I think "How I met your Mother" was the worst sitcom ever on Television..........JMHO

I got a Rough Rider along with 2 other guns while making a gun deal back a few years ago and it ended up costing me about 50 bucks with both cylinders. I took it to the range just to check accuracy of it with 22lr and not the magnum cylinder. Was impressed with it at 15 yards. with out being familiar with it I managed to even impress myself at how accurate the gun was. Right now son in law has it cause he was having issues with critters killing his chickens at night in chicken house. He ended up killing 2 possums and a skunk which was lucky enough to kill outside the coop and my daughter heard a comotion one evening while son in law was still at work and she managed to shoot and kill a weasel that had killed a chicken and was eating on it when she shot it. It was outside the coop and in the chicken yard. She has also killed three chicken snakes with it in the summer time. Tommy offered to by it off of me and my daughter has just told me I can't have it back "SO" I guess that is that. I don't own one any more.............................

I have also had both. The Pre-63 model 94 Winchester I still own almost anyway was given to me by my grandfather as my first deer rifle when we moved to the Ranch/Farm in 1967 from Illinois and it was one of the only guns they didn't get to steal when they burglarized our house back in 86 because I had loaned it to a friend and it was at his house. I killed about 30 deer with it over the years and passed it down to my son when he began hunting deer and he killed about 20 deer with it and now my youngest grandson Logan began his hunting career with it when he turned 11 last year. He has killed 4 deer with it so far. 3 last year and 1 this year. It has been a trouble free accurate gun since I got it in 67 and the 150 gr Silver tips rounds have always been the deer getters for it. They did steal a Marlin 30-30 /w/scope and it was also a great gun and I did kill several deer with it but didn't really have it long enough to give a fair assessment of it except to say it shot well and function flawlessly. Like a few others here have said, if I was looking for a 30/30 I would hunt down a pre 63 model 94 Winchester first and then begin looking for an older model Marlin 30-30 with or without a scope cause you will probably want to choose the optics you prefer................JMHO

Well I guess after Christmas I'm gonna have to go shoot some 22lr's. I was in walmart the other day and they had a bulk box of Federals and I bought a box only to get home and realize I don't have room in any of my safes to put them. Needed a reason to go shoot anyway so got one now........

Merry Christmas to all of the folks and their familes here on TGO and Hoping all a Happy and Prosperous New Year and above all things remember the reason for this season and Keep Christ in Christmas.

Since Tv selection kind of sucked last night, I sat and watched the Polar Express all the way last night and didn't have one scene I enjoyed more than another but I actually enjoyed just watching the entire film.

My feelings are hurt. Bersa didn't have any make the list................

your not being anal Jeb, your just keeping good records. I got to talk to a guy that was filling the shelves with refilled Rhino bottles at Walmart one time and he said they check the dates on all returns and if they are expired they will test them and if they pass they will update them and fill them to put back on shelves for exchange.
-
If they are still in shrink wrap I would take the back where I bought them and see if they will replace them. Don't know if they will or not but might be worth a try. I have that small 1lb bottles still in shrink wrap that I bought 10 years ago that are still full.

I have not had an issue to date with any leaking down and I keep a record of how I rotate my stock. I also have by big tank in my living room in a corner covered up and directly above it is a Smoke and Toxic gas Detector I bought purposely because I knew I would be keeping the tank in my house. I also have a detector out in my storage building and to the best of my knowledge it has never gone off while I was in the building and I keep fresh batteries in both. It is easy to check to see if you have a leaker. I do it when I replace any I have used. Just make up a bottle of water with dish soap in it and put some around where the valve is screwed into the tank and also check to be sure your tank is closing all the way buy putting some soapy water in the line outlet. If no bubbles, no leaks.

Back when I was buying all my 20lb tanks Academy Sports had the Rhino tanks on Sale for $11.49 full so I bought like 10 on 2 diferent trips so I have plenty of them stored out in my storage building. I will use 3 or 4 doing my grilling and then go exchange them. Before you invest in a big tank you might want to check with your local Amrigas or what ever propane company services homes in your area to be sure they do test and re-certify. I did stop in at the Amerigas Bulk station and office here and confirm what the driver said and he was correct because I have to drive passed it about every time I go to the lake to fish.
-
I had a Lever action when I was 6 years old but didn't have the ring and strap and csot a little more for sure...........
-
Yea, I didn't know about it either till I was over at a buddy's house and Ameriagas tanker was their filling up their big tank they heat with and I mentioned something to the driver and he was the one that told me to take it out their office and Tank field where they fill tanks for folks and they would test it and recertify it if it tests good and will re-date the tank. I bought my big tank from Amazon back about 15 years ago. They shipped it free and their price was best I could find when I was looking for a tank.
-
Yea Omega, I know that the date of the big tank is expired and it went out of date in 3 years. I was going to hook it up to my grill when I learned that the tank has an expiration date on it and then I learned something I didn't know. If you own a big tank like mine and the date expires you can take it to a Service Center such as Ameriagas and they will test the tank and if it is still safe they will update the tank for another 3 years and stamp it as updated. Any licensed Dealer can test your tank and update it for you and won't charge you if you have it filled there after they test it. TSC is not a certified dealer but just a refill center. As for the small tanks, I take those to Walmart or Academy Sports or about any swapping station that sells the Rhino refills and they just swap it out and don't bother looking at dates. So my big tank can be tested and refilled if I even need to use it..............

I don't have a generator but I do have a good stock of Propane. When I first moved here I was not aware of how efficient the power company was here so began planning on propane for heat in winter and to cook with. Bought all the stuff necessary to heat my cabin and bought Coleman camper cook stove plus I have a gas Grill. I purchased a 60 lb Propane tank and took it and got it filled at TSC. That was 15 years ago and it is still full along with ten 20 lb tanks store in my building and all are still full. I do rotate them cause I cook on my grill a lot but I really have been considering selling the 60 lb tank. The Power Company here is on top of their game when power goes out. Longest I have been without power was 4 days and that was because a wind storm took down a large tree 2 doors below me taking down the lines. The delay was not in the Power Company but in the neighbor and their insurance company dragging their feet about getting someone out to cut the tree up and get it of the lines. Power Company won't do that unless it is in the street and this one was in their back yard. I also have about 50 of the small bottles on hand for Coleman cook stove and 3 propane lanterns with about 25 packs of mantles. Right now I think it may be over kill but who knows what tomorrow might bring?................JMHO

Yep! Keep you eye on Craigs List and then when you find what you want tell them you will do the transaction at the local police station. If they agree you may be good to go. If they say no keep looking!!!!!............JMHO

If I had that big a safe you can bet I would be paying someone to move it period!!! I would shop around at every possible company that moves them and might not pick the cheapest cause if I have not used them before or know someone that has I will be going with one that has references.............JMHO
-
Well, let me put it this way then. Over the last 8 years we had a President that was dead set on destroying our Military and our defenses and he cut billions of dollars out of our military and I am guessing a great bit of that funding cut was to our maintainence and up keep of our Nuclear program so lets just do a few up grades to possible fixed what he may have broke............JMHO
-
Well, your probably correct and I would be willing to bet we probably already have a military warehouse pack plum full of them. I mean this guy had 1 for the demonstration and Youtube Video so who is to say they are not already in production???? The only part of it that bothers me is the lack of human control and allowing a computer to be in charge of killing machines. Especially when you look at the antique computer system we have in control of all of our Nukes at the present time. The Feds Call it "Fail Safe" I call it a "Ticking Time Bomb" if they don't get busy and upgrade it............JMHO

Well I might know why they did not kill her off. If you remember in Return of the Jedi it was revealed to Darth Vader that Luke had a Twin Sister and if he got killed off Leia would be the Last Jedi so since the title was Last Jedi they could not kill her off, at least that is the way I would look at it but I have heard a few friends talk about it that went to see it and also saw all of the earlier movies and they say this one kinda sucks.
-
Yep and if we don't make it some radical country will. We made the A-bomb and now many countries have them. There are things better left to Hollywood motion picture sci-fi programs than introduced in reality. The problem is some lunatics don't know when to leave somethings alone. One Moron will have the Technology but not the funding and some idiot with the money will want the power and all at once they have them. Remember the post of the drone with the pistol mounted on it?...........JMHO

Can local gov ban carry in parks?
bersaguy replied to TheFeller's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I try to avoid any conflicts regarding state and local parks when at all possible because the laws change as fast as the weather does in Tennessee and it's almost imposssible to keep up with them...................... -
Well I don't have to see it now since I know most everything about it but it all honesty after watching all the parts of it they showed in commercials for last couple months i was not planning on going anyway. I am a Star Wars nut and have DVD's of every episode in Trilogies. I have not got the last two which is Rogue One and this one. I will probably buy them when they are both out in DVD just to be able to pass them down to my youngest grandson that has taken an interest in my collection.
