Quarterbore guns are way, WAY underrated. I am willing to be that either one of those guns would go head to head with any deer rifle made. That is a wonderful story about those very lucky kids. Thank you for sharing. That checkering is what really looks sharp to me. Don't see it done like that very often. Lot of time there.

A good reloading book (despite the topic and post - Lyman has the best of these) Will step by step tell you everything you need. The BEST place to start is get a feel for it in the book....then watch someone reload 50 rounds with your equipment. Someone there in Nashville will show you the strings if you ask.

I do...they are as good as they claim to be. They handle holster wear without problems and they DO NOT rust - One of the best things about them. Case in point...compare a S&W Model 10 that has been carried for 30 years. Then look at an earlier Nickel M or I frame that has had the same done for pushing 70 or 80 years. The reason you don't see it much on guns today is twofold...it is expensive -and- EPA regs on the plating process are very strict.
-
This is truth....it really does expand one's knowledge. Enough so to where it is hard to take seriously someone who doesn't.

Same reason AR type guns cost $800....as answered above....Because they can.

The think that I can't get over is the fact that they can actually hear each other talking after the battles took place. I don't know about you all, but it only takes one gunshot for my ears to ring for hours. I don't think that a whispering conversation is even possible after you have been bombed for 3 hours, shelled for 2, and then spend the rest of the night gun fighting. After all of the realism that is placed in a war movie...this is one thing is always overlooked. One can't hear anything.

GT Distributers has them for that price + GA Tax 7% and $40 transfer.

And just as an FYI - Carl wasn't always a curmudgeon and we should probably give him some credit. When he started and ran Montlake Classic Clays - it was a top notch business. In other words....he is not oblivious to his situation. He just doesn't care anything at all about that shop. It is only there as a storefront for an FFL, a range, and a place to train Carry permits.

This is a 100% true story. One father's day in the late 1980's I bought a Lee auto prime (you know- the hand loaders) from Carl because i couldn't think of anything to get him at the time. Flash forward 20 years I went in there 2009 because I somehow lost a shellholder for my reloader and didn't want to drive over the river to sportsman's warehouse. There, sitting on the very same shelf, was the other lee auto prime that I had to cull through because the box was dented. The sad part is that the price was exactly the same - Which was twice as much as I can get it for at midwayusa. No joke....I used my credit card and Carl processed the payment on a rotary dial telephone!!!!! That place is still in business simply because the owner simply has nothing better to do than sit in that building.

Actually a pretty good list.

I did buy all of my Lyman stuff used and cheap. Have had good luck so far (knock on wood) Their bullet casting equipment is where they really shine....the best in the business. I do have to say, if you ever need it, RCBS and Dillon have the best customer service in the industry. It really does make the premium in price worth it.

I really enjoyed eating at the St.John's "Marketplace" that is in the same building as the regular shop. Prices were much better, and didn't feel underdressed

Understood, but the way to do it would not be best achieved by lamenting how little support the forum may/may not have for the NRA. The real answer to the OP if that isn't the case - Most people simply haven't updated their profile. NRA-ILA is a good organization. Heck folks, the American Rifleman is worth the membership fee.
-
The funny thing about this whole thread...it is a sort of troll in and of itself ---- What does the OP think he knows that we don't. Is it trying to say that you are an idiot if you aren't a member? I mean really...trying to place embarassment of TGO readers who aren't NRA members? Is it trying to shame people in joining? Is this person like a deacon who casts an evil eye to someone who doesn't drop money in the bucket?

CLICK HERE for St. View. It is Sunday night and raining....closest I can get right now. Can take another Monday, but will look the same.
-
So far....3 on a stringer. Any more bites? Maybe some more worms are needed -What have they done to inform us on TN legislature in the past 2 years? NRA-ILA has a bullet every now and then. -Did they support Heller before or after it went in the media spotlight?
-
Unless it is a stainless one that CAN be traded for new blades...that front sight is silver soldered on. I sure haven't seen any made for it. Doesn't mean one can't be made.

Because they are just another bag of lobbiest a-holes

He can have them both for all I care....they are sloppy kissers, eat crackers in bed, and can't make a proper breakfast. Am done with them....

I am actually looking out my office window right now at that old building. It is at Cherry and 7th street. It is good, but pretty much a greasy spoon diner rather than a Krystal now. I always thought that Krystal is bonkers nuts not to buy back that building and run it as the original. Lula lake is awesome if you are into hiking.

Mayor dispels rumor about Belle Meade gun ban

Pretty much this +1 folks. you people spend 7 pages bellyaching like a bunch of babies and don't ever thing of looking at the wording of the Tennessee charter. This will put it almost exactly the same as the Tennessee code with respect of intent to go armed 39-17-1307. It pulls the more specific definition of the weapons from the school restrictions. The only thing they did is remove the 100+ year old stupid law that the jackass exposed. -

Man that had to suck bad about 30 minutes after the "boom" On a slightly different note...This is the personal reason why I don't like bullpup rifles. -
Help please Ruger MKIII 22/45

The follower of the magazine is what pushes up the bolt stop. If , as westwindmike stated, the bolt stop works on the gun....the only other problem is that it could be a mag problem. Pull the bolt back, press up on the bolt stop, and release the bolt. If it works then move on to the mag...see if it is possibly bent at the lip to not allow the follower to go up all the way. Either way - it won't hurt that gun at all. -
Book ahead if possible. Stay at the riverfront/downtown area. Everything there is within safe walking distance. if it is over 1/2 mile from the aquarium you don't want to stay there. In other words - If King's Lodge comes up on your hotel search....avoid it like the plague. Downtown is where its at. Aquarium, Imax, a VERY nice traditional movie theatre, good eating places, and some neat shops on Fraizer. Sticky Fingers is one of the better eating places and are running $25 for 2 specials that can't be beat. Lookout mountain is nice, but Ruby Falls and the incline are very touristy. Point park and Rock City are actually pretty neat. Edit...if you want something unique for hotel. The above mentioned riverboat or One of the boxcars at the Choo Choo are neat. The choo choo is in a semi - desirable part of town 1 mile away from downtown, but is a safe place and has a free shuttle to the other hot spots. There are some VERY swanky places to eat near the Choo Choo.
