  1. Oh I totally understand. I think the Beretta is a fine rifle! I'd love to have one, but I personally don't want to pay $800 for a pistol caliber carbine, that I'll probably only plink with. For something like that, the Hi-Point fits my needs perfectly. And your right about it not being very functional for a lefty, though mine does tend to push the empties forward instead of backward. I also wish Hi-Point would produce larger capacity mags or better yet come up with some system for using other manufactures mags like the Kel Tec 2000 does.
  2. You might want to look at a Hi-Point 9mm Carbine. A whole lot less and probably just as accurate. Mine is a blast to shoot.

    COLT COBRA

Not only does it look awesome, but it shoots awesome! Congratulations!!!

    COLT COBRA

    Any day now!!!
  5. I saw some 91/30s at the show in Knoxville last week, but only one other M44/Type 53. Those seem to have dried up. Had some table holder tell me he was still getting them for $60, but he didn't have any on his table. The 91/30s were selling for $109 and up.

    Plinker revolver

I have a Colt Peacmaker in .22lr. It's a single action and a great gun to shoot. It's my son's favorite pistol to shoot, even over the autos!
  7. Anyone wanting to pay me $250 for my Chinese Type 53, is more than welcome too!
  8. Wondering if anyone has a Chinese M44 or Type whatever it is. Mine is Chinese. I need to strip it down and refinish the stock. Some one lacquered the hell out of it.
  9. Picked up two backpacks for me and the boy for scouts. Also picked up a sling for M-44. Prices were as usual quite high on firearms.
  10. I've worked with a machete for many years and found it to be the best all around survival tool.
  11. Nah! I've replaced one, one time and that was on a whim. It was a Norinco 1911a1 and also installed a full length guide rail at the same time.
  12. I've been known to carry a Cold Steel Spike from time to time.

    .22 Plinker?

+1 on the Ruger Mark II, III or the 22/45. Just all around great pistols. Kinda of on the cheaper end too. You should be able to find a used one for a little more than $200.
  14. I had 3 taken in a burglary several years ago. I had the numbers on two of them. I don't reckon I'll ever see them again though. Congratulations though!
  15. Very easy to do. I did one on a 5.56x45. And I'm not what you'd call real hand with tools.
  16. Saiga in 5.56x45 or 7.62x39. You can get them for under $400. Ammo is cheap and they can be upgraded to cheaply.
  17. I keep a Cold Steel Kopis Machete in my trunk. I've used machetes for years and I think they make dandy survival tools. I used one at work when I was surveying. That was what we used to clear line with. Didn't wear you out like a bush axe would. We thought nothing of taking down a 8 to 10" tree with one. Kept them sharp with a bastard file. I picked the Kopis because it had the sharpest point of any machete I'd seen. I want it to be able to cut and thrust. However the bad news is Cold Steel has dropped the Kopis from it's line. Now I'd get the Super Kukri or the Latin Machete with the longer blade. You can got to Cold Steel and watch the video at the beginning of the machete section. Watch them drive a nail into a couple of 2x4s with the 18" Latin Machete. I'd also look for either a Mil Spec collapsible shovel or perhaps the Cold steel version of the Spetnez shovel mentioned above. You can use them for anything, including a club or axe in combat. The Cold Steel Shovel would probably be a bit easier to swing though since it doesn't have the D-ring handle like the Mil-spec shovel. Still either would be a great addition to your kit.
  18. If I were to get another one, I'd want one with the 3" Barrel. And I might even go with the .327 Federal.
  19. I carry a little Kershaw Onion everywhere I go. Opens as fast as a switchblade with one hand and without the legal hassle.
  20. I've had two of them. One in .38 and one in .357. I wouldn't be afraid to purchase another one either. Great little pistol. The only negative is you need a holster with one. They weight to much for pocket carry.
  21. Well, it sorta makes sense. If you were bugging out down the interstate, there is a Waffle House about every other exit.

    New Gun, Or Not?

Hard to beat a Browning Hi-Power! It was like it was made for my hand! I miss mine. It was a great pistol. Love to catch the guy that broke in and stole it. I'd beat the S@#T out of him!
