  1. Early voting is available until when? I am finally stateside again on the 22nd and want to vote. I'm in Sumner county, where do I find the information and when and where I can vote early? Any suggestions on choices for local offices? It's not like I have seen/heard anything on the local guys working overseas.
  2. Sounds like the hired-help is jealous of your knowledge of firearms.
  3. I think it's a great idea. You want that gov't check? Please piss here. It will never happen because people will inject a racist angle and kill any measure designed to "improve" the system.
  4. "....53 seconds with a functions check"? WRONG Semi-impressive skills for the girl, but dad needs to read up on his AR.
  5. How I spent my summer Afghan vacation Here is my perspective while on the job.
  6. That's my theory too. I don't believe drastic changes will occur initially. I think they would start by raising the tax to $500 or $1000. The vote history for our liberal candidate show several attempts to raise firearms related taxes, including higher taxing for ammo.
  7. Between the 2 websites I listed, I was just concerned about Alabama's no reciprocity agreement, but recognizes TN HCP. I might have to stay at a Holiday Inn Express to understand that. To me its just symantecs, but I want to be legally correct. Based on all sites I have seen, I can carry concealed in AL with my TN permit. I'm not one for open carry. I prefer to have the element of surprise if I need it.
  8. I will be traveling to Alabama quite often in the future. I have been reading up on the reciprocity laws and they are confusing. The AL State website(http://www.ago.alabama.gov/issue/pistol.htm) states there is a reciprocity agreement, but the TN DOS website (http://www.state.tn.us/safety/handgunmain.htmstates )that there is not agreement, but the TN HCP is recognized. So what is the right answer? Is there any restriction on carrying in AL?
  9. Who's talking about killin? I was thinking more along the lines of inviting him in to review my families' self-defense plan.
  10. Tungsten- Thats great to see kids learning about firearms safety. I will be teaching my 7 yr old how to shoot his .22 rifle when I return. I think I'm more excited than he is. I love the thought of passing down these important skills to my boys. To get him excited, I bought him a range bag with all the required safety and cleaning items. Oh yes, he will be cleaning his own weapon. I also bought him a variety of paper varmint targets and steel spinner targets.
  11. Gun porn.....gotta love it.
  12. Retreat or not, if someone forcefully enters my residence, their breathing will be assisted by a few "relief holes" in the chest. Defend the family and property, then sort out the details.
  13. I am not worried , at this point, about having my stuff confiscated. But, I think if the DEMs gain the majority in congress and win the white house, the cost of the tax stamp will substantially increase. Call me thrifty I guess. I simply want to invest my money wisely. $200 today might seem like a bargin one day. Sadly, Obama has a track record of being anti-gun. This isn't meant to start or fuel a firearms panic. I was just curious if anyone else feels the same way.
  14. I am limited to FoxNews, Al Jezeera, and CNN here , when the satelite is working. When I watch Obama's Field & Stream interview, or watch a video of kids singing and another of them chanting, or watch his smug smile at the debates, I get worried. I worry that uneducated people are voting based on lies or popularity, and not on facts. We have seen this in the past: Hilter, Castro, Mao Te Sung, Kim Jung Ill, etc. With the economic crisis, I fear we may get a taste of socialism that we will all regret. The Reid, Pelosi, Boxer, Obama, Frank, Feinstein (to name a few) group will make this country weak. Bottom line, I am exercising my constitutional rights now, before the election.
  15. Does anyone else feel a sense of urgency to purchase your NFA items on your wishlist? I have been watching the news this last week and it appears as if the US & the world is falling apart, and a potential Uber-Liberal taking charge of the US. Now this could be attributed to the left-leaning media bias, but FoxNews doesn't depict the news as good either. (Current location- Kabul, Afghanistan) With a few priority adjustments, I have lined up my SBR lower with Joe at Hero Gear. I don't want to be left out if the poll predictions come true. Call me paranoid, but I can't be the only one out there feeling this. (With any luck, I might have a great XMAS)
  16. Hmmmm, they can't call him white, that tight curled hair and skin color doesn't pass the test. They can't call him Arab, because that's a bad marketing angle for a President in these times. So by default, he's gotta be black. That would have been a good question to ask him at the latest debate. "Senator Obama, based on your family tree, you are more white, than arab and black, can you explain why you chose to associate yourself with the smallest ethic portion of your heritage?" He would stutter and show he can't answer questions that require an actual thought. OR, he would change the topic like any typical politician.
  17. Too much "bling" for my taste. I guess I'm a traditionalist. I prefer the camo'd up model. On second thought, under an Obama administration, all guns might be required to resemble the first 2 guns shown. Joe might be on to something here.
  18. Excellent video! I love how the Dems bear no blame for this. Another fact I recently learned: Barney Frank is gay. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,432501,00.html
  19. That was a great story. He could be up for an Oscar!!
  20. Volzfan- I know they put that apology out. I was attempting to add sarcasm to my "soapbox". With all these apologies being thrown around, why don't they apologize to me for being stupid elected officials, wasting my tax dollars, and for passing that damn affirmative action crap. Color has no advantage or disadvantage in society today, although people like Jesse and the Revernd Al continually try to drive that color wedge into society. People who judge by color are blind themselves. As long as there are various races in our country people are going to hate and discriminate. I need a beer.
  21. AH HAH! That's where I left my polar bear helmet.
  22. This is an interesting event. Although I see the (true) group behind this event, it's funny how any event associated or based around a "white" theme becomes racist. In a country where we tolerate the NAACP, the Congressional black caucas, Hispanic, Asian, native American, and any other ethnic groups, we can't see a group of "white folk" coming together without associating the KKK. To further this, why is there a Black, Hispanic, Asian, etc history month and no white history month? Why are white skinned people left out or isolated? I never supressed or owned another race, nor did my relatives. What did I, as a white person, ever do wrong? Personally I find this racial argument without any merit. People want to cling to the past to promote their ideology or pander. Why can't we all just get along? Next thing you know Congress will be appologizing for slavery. [soapbox Complete]
  23. But I don't care for Clinton or "W" Bush. Clinton was too much of a p#$$y to take any decisive military action during his term and IMO, Bush just wanted to finish his Dad's war. Either way, we have deal with extremist that hate our country.
