Looks just like the one I have! I made my second range trip today and shot about 250 rounds. I had two FTF's using bulk Winchester 333. Aquila Super Velocity and Remington Yellow Jacket worked perfect. You might want to take a small screwdriver with you to the range for sight adjustments. Mine were a bit off. Sweet little gun.

I was in the Knoxville Costco about a month ago and I saw no postings. Used to belong to Sam's but Costco is closer. Costco's 1/4 lb. polish hotdog and soda w/free refills for $1.50 calls me in occasionally. Have gotten some great deals on Kirkland (Duracell at the time) batteries.

My wife can't rack my G19 and ended up getting her a Sig P238 (.380). Nice shooting little gun.

Never heard of using a lawn mower, but this reminded me of a story my mother told about her brother and yellow jackets. When my mom was seven and her brother David was eight, he was stung by several yellow jackets. Uncle David gave her a slender stick and told her to shove it down the hole and he would cut the SOB's heads off as they came out. Needless to say it didn't turn out very well. Mom was stung about 20 times and ran and jumped in the river where she nearly drowned. Uncle David stayed at the hole until their dad came and got him. Uncle David was stung about 70 times and nearly died. Mom told this story many times, but it always made me smile when I thought about Uncle David's persistence.

Pour a little gasoline down the hole tonight and it will get them all. The fumes will get them, so you don't have to use much (less than a pint for sure). You don't have to set it on fire either.

Now that's why I don't take my wife on dates! Bad things happen.

Just checked - out of stock.

Didn't know the extended mag was available for the FN. I wouldn't be going to war with either of the these two guns though.
-
I would buy the PMR-30 and fix the feeding problem. Pros for the PMR are price, sights, availability of ammo, and holds more rounds per magazine. However, I'm sure the FN is of better quality, but I would still go with the Kel-Tec. I think the Kel-Tec has a lifetime warranty for the original owner - right?

Congratulations and I commend you for your willingness to work. -
Charter Arms Undercover .38SPL bought in 1975. Still carry it occasionally and still shoot it regularly. Usually used as a truck gun or backup. Bought at Howards in Oak Ridge.

Do you really need to change your oil every 3,000 miles?
Xtarheel replied to Volzfan's topic in General Chat
The only way to know the condition of used oil is by sampling the oil. It also tells you a lot about the condition of the engine. I went from 6k mile OCI's on my Dodge diesel to 12k mile intervals after a series of sampling. I used conventional Shell Rotella (non-synthetic). Engine was still in good shape at 530k when I quit using it commercially and decided to sell. -
This is what my wife does. Just make sure to have the safety to "fire" position or hammer will not stay cocked.

Still showed as "in stock" until I tried to add to cart, then showed "out of stock" as of 7:05 EDT.

Remington Yellow Jacket .22LR in stock at Cabela's
Xtarheel replied to Xtarheel's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I've never used it, but guess I'll be giving it a try. I was able to order ten boxes. My wife may have to use it up in her Remington model 6 single shot. -
Glad to hear you are heading back to the AT. I thru hiked the AT way back in '79 and have since considered it a place where I could go heal if my personal life became too difficult. I have only returned as a section hiker and trail volunteer since. I read your posts from your previous trip with great interest. Some has changed, but much has remained the same. I instantly recognized the Kennebec and Shaw's - and of course the northern terminus. It brought back many memories. Hope you enjoy your trip and please keep us updated.

I ordered some G17 KCI mags a few weeks ago. I have gotten KCI mags from other sources before that ranged from fair to very good. These were the worst I have ever seen. Could only get a few rounds in the mag without it jamming. There were no markings identifying them as KCI. Not sure who the manufacturer was. Ended up sending them back for a refund. Could never get them over the phone, so contacted them via internet. Anxiously awaiting credit card to be credited.

Thanks for posting. Reminds us all of the necessity of being prepared. Sounds like you handled it well.

Buy low, Sell high, or sell never?
Xtarheel replied to broox's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I'm not buying or selling now. However, if I were to buy now and prices dropped back down, I would be kicking myself, not the seller. -
Anyone have experience with Dave Ramsey classes?
Xtarheel replied to maroonandwhite's topic in General Chat
My niece and her husband did the Dave Ramsey class and paid off $70k of student loans in 2 years. They are now debt free! They both picked up a second job and she even had a third job for a while. -
I would definitely add some insect repellent. Also, fleece is a good insulator when wet (like wool) and is lighter and dries quicker. Just don't get too close to a fire or it will melt.

I had the same type deal from IRS last year. I forgot to include some capital gains on my 2010 taxes. They sent me a bill for near $25k, which was more than the total worth of the account ever was. Not sure how they came up with that number. I should have owed about $600. I sent the appropriate form, Schedule D, and a copy of my account that showed the capital gains. It took several months to hear back, but they reduced it to about $800 which included interest and penalties.
