  1.     US made M1 Carbine ammo was never corrosive.  ;)     Once the Russians set their minds to making something they just don't stop. They're probably making billions of rounds a year since it's still in active service.
  2. If it's a Colt 22 semi-auto and looks like a 1911 it very well could be an "Ace".  Very valuable.
  3. No it's not dead and never will be until it's passed....and it will be passed eventually.
  4. WOW took over Knology, which figures cause I just got them down to a price I'm comfortable with after 7 years as a customer.   I am of the opinion that cable services are like airlines and hotels.  No two people pay the same price.
  5. I believe you answered your own question.  That being said, it is generally not advisable to shoot lead pills out of a polygonaly rifled barrel such as a Glock due to concerns of excessive lead build-up and subsequent elevations in pressure.
  6. It sounds thoroughly unpleasant to shoot.  That and the ammo/brass availability would run me off.
  7. They will not damage your shotgun but they will not be very useful at an extended distance.  They'll probably be about as effective as a musket.
  8.   So what is the finest store-bought home defense load for an AR?
  9. An AR is ridiculous for home defense as is an AK or any other rifle, unless the rooms in your house are 50 yards long.   Shotgun or handgun.  Take your pick.
  10. I enjoyed my Winchester carbine just this afternoon, for the first time in a long time.   I feel your pain.  The extractor on my IBM (that I've had since about 12 years old) broke in half a few years ago.  It was a Winchester part.    Might want to head over to the CMP forums and put up a want ad.  I found a new front sight for said IBM there (extractor at a gun show) as the ears had been bubbaed off even before dad gave it to me all those years ago.   There is a guy who shows up at Knoxville shows every couple of months who always has a bunch of carbine parts.  Not sure where he's from but you might be able to find one at the next couple of shows there or I could be on the lookout for you.
  11.   It takes a while for news to spread.
  12. Hold on there.  I am excited to learn of what you heard.    If and when the CDC comes out with similar findings I'll be thoroughly estatic but not holding my breath.  I also believe their reports are going to be widely publicised and twisted to justify continued assualts on gun owners and out current "rights".
  13. Were any of the presenters health care professionals?   I'd wager the only reports that are going to matter is whatever rubbish the CDC puts out now that they have a renewed mandate to study the "problem".
  14.   Kinda reminds me of when members of Bin Laden's family where allowed to fly back to Saudi Arabia shortly after 9/11.    From the United States when all air traffic was grounded.
  15. Mile and a half according to the old boxes.
  16. Getting rimlock whole loading rounds is fairly common but I can't think of a reason why already loaded rounds would have an effect on ejection.   Have you tried fully loading with rounds stripped off the clip?
  17.   I've always thought because of Kimber, maker of 1911's.    BTW, how does a Governor rescind a law that has already been passed by the lesislative body and signed by his majesty?
  18. I make it a point not to discuss guns or anything else for that matter with people in gun stores.  My BS meter only goes so far.
  19.   $119 is on sale these days.  Same lower before the latest unpleasantness could be had for $49-$59 from the same vendor.   Nothing is on sale now.
  20. Has she shot it yet?  Might want to focus on some "cheap" target ammo first to get the hang of it.
  21. I know a couple of the guys I go shooting with, that shall remain nameless, always take the bench or area directly to my left.  Their brass constantly bounces off of me onto the ground.
  22. Can we make it a point at this one to introduce ourselves to one another rather than standing around talking to random strangers?   I ain't wearing any name tag so let's all make an effort to shout out who you are.
  23.   You have chosen wisely.  Traffic sucks out west but then again it does all over town.
  24.   Or American made M1 Garands and Carbines shipped to Korea 60 years ago.
