  1. I think that it's rather alarming that a TEACHER wouldn't check out a dictionary before saying jack!
  2. Well, it is Kentucky so the blood would be in the mountains. :)
  3. Well, he seems a bit unstable. :(
  4. At least they try to get you to the page every 30 seconds.
  5. Apparently, everyone in the world knows this because you can't get into the site to order it.
  6. Great word! I have a pretty good vocabulary, and I had to look that up. I still can't pronounce it! It must be the root form of dagnabbit!  :)
  7. Welcome! I was just in Dunlap for the first time last Friday. It's a nice little area with friendly folks!
  8. Thanks guys!
  9. The same could have been accomplished by offing her self. My wife even called BS, and generally states that Sutter's dialog between the female characters is off.
  10. I'll have to get on Ruger's site now I'm off work's network. They have a firewall that blocks weapons sites.
  11. I call BS. For a character who is supposed to love her family as much as she claimed then she would have off'd herself and not made her son do it.
  12. Thanks, Cap. I assume that Compact is the only thing to be found nowadays? Easier to just add the crap I want? I ask because Wallyworld has basic 10/22's on sale for $205. I balked because it was just basic. I don't feel the need for a takedown model although early reports that I read were that they were actually more accurate...which seem counter-intuitive.
  13. Those are dependent upon the local laws, but generally speaking the former would need the poser to complain, (which he'd probably be too ashamed to do), and the latter would require formation of a crowd. Even profanity is protected speech, no?
  14. The consistency of the discharge wouldn't go through a drainage tube. That crap is thick!   It appears to be both too shallow and too far below the knee to be coming from the bursa. It also appears to be too shallow to be coming from inside the muscle compartment along with lack of generalized swelling in the area of the calf. My WAG is a cyst. I'm interested in what a pathologist will say.
  15. I've never seen or read about anything like that. The video sucks too bad to see any detail in the fuild, but it's consistency is unusually thick. It does appear that it might have "pus" in it, but can't tell from the video. I will say that no doctor would render a diagnosis from that video unless they happened to recognize the consistency of the discharge and look of the infected area.
  16. He's draining it so it's "lanced" already.
  17. I dunno. Think about it...if someone starts banging on your car what's your first reaction? If you stop to think about it all, sure, but how many would think WTF? and get out without thinking about it. Anger blocks a lot of thought processing.
  18. The last time that I looked for a Ruger 10/22 was back in the early 90's and your choice was limited. I recall seeing a 10/22 with either night sights or fiber optic sights awhile back, but haven't seen one lately now that I'm considering purchasing one. Does anyone know the particular sub-model for this 10/22 if it is still available?
  19. I disagree. With women it's not always physical. My wife is 5' tall with very short fingers. I took her to On Target in the Boro to shoot several weapons in semi-auto and revolver. She couldn't deal really well with the semi-automatics because of the hot brass flying back at her after bouncing off the range divider. When the last hot brass went down her shirt between her boobs and burning her there was no convincing her to purchase a semi-automatic and learn to shoot it well. One of the revolvers was a 4" .22 that she had no problems pulling the trigger repeatedly, and she liked it. Working on the theory that shooting a badguy with a .22 repeatedly was better than scolding him sternly, I took my wife into the store to look at .22 revolvers. No snubby is designed for target practice, so designing a weapon, (the 94 in this case), for self-defense with such a trigger pull is unacceptable. I'm 6'4" 290 lbs so I don't look at a weapon like someone who's smaller, and I certainly don't look at it like an inexperienced small woman who'd simply worried about it fitting in their hand and can they handle the recoil. My wife didn't think to try and dry fire the revolver once let alone repeatedly since she had already done so on the range, and since I wasn't the one handling it I sure didn't think of it either. Unfortunately, "all sales are final" bit us in the bum. It wasn't until I took her back on the range that we discovered the problem and then it was too late.
  20. I saw a report of a police shootout with a single scrawny dude who was shot multiple times with a .45 ACP. The round that brought him down was a round in the ankle. Shot placement rules the day.
  21. SeALs are sailors, and they get impersonated.
  22. When I take my wife back to Kansas City to see her parents I take the southern route around St. Louis just to stay out of that crap hole and to stay out of the crap hole that's Illinois.
  23. Or make sure you bring a gun to a hammer fight!
  24. I had a Taurus .22 revolver that SUCKED!!! The trigger was too hard to pull repeatedly for my wife who is small in stature. I polished the bearing surfaces and clipped one coil and the damned thing was still too hard for her to use, so I traded it off for her S&W revolver. I have had two semi-automatics that were great!
  25. In my younger days I threw out some major fireballs from a 4" .357 Magnum. I've entertained the idea of the 357 Sig, but didn't follow through.
