  1.   That will probably be along in a year or two.
  2.   Ruger has a very bad habit of doing that.
  3.   Yes they do.  This state is full of hysterical ninnies just like every one one.

Are you looking for an M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, or M1A?    Those are three different rifles.   National Postal Meter is M1 Carbine.  Your thread title asks about M1 but your 1st post indicates M1A.
  5.   Don't go out of your way to visit.
  6. They sell guns, ammo and accessories now in the store.  Have been for a while.
  7. Visited that page many times.  Lot's of great information there even though from a technical standpoint the website sucks.
  8. Before I bought a vise I just used c-clamps and clamped the upper receiver block down on the workbench.  That worked fine.
  9.   If you need the last word you may have it...even if you're wrong.   :taunt: :D
  10.               See the part in bold where he said "Yep"?
  11. Would have liked to meet the guy but all I would have to say is "Nice to meet you, big fan of your work.  Do you know how much money you've cost me?"
  12.   What, What?  Tobashadow said he found a lower but they would only transfer it as a rifle.  That is wrong.  Then again, we're only going on what he said.
  13. I think flying in a B-17 pretty much is my bucket list.
  14.   Pretty sure that is a violation of ATF regulations if it's a new lower.
  15. Kroil.  Soak it and let the oil work it's magic.
  16.   So they had a stripped lower but would only transfer it as a rifle?
  17.   I have been buying from and checking PSA's website daily for a couple of years now and have never seen a $39 lower from them of any kind.   Regrdless, of brand, etc., let's say you find a $50 lower online.  PSA used to charge $7 for shipping on that...a year or two ago.  Add $30 for transfer & TICs (Knoxville area price).  That's $87.00
  18. PSA has really stepped up the shipping lately from what it looks like.   They also haven't had any crazy deals in the past couple of weeks.  ;)   I've ordered a lot of stuff from them....but I have patience, unlike many of the now, now, now generation.
  19. I see.  Have had hands on a squid rail before and thought it was the greatest thing ever.  Always wanted something similar for a Midwest SS Gen 1 rail but that's it the really need to sell box.
  20. What are these grommets for that you speak of?
  21.   Yes and no.  Corrosive ammo is not difficult to clean up after but the chrome bore might allow you a little more time to do it.  Kinda of a moot point if you consider the gas system is not chrome-lined and will rust up faster than you could ever believe.   BTW,  milsurp 7.62x39 is a rarity these days.  However, I treat it all as corrosive after being burned a couple of years ago on NEW manufacture Russian ammo (KSAP).  It is not only corrosive, it is seriously corrosive.  Unfortunately, it's really good ammo.  Anytime I get new 7.62 ammo I will shoot some, save a couple spent cases, then clean as if corrosive.  If it's corrosive, the cases will show in a couple of days as they are steel.
  22.   They did, but Russia started making the things in 1891.   My first M39 had an 1896 receiver.  The one I have now has a 1916 Remington receiver.
  23.   That's actually cheaper than buying a $49.99 blem from PSA once you add on shipping and transfer fee.
