  1. Yea he is chipped and I have the code ring and number to call if he goes missing and turns up someplace other than here. He is a handful for sure but I think a lot of that is because he's in a new place and surrounded by so many new things to investigate. He loves to ride which is a plus cause he will be going most places I go. He was up romping a few minutes ago and now is crashed again. I did learn I need to watchi him around waste baskets. He got 2 of them turned over right quick and got a firm scolding for that and by the way he sat down and reacted my guess is he has been whipped which I won't ever do and I think scolding is more that enough just by the way he reacted. I have a very tall bed that I elevated so Kasey could get her fat butt under it and Obie Wan showed me right quick it was not to high for him to make the leap and was stretched out like this is my side Pops and I told him right fast as I picked him up off the bed and carried him to his bed and showed him that he has his own bed. I'm guessing it's not gonna work but have to try. I do keep my storm door locked now cause my friends just knock and walk in so until all of them know he is here they will have to have me unlock the door. Tomorrow we begin long leash training so he can begin learning where he is allowed to go and where he is not allowed to go. He does have his moments of being stubborn but then most Beagles are like that. I call it selective hearing............
  2. Yea she told me he was a mix but they didn't know with what but I did soon as I saw him and I am guessing your right Omega. I have seen to me heelers to not know that color. I would say he is comfortable but might be viewer decretion...........
  3. That is him now after his run and romp the last couple hours and playing ball.............
  4. Want ya'll to meet Obie Wan. The lady at the Rescue Center ran out of females like I was looking for after bringing 5 to visiting room and just to try she brought him into the room and the force was strong with this one and he melted my heart right away. I know it is going to take some adjusting to having a male but he does appera to be smart and will almost listen to a few commands.............Like I said Allmost...........
  5. I don't have Comcast Internet. I have AT&T go phone broadband service and I really don't want anything else Comcast offers because it would surely become a mess as they use every excuse possible to keep your bill messed up so I figure the simpler the better with them people. I find it's a lot easier knowing what my broad band is the same every month and my phone bill is the same every month and much easier to budget when you know what your bill is every month. With Comcast you never know what your bill will be from month to month without a fight..........JMHO
  6. My Son and grandsons have been wondering what the heck happened to all the deer they had all Summer and Fall on the trail cams. Normally they all have limits by now. Justin put up a bunch of trail cams last weekend and they found out why the deer are gone. Poachers on the property. He got pictures of them two different times dragging deer out during the week off to a road at the back end of my sons property. He called TWRA and they said if he has pictures of them they can do something so a Warden came out to the house and he showed them the trailcams that had the pictures , times and dates the pictures were made. The game warden actually knew two of them as he has arrested them before for tresspassing and poaching. I have not heard anymore as to what happened. I'm still hoping they can put me one more in my freezer this year anyway. I have a Doe my grandson Logan got for me in Muzzle loader in it already.
  7. Well with my limited income I have to watch every dime I spend. I have Comcast Cable with 1 step up from beginner package, I think it's the beginner HD digital package and when I first got it my bill was 59 & change. Then in February it went to 99.00 and I called them up and they said I was on a promotion price package and it expired so I told them to connect me with a supervisor that spoke english which of course I did not get but got one that understood it when I told her that is they did not drop my bill back to where it was I was cutting my cable. She ask me to hold on and all at once I was speaking to someone in Michigan that spoke really good english. I explained my delima and she said she would be making adjustments accordingly and she could not bring my bill back to 59 bucks but could get it to 65 & change for same service and I took it. She told me tha Comcast has price increases every February across the board and gave me her number in Michigan and told me to call her when I got an increase. I think that was like 5 years ago and each year I call her and so far my bill for this past year is $76.98 so she has been keeping my increases to a minmum each year to keep my business and keep my package the same. My internet is an AT&T Broad band package. Not a super high speed program but I am not in that big a hurry I can't wait about 7 seconds to get connected. I get 5 GB per month for 50 bucks and I have never used 5 GB yet. I do try to push close because it does not roll over. My phone it a Cricket/AT&T and costs me 25.00 a month and I have been with then since 1995.
  8. Is there still a market for nice locking gun cabinets or are they a thing of the past? I have 1 for sale that use to belong to BT that his wife would like to sell. I will post pictures of it just in case. It is gonna be an reasonable offer price. There ia also and anwar for sale that is in nature wood and ready to be stained and it is about 7 or 8 feet tall and I will include a few pictures of it. Pricing the same as gun case. I guess while I am on a roll she is also selling a leather double Recliner Sofa I will show a few pictures of. Pricing same as the rest. If you are interested in any of it make a reasonable offer.
  9. Yea, I don't go there either..................
  10. Well, I sent an inquiry into Marilyn to the Freedom Farm email address listed on the site. Got a replay back yesterday telling me that they could not find any records about Marilyn in their files yet my Vet called them on Monday and spoke with a lady about her and she said yes, she was familiar with Marilyn and told the Vet everything she knew about her. Ashlee sent me an email to that effect but now they can't find her. I guess that can happen when all you have is an office and not an actual kennel and depend on Foster homes strictly to care for the animals. I sent the person all of the information including everything my Vet sent me but have not heard back yet but then it is a holiday weekend so can't expect much till probably Monday......
  11. And my friends ask me why I don't go to malls. I don't go to any place that draws crowds of people, especially many young people that have their noses stuck in their cell phones and have zero clue what is going on around them........
  12. I was a dog rescurer long before dog resues existed. We lived on a country road about 5 miles inside the cook county/ Will county line and folks would come out of Chicago and just drop dogs off and I guess I was some kind of magnet cause they would seem to always find my house or follow me home while I was riding my bike. At the age of 6 I think I had about 6 dogs of all kinds and my dad would help with food when he could but my parents where raising 4 bottomless food pits. Me and 3 older brothers so I would do odd jobs for neighbors or work for a farmer down the road to by dog food and I would find homes for a couple and soon as they were gone it's like 2 or 3 more would show up. I kept doing that until we moved south in 1967 and when we moved I knew we were going to be living on my grandfathers Ranch/Farm so when we came south I brought 7 dogs with me that I had when we moved south and they had 2000 acres of land to run and romp on there was always plenty of food for all of them then. My grand father bought dog food 500 lbs at a time to feed his stock dogs that he worked cattle with. He had 8 of them and I loved watching them work the cattle and listen to the commands he would give the dogs and watch the dogs react. We could go to a pasture with 2 or 3 of the dogs and he would say fetch the cows and the dogs would go and in about 15 to 30 minutes depending on how many cows were in that pasture they would bring all of them to where he was so he could count them. If there was not the right amount he would send them back out and sure nuff they would bring the missing ones back to the gate. He made fun of my mutts and said they were a waste of food and start laughing.
  13. Ok so here is another dog I have researched and my vet has reasearched also and she says that Marilyn might be what am looking for. A little smaller than Kasey but would probably fit into my life style. "What say ye all"? Hi, I'm Marilyn. My fosters think I'm a terrier/cattle dog mix around 7-8 years old. I'm super sweet and love sitting pretty to get treats. If you're interested in giving me a forever home, contact act freedom farm at info@freedomfarm.net to ask about me today! Adult, Female, Small
  14. I am thankful for my son and his family, I am thankful for my wonderful son in law, daughter and their family. I am truly thankful for having a friend tell me I need to go and join TGO. I am thankful for all of the people here and I have learn much from them and a bunch about many of them. Most of all I am thankful to GOD in Heaven who allows me the priviledge he gives me to put my feet on the floor each morning and in some special way gives me reason to keep moving forward and not giving up!
  15. Well actually no, I have never heard that before. The Breeder my wife got his mother from called them Chinese Crests and had papers on them. My wife wanted a small dog and went to Airport Kennels to look for a lap dog and came home with his mother. The mother was given to my wife along with papers because she was considered to small to breed by the breeder. Well the man at the kennel was surprised when my wife notified him to tell him that her dog just gave birth to 3 babies. She was pregnant when he gave her to Margie and didn't know it. They looked like little pink rat babies about the size of my thumb. The Breeder made a trip to the house to see for himself. He was shocked to see the babies. This was a brand new breed that the Kennel had just began to handle and she was in his first shipment from China. It became evident really quick that the mother didn't like being a mother to all 3 pups but would care and feed 2 and she kept pushing Buttons out of the bed onto the floor. I called the kennel and he told me to come by and he would give me what I needed to keep the reject alive. He said that it was a natural thing for that breed of dog that the mother knew how much milk she could provide and how many she could raise and he was the chosen to not live. Well it was bottle feed him or let him die and I was not going to let that happen without a fight so the Kennel owner set me up with very small doll baby bottles and four 10 oz cans of dog milk for $65.00. Margie and I took turns feeding him and I made him a bed on a heating pad to keep him warm and when he was on his own and able to eat food Margie and I had a talk and I said i won't tell you to get rid of the dogs because they are yours but I really don't want a mother dog around that will not be a mother to all of her babies and Margie agreed so we sold her and it surprised me when Margie made the decision that Buttons would be the only one she would keep so she sold the other two pups and the mother and Buttons was king of the domain. When my wife passed away he became the king of my domain. That is all I can tell you about them except people pay big money for them. Margie got $500.00 for the mother and $700.00 for each of the pups. Now as far as what I know about them I just figured they were very ugly dogs that required as much attention as they can get. That is why you see me carry him in most of the pictures. His being on a leash was totally unacceptable to him. When he went out someone had to go with him or he would not go out. Margie did train him to use a newspaper when it was raining or to cold for him to go out and I put a small fake tree next to where his paper was and he would pee on the small fake tree and Margie would wash the tree. That part went away when Margie passed and the real master of the domain took over and he went out when he needed to go and if it was raining we used a big umbrella and when it was cold he went out did business and came right back in and laid on his heated bed. So now with all of that said!!!! You called him a Chupacabra but I still say he was an ugly spoiled rotten dog..........
  16. Yea he was so ugly he was cute and he had his bluff in on Kasey. She would walk a long ways to avoid getting him to growl.......LOL A lot of my friends called him a Devil Dog because of his red eyes when the cameras flash caught them just right. Now if you wanted to attract girls and women to you all you had to do was walk around with him under your arm. He attracted them like a fly to sugar..........LMAO
  17. I don't know why anyone would remove their gun from it's holster and not clear it everytime before handing it to someone to show it to them. And I never put my finger inside the trigger guard when I am clearing it or reloading it period.............
  18. I was finally able to find more pictures of Buttons. He was quite the conversation piece when I carried him around. I guess it was because he was so ugly but He did love all the attention.
  19. You can bet when my new companion arrives there will be lots of pictures............
  20. Thanks and I will keep looking and Ashley (my Vet) has also began looking for the right one for me. The place she works does a lot of the spay and neutering and giving the shots and checking dogs over for Animal Rescue Centers and Sumner County Humane Society so she is keeping an eye out along with many of my friends. If GOD wants me to have another dog in my life I am sure it will happen when I least expect it to.
  21. Well my Vet gave me the answer and it is NO!! She is familar with the dog and he does have the issues that the Dog Rescue mentioned but she said that she has actually treated the dog and it does have a short temper at times probably caused if the dog is in pain. She has reason to believe that is why the owners put the dog up for adoption. It was probably fighting with the mother dog in the pin and that may have been what lead to the ACL injury. So I guess I need to keep looking. I know you mentioned maybe going with a smaller dog but my wife back before she passed away had one that I adopted when she passed away. Buttons is bury out here in the back yard. I kept him till he developed congestive heart failure with a heart 3 times it's normal size. I lost him about 4 months after this picture was taken. He was 14 when I had to have him put down. I already had Kasey and she was about 9 years old. He tolerated her and Kasey gave him plenty of room cause he would growl at her if she got near him. He even tried to bite her a couple times but since he only had 5 teeth he couldn't hurt her and she never offered to bite him back. I will post a couple pictures of him. He was spoiled bad by my wife and he expected nothing less from me. Don't Yall laugh when you see him. At one time my wife has 5 of these critters. He was the only one she kept. I was gonna post more pictures but they are in compressed folder and I don't know how to get them out of it??? His name was Buttons.
  22. I have serious doubt he will get very many people to follow his example.............JMHO
  23. Yea, i know PJ. That is why I am consulting with my Vet before I pull the trigger on her. I know she has been pined up in a 10X10 pin for 7 years of her life. I don't have a pin but I do have a big back yard and she can run and get a lot of exercise and I know she is a Border Collie but she is also a mix so I am hoping she maybe some what calmer than a full blood. I am not holding my breath on her because Vet knows my situation as has been my Vet for many years. She knew Kasey so well that she cried when she had to put her down also. She won't permit me to make a mistake I don't believe. Thank you very much for your input and concerns my friend. Oh yea, I can still throw a Frizzbie or a ball if she wants to play.
  24. Thanks Hozzie, At first I thought I could get by with just having Kaseys ashes on my TV console and I did for a few weeks and I would look at her urn and after a while I realized that I don't just want another dog. I "NEED" another dog in my life. As much as I love Kasey and will forever!!! I need that companionship that I have had most of my life back in my life. I think anyone that has had a dog all their life kind of knows where I am at right now.
