  1. I've got a good pile of this (in Remington). Just curious about the bite from 180gr. Normally use 165 and its fairly stout. Haven't shot down to the 180 stuff yet.
  2. Seem like he resurfaced. Used an FFL finder at a frequent gun site and it showed as an "INC". Didn't move far from the shop location
  3. Since trolling the internets, I am assuming that the top flathead screws back out and adjust by turning the "thumb" screws? Can't seem to find any adjustment information online. Factory mounted on a Marlin 81DL if it helps.
  4. Those Winchester Henry rifles make mine look like a Red Rider BB gun. Serious stuff listed there.
  5. Thanks for saving me gas. Wanted to get out today, oh well.
  6. When I go home, I'll have to check this place out.
  7. Spring Hill is going nuts. Housing is low, in the process of getting two major health care facilities open (for the spouse). Health care in general is huge around here.  Also Williamson County is one of the best school districts in the state. Commuting out of here is a little slow, tack on 15 minutes to a normal ride if your going north on I65.
  8. The best $10 spent in a while. Dad left me a Ruger MK1. Went to Rugers site, filled out the form for a product history to see what comes back. Pistol (quoted as a "RST-4") was shipped September of 1974. Along with the fact sheet was an Instruction Manual with a copyright of 1981. The parts list and MSRP's listed are true to date also. The frame at when this was printed was a staggering $50.50. Still shoots lights out too at almost 40 years old. Now if I could just find some grips so I can put the originals away.
  9. Florida WAS a good place to visit.
  10. I think I'm going to try pjholster. I have a leather one now that I tried and it works, but not as "slick" as I'd like. Looked at alabamaholster also, but the lead times are way out. Ordered a pjholster. 5-6 weeks right now.

    S&W Model and year?

You have a picture or email one? From what I found so far on the serial number its an N-frame, 1925ish. K frames normally have a C, D, or K somewhere in the serial number. Edit: or scrap my thoughts.
  12. Ordered some .357mag January 16 without any issues. Didn't run into the stock issue with that order. First time using them too.
  13. The inventory has grown over the last year. My only gripe is parking is a pain, there are only 5 or 6 places. One lap around the block and there will be a spot open.
  14. http://www.newschannel5.com/story/20966021/gun-store-in-columbia-burglarized-overnight Not sure why News Channel 5 would have this listed after blasting Barrett a few days ago. That's my go-to shop now. Might have to find something else in there to buy.  Nice folks.
  15. Just ran out of patience trying to get the baseplate off to compare springs. I'll pull it off tomorrow. But yes, it is a factory 10+2.
  16. It's factory TN-popo. Matches the two that came with my 26. Factory package that I've seen before I was a Glock owner. Just curious. The other two 10 rounders don't rattle at all. Seems like after a while moving around in there, it might do some damage.
  17. Bought a factory 12 round (9mm) magazine a few weeks ago because it was on the shelf. Noticed overly stiff spring, more so than normal this time. The floor plate wasn't exactly at the bottom, fixed that. Kept it loaded with 12 rounds, now one or two rounds move around (area of the 7th and 9th). Not sure why but an odd number of rounds keeps things tight. Any thoughts? PS: Still learning the Glock platform
  18. The last link to the Smith forum is a good one. I spend almost as much time there as on here. Smith serial numbers can tell a lot, there more of a birth date once you figure it out.
  19. My wife has an old blanket, not sure of the blend. I found out that the trim on it emits a glow of sorts if you pass your hands over it. In other news, I'm taking ownership of a Gibson Mastertone, Any suggestions for lessons?
  20. Here too. Back to bed once I take Jr to daycare, For once they got the timing right. I was watching the news when the first one went off. The second one sat me straight up out of a dead sleep. :panic:
  21. After the info you had on mine, I sent my M&P back Friday. Should get to S&W Tuesday. I'll let you know about turnaround time.
  22. Got one too. Are they going to try and find me if I don't pay $3.96 in tax? I checked the link on the email. The state site is also going to charge you a fee (2.49%) for using a card to pay the tax.
  23. c.a.willard cleared me up.
  24. Just took inventory of my ammo. I'm heading out tomorrow. Only taking two calibers this time. Normally take 3 on range days, but cutting back until retail stock gets back closer to normal. Range trips for me in general have been spreading out. Need to invest in snap caps I suppose.
