1.
I think the hoarding label is based on the number of safes you have. More than 10 safes and you are technically a hoarder.
Does the size of the safe come in to factor? If not, I am golden.
2. EVERYONE needs more Garands.....
3. That is fantastic! Thanks!
4. Would love to see it. Love that stuff.
5. So, I travel pretty regularly with my job. Mostly to sister sites, operational meetings, trade shows, etc. I always pick up a few books for the travel (paperback - still don't have a Kindle or Nook). Anyway, I remembered a recommendation from either this site or another site for the book "One Second After"..... Holy cow! I was blown away. Short version, with no spoilers, is that the story centers on a retired Colonel, current professor who lives in a small mountain town right outside of Asheville, NC. The story follows him specifically, and the community that he lives in, right after an EMP attack in the United States. This is horrifying, and scares the heck out of me. A must read, but plan on a 2nd job afterwards to pay for your bunker, years worth of food, and even more ammo. Unbelievable in that it's so believable....
6. These scared the crap out of me several years ago: Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. Because it's only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realize your true potential. Barack Obama I think when you spread the wealth around it's good for everybody. Barack Obama and, of course: It's not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations. Barack Obama
7. Calf. Bet there some cows in the area, but that certainly sounds like a calf *grew up on a dairy farm*
8. Should have stopped after the title. No further explanations or statements needed. It's understood.
9. Strictly artificial, i would fill it up with jigs of various weights and colors and throw in a few spoons for good measure. I do like rooster tails, vibrax, bucktail spinners etc, also.
10. And even more dangerous was the fact that Yard Darts were readily available without a background check.....
11. G'N'R greatest hits '87-'94 Talk about bringing back some memories. Still one of my favorite bands of all time. Every time I pop this CD in, I think "Wow. This music would be relevant now if it just hit the air waves for the first time"
12. Love light / ultralight tackle. Use it for everything from crappie to catfish. While I have several light / ultralight rigs, my favorite is the Abu Garcia Revo Premier on a 6' BP Johnny Morris CarbonLite.
13. I don't know what price point you're at, but I am a big guy (6'6/265) and the Corolla did not work for me. Piece of advice for a big guy with 2 kids in the compact class: Subaru Forester. Wife has one, and we love it. plenty of room for me to drive, and kids in the back.
14. There are so many things. * Don't just place their family's needs in front of their own, because the family's needs ARE their own. * Helps a neighbor out. * Knows how to forgive (but doesn't necessarily forget - because he doesn't make the same mistake twice). * Is more prepared than a boyscout. * Treats his wife as an equal partner in all endeavors. * Can teach his kids to drive a (auto or stick) car, motorcycle, and atv. * Can back a trailer without a "spotter". * Can grow a garden. * Can hunt and fish, and knows how to prepare said game for dinner. * Has his own set of tools, and knows how to use them all. * Knows how to swallow his pride and ask for help, but only when he has exhausted all other avenues. This list could go on for hundreds of pages, and only scratch the surface of all the virtues a real man should possess.
15. That (Y'uns) is what I always heard growing up in Charleston, TN. God love the Charlestonians.
16. lol - have you been talking to my friends and family??
17. Thanks guys. I'll have to check this out for sure. Everytrail.com
18. So, Aside from my alchemist passion of turning large amounts of money into boat repairs, I also enjoy riding my Honda Rancher. Living on Signal, I ride at Edwards Point and sometimes make the trip to Prentice Cooper, which is just about a 20-25 minute ride from my house. Quite honestly, these are the only two places close to me that I even know I can go ride. I have lived in this area for a little over 5 years, coming down from Charleston, TN, but I spend most of my time working or spending time with my family. This allows very little time to explore or search for new places to ride. I am also comfortable with these places because I ride mostly by myself. Obviously not the ideal situation for safety, but the only people I know who ride live back in Bradley county and ride the areas I know up there. That's about a 2 1/2 hour transit time round trip, which is just a little less time than I can usually get away to ride total at one time. Anyway, any folks on here ride in the Chattanooga / Signal Mountain area that can give some pointers for new places / times to ride?
19. 40??? Holy Cow! My wife (and my own mother, of all people) are still trying to convince me that I am not, in fact, 25 years old. I am beginning to thing that there is a massive governmental conspiracy behind all of these people trying to tell me I am 37. No doubt, it is to break me down and make me question my own sanity to turn me in to a Manchurian candidate type. It is, after all, election year......
20. So, I am another year older today. I have always thought of birthdays as a time for reflection over the past year to look at your accomplishments and failures, what you could have done better, and what you couldn't have done better. I enjoyed a subdued birthday, spending the entire day with family and friends. As I sat at dinner looking across the table at my oldest friend, I suddenly realized how old he has become. His wife, who went to high school with us, is no spring chicken, either. How they got this old overnight, I have no clue, especially while I have remained so youthful. Anyway, after they turned in early (indicative of old folks), I had time to sit and reflect on my accomplishments, and the things I have been able to do in my young life. It was hard to believe that so many things could have been done in 25 years. As I mention to my wife that she has married a serious overachiever, she gives me an odd look. Could be that she looks very old to be 7 years younger than me. Wow, she should get better sleep and nutrition, because she looks like she's 30. As I climbed out of the shower just a few minutes ago, I realized that the man looking out of the mirror back at me didn't look very much like a young man, either. Thinning hair where thick brown was , chubby paunch where a firm, flat stomach was this morning. There is gray in the raggedy stubble left from not shaving this morning..... Obviously, my wife and friends have tried to play a horrible trick with one of those stupid circus mirrors. Why, it made me look like I was 37..... wait a darn minute.....Nahhhhh, can't be. Man, I love being 25.
21. He must have meant that Chik-Fil-A is not beating 87 year old war vets half to death..... http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/ct-met-wwii-vet-robbed-beaten-20120801,0,4086285.story
22. Maybe. Me, personally, I agree with their message, and will help support them through the barrage of derogatory media sent their way because of that. Obviously, I support peoples right to speak their mind and stand up for their morals, it does not mean i have to support them or what they support if I do not agree with it.
