  1. I don't get into detailed cuts and mostly stick to roast, stew, ground meat and slice up the blackstrap but if that would be enough to satisfy your butchering needs I'd be glad to help you on the next one. I'm not great at it but I do get it done.
  2.    That's kinda what I thought. I still see plenty of the earlier mags for sale and it would be mighty easier to grab a few each time you left the state. Better be sure to remove and toss the plastic before you cross back into CO though.
  3.  This may be a stupid question but how would one go about knowing when a mag was manufactured or purchased? I'm in bed or i'd go check some different mags but I don't remember any date identifying markings on any of mine.
  4. I used to race motocross and also did mechanic work on others bikes and some really cared about the detailed and pretty stuff. The case covers for the bottom end of the motors usually had the manufacturers name cast or machined into the cover so we would sometimes spray paint the whole cover and then wipe away everything that wasn't down in the lettering. What i'm not sure about is, the covers were typically a gloss finish that the paint wiped off easily but with these lowers being a flat finish i'm not sure if the excess paint would simply wipe off.

    KY GUN FORUM??

I think you are probably on to something but I don't think you are giving yourself and the mods enough credit. It helps that there are decent knowledgeable folks that are willing to help here but I think the way issues are handled as well as what is and is not allowed goes a long ways in keeping people drawn to this sight.
  6. I've been to 3 RK shows in Lebanon that I thought were pretty good. Buuuut this time it wasn't an RK show, it was a "The Great American" promoted show and was the absolute worst gun show that I have ever been to... By far! The only reason I went was that my almost brother in law from Ireland had never been to a gun show and wanted to go while he was here so I obliged. It's one thing for it to be a bad show but they took my $16 at the door at 2:15 and then made an announcement at 3 telling everyone to get done and move on out because they had decided to go ahead and close. Piss poor promoters IMO and I'll never go to another of their events.
  7. Come on Tanker, why would you not want to shoot yourself off at the knees before the race gets going? Folks need to realize that even with the help of more illegals and handout Harry's we could still win this. Look at the voter turnout numbers for the last two elections.. There's an awful large chunk of us that are staying home on election day and finding a way to get them excited to go vote because they think it might actually do some good would be a good place to start. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic but it seems to me that admitting defeat before anything starts is the first best way to ensure that the folks continue to stay home and let us continue on this path to destruction. I've been hearing folks talk about politics over the last year that I've never heard speak of it before and most are pissed off enough to vote next time around. Liberals are doing a real good job of keeping us supplied with things to be pissed off about so why not harness that and use it rather than throwing up the white flag now.
  8.  Yep, saw this on the morning news and it caused my dog to look at me with that funny head turned to the side look because I was laughing and was the only one in the house. Keep them supplied enough to get by but nothing more and if the "melting ice" doesn't save them before the truly dangerous winter starts, then go pluck them off the boat.. I say pluck them off the boat because I don't think tax money should be sent out to rescue the vessel that the fools took to run their errands. There needs to be some loss in this deal for them or they'll just turn around and do it again.
  9. Oh I wasn't saying that just to prove you wrong or anything. Every other show I've seen in Lebanon has been RK.
  10.     my eyes aren't good enough to pick it up I guess.
  11.  The promoter was "The Great American" and after today i'm inclined to think that they should edit the name to read "The Sort Of American" because of the very high percentage of chinese garbage. I just googled it and saw that it had received a 1 3/4 out of 5 star rating.
  12.    I've been to the RK shows in Lebanon and they have been pretty good but this one was a different promoter if I remember correctly (99.9% sure) and will be the last of their shows I attend. I'll see if I still have the email on it real quick.
  13.  Like Dolomite said, stick with pistol gas and an adjustable block and you will be able to make most any ammo work in the rifle.
  14.    CMMG says not to run supers through that barrel because they are assuming that you will be running a non adjustable gas block leaving you with an badly overgassed rifle. I have the barrel and like it pretty well but make sure you buy the smallest adjustable gas block you can find for that diameter gas pad. Syrac seems to be about the smallest i've found but there are likely others out there.
  15. I have a very similar wedding ring (titanium and carbon fiber) and they are very inexpensive so I highly doubt there is any serial number or anything. I believe we payed $85 for mine Shane Co.
  16.    I tried to check out your video but it's not working.
  17.    That sounds exactly like the kind of place I would really like to go. I carried the brother in law to the gun show in Lebanon after church today (worst gun show i've ever been to) and when we left we started to go North of town to the shop someone mentioned earlier in this thread but got a call the the keys were mysteriously locked in my wife's car without her in it so we had to head home. But back to the gun show, There were only a handful of serious vendors in the building. I have never seen so many tables of junk in my life and it was so bad the told everyone to leave and closed an hour early... but not before they took our money of course. I'm going to look up who the promoter was so that I can be sure not to go back to any of their shows.
  18.    It was dark by the time I got to his place so I couldn't say if it were near a river.
  19.     His shop kind of seemed like one with old and/or used surplus which is what i like best. We went into one shop being run by two Asian women (I assume mother and daughter) and I got to noticing that nothing had prices so I made my way to the back and asked the bil if he was seeing any prices and he replied nope. About this time one of the women showed up and I asked her if I had to ask her every time I wanted to know the price of something and she responded yes, in not so few words. Pretty sure she just makes them up as she goes according to what day it is.
  20.    The funniest one I saw coming out was a woman carrying 7 50cal cans... Now granted they don't way much but anyone that's ever tried carrying two in one hand knows that it's kinda awkward so just picture a fairly short woman trying to get to the car with 7 of them. She dropped one and while trying to get it scooped back up she dropped 3 more and then her load was more to her capacity. I would have been a gentleman and helped her get them to her car but that was a crazy line and there was nothing that was going to get me out of it just to have to start over.
  21.    I saw a shortage of boxes on hand right after the shooting and I reckon that was enough. A friend and I decided that we'd wait in line at the Nashville show along that time and I swear every other person that walked out the door was toting at least one ammo can, like they were giving them out at the door as parting gifts or something. Everyone I saw after shops and vendors resupplied seemed to have a considerable price increase attached to them. I love finding ammo cans of all shapes and sizes and other storage surplus but the pick jump has about broke me of dragging any to the house.
  22.  Well we ended up in Clarksville today. Because of the women in our lives change of plans and iPhone Siri's piss poor navigating skills we got up there later than I wanted to find that many of the shops were closed on Saturday or closed sometime before we got there. My brother in law was able to find the exact jacket that he'd been looking for and for about half the price that he'd been finding on eBay so I suppose the trip was a win. The best one that we went to was the Eagles of War that DaveS suggested and we tried to hit up Pack Rats and it was one of them that was closed but looked like a good one. The name of the other 3 slip my mind right now but i'll think of them eventually, we saw so many that they all kind of run together. I did see enough that I would like to make another trip sometime when I can spend the whole day in the area.
  23.  You're seeing plenty of them around because the price is so high
  24. Thanks fellas. I'm headed to pick up the brother in law and I will see how much time he wants to sink into it and go from there. Something tells me that we'll end up in Clarksville but I'll give a run down on here when we get back.
  25.    Okay... disregard the pm then.. I'm guessing since you were joking that the item you spoke of is quite pricey?
