  1. My first thought was why have they not moved out years ago. A couple years back at NRA I talked to a Virginia based Zenith Firearms exec, nice lady by the way, about how they needed to move to the free state of Tennessee. Less than year later I noticed a pic on their website of her at the podium trying to talk the legislature out of passing numerous gun control bills. Didn’t work. I have a lot of respect for companies like Magpul. Gun control environment went south in Colorado and they wasted no time in moving to a free state.
  2. This thread is a little old but still interesting and pertinent to all who carry for personal protection. I feel once the other driver got agitated enough to leave his car and attempt to assault the driver that flipped him off escalated the situation to the point where he put himself in danger of bodily harm. Getting flipped the bird I would not think gives you the right to inflict bodily harm. The old school days of getting into a fist-a-cuff are long gone. Flipping the bird that escalates you into a self defense shooting could cost you in civil court however. I’ve flipped the bird very few times in my life and every time thought it was stupid and wished I hadn’t. If you carry you have to keep a cool head. As everyone has pretty much said you handled the situation well except for the initial escalation. I’ve read where most assaults are stopped before they go to far once the victim pulls a sidearm. Looks like this is a classic example of that. Thankful you weren’t hurt and did not have to use deadly force. Man it was close! Thanks for posting!

    Bushmaster 9mm.

What ever you purchase be sure and look at what magazine it uses and how available they are at this point in time.
  4. those familiar with rmr’s on pistols, I have a gen 5 mos glock 19. All the talk on correct screws, mounts etc is the Glock mos accessories not adequate to mount a red dot on? Screws too long, screws breaking etc. I can’t imagine that the Glock mos accessory kit not being adequate for mounting a red dot.
  5. Front site is fuzzy for me too, I use reading glasses also. Getting use to it though. Not shot a pistol with red dot yet. Plan to mount red dot on a glock 19 down the road. Thinking about not going with co-witness sights. That means a trijicon may be in order. The Holosun is a possibility with the circle dot. The Holosun is getting some good reviews. I think a tritium backup irons with circle dot would be a little busy. Or maybe go with co-witness with blackout rear site and simple tritium up front.
  6. You pretty much need one for pistol caliber and one for rifle caliber. Might also check out Rugged Suppressors like the Obsidian 9 for your pistols. Will have to use sub sonic ammo to get rid of the crack. Do that and they are pretty quite. Mostly 147 grain and above. but its hard to come by right now.
  7. Sweet find on PPK James! Ran across this Interarms 32 PPKs years ago at a Nashville area gun show. It’s one of my two main carry guns. Carry in a JM4 tactical holster. I know....it’s a small caliber. But the best gun you have is the one you have with you. LoL
  8. I think the Bronco has a huge potential of being very competitive in the 4x4 market despite Covid19 setbacks. There will be a lot of options/accessories down the road and should be just as customizable as Jeeps etc. One of the available accessories show cased is a slide out table in the back. Now those are cool. I think some other companies like Toyota offer them. Transferring reservations to orders happens from mid Jan into March so have some time to make a hard decision. Would like to see some independent reviews. Updated build and price scheduled to be out by order time. Still many unanswered questions. My small town dealership has 9 reservations. At least one is with a dealership employee. Would be interesting to know how may of the 190,000 Bronco reservations are actually held by people connected with the dealerships. Also will be interesting to see how many reservations actually are converted into orders.
  9. Love the 4.7 V8 in my 05 tundra. Just spent $1400 on preventive engine maintenance at 142000 miles. Timing belt replacement was the main reason for work. Cant go wrong with Toyota. Hopefully the Bronco will be reliable. The engines and auto are proven and have been in the Ford stable for sometime. That will help.
  10. Have no interest for a Raptor old or new, old Bronco modified or not or the so called Raptor version of the Bronco, "The Warthog" which is in the testing phase. The 202? Warthog is a little better comparison with the Raptor than the 2021 Bronco. The 2021 Bronco is going to bring some competition to the off road segment that has been missing for many years. Competition is good. Ford appears to be building the Bronco with the capability of being easily supported by a large aftermarket. That's a good thing in my book. Wish Land Rover did the same thing. Sorry to hear that the Raptor's had frame problems. Maybe it doesn't carry over to the 2021 Bronco. I have had one Ford. A 1997 Ford 150. It was a good truck. It got sold by private sell for 05 Tundra which I still have. The torque converter and air bag has been the Toyota's weak spots.
  11. Fully understand the "first model year" thing but not sure it really means anything or not. At least in my experience. My reservation is down the line a bit so there will be Bronco's on the road well before my possible buy will get to me. I think companies move pretty quickly to rectify high incident part failures on their new roll outs. However I do think one of the benefits of waiting is that options and improvements to equipment are made in later model years. Downside is that it can work against you also. My last vehicle purchase was a 2017. The 2018's were out when I bought the 2017 due to the 2017's not having Start/Stop. I'm glad a lot of people will wait for later model year Bronco's so I will get one sooner. Sorry mine will be wore out before you can buy it. LOL!
  12. Wondering if anyone on the forum has been following the new Bronco and has a current reservation. My first vehicle was a 73' CJ5 and kept it for 10 years. Great vehicle although had to work on it from time to time. I learned how to do mechanic work because of my CJ. Have always had a 4x4 in the stable and looked hard at the new JL Rubicon just before Covid hit. Then decided to hold off to check the Bronco out. Put in a late July reservation for the 2021 Bronco. Ford may have hit a home run with the new Bronco and will see! Plan to retire my 05 LR3 purchased new and want to get back to a a 4x4 that you can modify some to "make it your own". I'm retired and have time to do that. LOL
  13. Ran across the Remington R51 recently. Price was around $400 not the the $200 mentioned in original post and the price was firm. Felt good in the hand and liked the compact size. Did a quick search on the net afterwards and appears they worked the kinks out. I might buy one if could find around $200.
  14. One of the ways the democrats are attacking the 2nd Amendment is essentially making it a crime to protect yourself with a firearm without having the specific legislation in place to do so. We can look at Great Britain for a recent example of what can happen. Pass some sweeping gun control legislation and make it a crime to use a firearm for self defense. Then a Gov't is good to go. On a side note I think the case does show how an AR15 commands a certain level of respect. A M1A with a 20 round mag would have made a similar statement while a five shot revolver would not have. This self defense case IMO strongly shows that semi auto weapons are paramount for civilian personal defense use under the 2nd.
  15. Suarez International in Arizona has been modifying Glocks for sometime now and Holosun is a lower priced unit that he recommends. Off course you can't go wrong with trijicon. I have an old reflex site that has been a tank. I wonder are the Factory Glock plates and screws good quality or is it best to purchase aftermarket?
  16. Good points! Agreed but the end result is the same. Polymer80 sells kits with background checks.
  17. I don't pretend to know a lot about what Polymer80 was selling or about the raid. Did watch the video. For discussion lets give Polymer80 the benefit of the doubt and say they thought they were within the law selling the kits. So why do a raid. Why not just visit the company, work with them and come up with a solution. Even it would be "Hey you can't sell these anymore without a background check. They have to be serialized etc. I doubt Polymer80 is a huge "Threat to Society". Why raid? Just a thought.
  18. It would seem to me that legislation reducing the 2nd Amendment restrictions previously placed on the people would be a step in the right direction. Especially if it's legislation that could actually become law. I don't fully understand how the legislation proposed is like or not like "true constitutional carry" legislation. What would true constitutional carry look like? Just Asking. I assume first and foremost it would remove the need for a permit system which is what previous responses may be alluding to. Similar to what happened to our knife law. IMO all pro civil liberty states need to push back and strengthen their 2nd Amendment stance in the coming year. On another thought, isn't it an advantage to have a permit system so you carry across state lines to other states that recognize the TN permit? Or do those same states recognize constitutional carry states instead of permits?
  19. I’m a member of the NRA and FPC. No plans to let my NRA membership lapse. Hopefully they are getting their house in order because a strong NRA is needed more now than ever. I joined FPC because they are very active in litigation.
  20. Yes and Biden will quickly sign it. Will happen fast like in Virginia.
  21. I think we have already experienced what could easily happen nationally here in the US. All it takes is for the stars to align! A Democrat held House, Senate and Executive branch like what happened in 2019 Virginia. Also I would not be surprised to see Canada become just a larger version of Virginia. As Rush Limbaugh often says “Elections have consequences”. As for SCOTUS coming to the rescue, they won’t hardly even hear a gun case. There’s 2nd Amendment assaults going on all across the US. Courts aren’t stopping much from what I can tell. Heck we are now putting Mother’s in jail for working and that is in the current free state of Texas. We have to stay vigilant.
  22. Job done. Removed barrel which on MPX is simple. Mounted barrel in the vise with padding. Heated faux suppressor flats with a torch for a few minutes. Broke free without having to use very much force. My guess it was tightened to around 25 to 30 ft-lbs and no thread locker was used. Mounted 3 Lug adapter with 1.5 drops of Rocksett and torqued to approximately 20 Ft-lbs. Not a lot of threads on the barrel. Had to work the In Lead We Trust flash can 3 Lug mount a little to get it to properly mount. According to ILWT the mount is made to exact HK specs and if a 3 lug is even a half thousand off it could be a tight fit. Anyway both the flash can and obsidian mount up snug and tight. Used a Rugged Suppressor 3 Lug adapter. It has flats which was a plus.
  23. Thanks for replies. Talked to Rob at In Lead We Trust. Very helpful. Best to remove barrel assembly. Then assembly can be put in a vise. Could warp the MPX receiver if too much pressure is needed to remove muzzle attachment which could cause mis-feeds. Purchased a ILWT mag well vise block to aid in gun maintenance and barrel assembly removal. Remove the two barrel screws and it should slide out. Like mentioned by ken_mays I may put some heat on the faux suppressor.
  24. I was thinking the same thing. Contacted Rugged about switching to Rocksett. No problem. Not sure why they would recommend Loctite due to it's lower temperature rating. The barrel is 4.5"s so the adapter I think would easily exceed red Loctite rating. Trying to figure out how to hold the upper or barrel assembly to get the faux suppressor to move. It's on pretty tight. Can't find anything specific on the web. Might be better to take it to a local gunsmith who is experienced. Thanks for the replies.
  25. Asking for some pointers on installing a Rugged 3-Lug adapter on a Sig MPX pistol with the 4.5" barrel and fake suppressor. Appears to be one screw underneath that holds the hand guard in place and upon removal I assume the hand guard will then slide forward and off. Am I missing anything on the hand guard removal? Next will the fake suppressor be hard to remove? Hopefully no factory thread compound was used etc. Also appears there is only about 1" of space where the barrel could be put in a vice so that is an issue. Rugged recommends red Loctite with 20-25 ft-lbs of torque. Wonder if Rocksett would be better choice due to it's temperature rating. Any pointers would be appreciated before I get into this.
