposed to sharpen them but I tried anyway. Chipped it all to hell.
