    Ruger P90

If it is dovetailed then you push it out an put in a lower front sight. A easier option that most would take would be to clamp it into a padded vice and file it down just like any other fixed sight firearm.

    Ruger P90

Or you can lower the front sight...much easier.

There is a lot of humor in the fact that the golden cow of military firearms for practically anyone in the hobby is an M1 Garand. The M-1 Carbine and the M1A are simply scaled down and improved versions of the same gun. Equally praised as fap juice to the EBR crowd. Then Ruger makes practically the same thing for .223 and 7.62x39 and somehow the otherwise rational military folks turn up their noses. Crappy accuracy is inherit in the base models of any of the above mentioned guns. Crappy mags are the problem, not crappy guns with respect to FTF & FTE...exact thing in 1911's also. AK is a great gun, but simply a different lineage than the above guns...which are all in the same family.
  4. I don't want to undercut the business going on with this forum...pretty sure I am not simply because there isn't a vendor here that actually makes them. Happen to know the best in the business with respect to SP and GP inserts. Not trying to sell anything, but if you are looking for inserts for these guns I happen to know where you can pick among 100 or so different ones in different wood/materials. They are hard to find if you aren't looking for them.
  5. This thread is useless without pictures... Here is my KSP321TG Special Distribution from Talo finished in Target Gray...I LOVE this gun!!!
  6. Flip it "stock up" and soak some WD-40 in there over night. Then use the BIG screwdriver mentioned above. They use a bunch of locktite when they slap them together in addition to the threads digging into the synthetic stocks...can be a booger to get off.
  7. I have a "Solow" mount on my MKII with no drill holes. You have to drift the rear sight out however. It is rock solid and sits very low to the barrel. Only real con is that they are made for 30mm red dots...other than that it is pretty awesome. Before you consider these no drill mounts...you need to make sure that they are made for the standard model as they often fit in the dovetail cut in the target models. It is not very difficult to tap the holes for a factory scope mount. Would post photo, but my work has photobucket blocked.
  8. My wife is looking over my shoulder right now. The first thing out of her mouth was "He better not scratch the kitchen table playing with guns...Doghouse for him" My table is decked out all fancy like that...wife gets mad when she finds grains of 2400 on it from time to time. Congrats on being reunited with that old gun. The 3rd gen Smiths, IMHO, were among the most underrated guns made.
  9. I'll go up to $100
  10. Are the us ones .303 British or were they rechambered to .308?
  11. Fenris...that Browning .22 is nice. I have always wanted a one like that, but just haven't gotten around to it. Nice to see that they are minute o'squirrel shooters!
  12. They are both solid firearms...the big strike against the p95 is that it is really, really thick.
  13. Ruger has a history of doing recalls, not because their products are defective, but because they are very keen to avoid even the slightest possibility of a lawsuit. The SR9 (and LCP) have both been recalled because that there is a minute possibility that if you drop one off a 10 foot ladder and something hits the trigger upon impact that the gun could go off. Seriously - this is the reason for the recall...the CA ladder drop test. The SR9 is a decent gun...bore axis as low as a CZ75, but 1" thick. It would be a spectacular gun if there weren't so many others in the same category.
  14. Another vote for the old way here too. I thought that it was A-OK until I tried to sell a couple of items a week or so ago. It was confusing that it seemed to have its own PM system and no real way to edit in a WSWYG mode. There is no real way to let the system know it was sold, taken off the market, deleted, or abandonded. Not meaning to be critical, but it might be scaring people off due to the hassle and complexity. I run rugerforum.com and we had a gentleman build a similar script for our site...it was actually the same system that was later used by rimfirecentral.com. While it was good for mass quantities of sale items without much moderation (rugerforum = 50 or so items per day while rimfirecentral was up to 200) ...it was just too much complexity for most users. We scrapped it in the testing phase. This is a HUGE +1 for other people wanting to sell things. We strongly suggest people do this on my site...HERE
  15. You will be suprised...especially if that .500 had the muzzle ports.
  16. My heart goes out to you...I am so sorry to hear of this. We will pray for you and your family.
  17. I always liked the crazy guy in "Tremors" Remember...your brass tumbler will make a subterranean worm want to eat your family!!!! Don't piss Reba McEntire off lest you get thumped. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOyhGo6pONQ[/ame]
  18. This is one of the more unique threads you will find on the interweb. Starts with a Hypothetical question...turns into a soliloquy on how to win a gunfight with the guy in the urinal next to you. Not discounting the situation, but it is a rather odd discussion nonetheless
  19. Not saying that I agree with them (I don't like Glaser at all) but here is their take on it. CLICK HERE
  20. Now that Georgia has it...no blood in the streets yet...I can see it being much more likely to pass now that Neifeh is gone.

The CZ bug bites hard my friend. I should have warned you...Revhigh was a bad, bad influence
  25. There is still a lot of debate with respect to the penetration vs. expansion to be had with sub 1000fps .38 specials. The Quinn folks at gunblast like the Glasier safety slugs. If you frequent gunshows...for many MANY years Federal Nyclads were considered the best for snubnose .38 specials like the S&W cenntenial models. Reason being that the lead expanded more reliably than the fancy bullets due to the lower velocities and still penetrates acceptably.
