  1. I thought that it was cool.
  2. Personally, watching baseball is like watching paint dry: however, being from Kansas City during the George Brett years I had to watch the last 4 innings of last night's game. It seems their manager is carrying on the coaching methods of Marty Schottenheimer: "I'll get ya there just to break your heart." For the conspiracy theorists, it was obvious that the umpire had money riding on the Giants when they showed "strikes" clearly outside the strike zone.
  3. But the FBI says all you need is a 9mm! :)
  4. Nope! You asked me what I would have him do; above I said that he could have done more to begin with. See the difference?
  5. The problem is that the "honest enemy" in politics is a unicorn.
  6. Be amazed by your conjecture all that you want, but he could have had policies and procedures in place that provided his employees/associates with reasonable protection from incidents like this in the first place. Do you tend to see gun shops robbed like this? If not then what's the difference? Because they are armed? I doubt it because it's easy to take an individual by surprise whether they are armed or not. All one has to look to for proof of that is the number of armed guards taken out. It's not so easy to take multiple people by surprise particularly when they are in an environment requiring a heightened state of awareness. I'm saying this as someone who has worked at jobs that required this awareness, too. I now work at a well-known computer company that is also a gun-free zone, (not even security is armed), so if some madman comes in an kills me and the CEO pays for my funeral are you all going to run out and buy a new computer from him?   I wouldn't call for a boycott of their stores, but I'm certainly not going to go out of my way to reward them for this incident either even if I DID like their pizza. Don't get me wrong, I see his act as a kind one indeed, but I also question his motive - could it be feelings of guilt stemming from the knowledge that he could have done more to begin with? Paying for the funeral is nothing to this guy, personally: therefore, it doesn't impress me. Now if he made sure that this guy's family wanted for nothing for the rest of their lives then it's impressive to me.   EDIT: Correct typo
  7. I can't take a question like that posted on a gun forum seriously.
  8. What he did was like you or I flipping the family a penny. I remain unimpressed.
  9. Sorry, but I'm not impressed by a corporation paying expenses "related to his death." That's getting off real cheap, IMHO. The expenses related to his death are covered by Workman's Compensation already.
  10. No offense intended towards Brian, but flushing this toilet doesn't matter because some other turds will just occupy the empty space.
  11. Just as they should be charged with treason.
  12. Too late; my son is doing it already. I think that he watches too much SOA because he carries a huge knife on his side thinking that he's an undiscovered Jackson Teller or something. :(
  13. I like the pungy-stick pit idea. "I have no idea how that got there, officer. Maybe they put it there as another trap for me and accidentally stepped on it?"
  14. Ed Brown Kobra Karry.
  15. 6'4" and 290 lbs here. I have a Crossbreed Supertuck holster for both my Ed Brown Kobra Karry (1911) and M&P 40 compact. I can carry both comfortably: however, I can also carry my M&P 40C or Shield in a pocket holster stuck into my back pocket. I do this most of the time because it's easy to put on/remove, and I tend to wear untucked shirts that cover the top of my back pockets just fine. I also wear Propper tactical pants/shorts that have an inner back pocket, (pocket in pocket design).   EDIT: Get a good gun belt regardless of the holster choice.   BigK: Suspenders are the shizzle, but kind of require a T-shirt under the covering shirt. That'd drive me nuts in the summer.
  16. Personally, I think that a LASER makes you less accurate. I also believe that it's because it changes your focal point from the weapon in your hands to the dot on the target. For me, just using the dot would cause the rounds to go everywhere whereas actually aiming not so much.
  17. Well, part of that is teaching youngster to have a victim mentality. "It's not your fault you're poor; it's the fault of your opressors. You deserve to be compensated."
  18. I think that the only restrictions on Food Stamps is that you have to buy food stuff and cannot use them for alcohol or tobacco products. It very much pisses me off to see someone use Food Stamps to buy food and then whip-out cash to by beer and cigarettes.
  19. I can tell the difference, and I'm certainly not eagle-eyed.
  20.   I certainly agree there! The problem is regulating it with all of the myriad of other things that they can buy at any given store.
  21. I don't understand the relevance of her perceived weight in your story. Is it because she's not skinny and therefore doesn't need food? Is it just being derogatory towards her weight and perceived laziness? Is it that you believe that she got fat on food stamps? Don't get mw wrong, I don't like forced charity to support someone too damned lazy to support theirselves, but many poor people are fat because of what they eat, (cheap processed foods), rather than how much they eat. And I too pay more in taxes than many people make in a year, so I feel the pain too.
  22. Circuit Court Judge Thaddeus Jackson Breen: Major here has told me what your troubles are. I've been thinking it over and in light of my forty years experience in legal jurisprudence, I have come to the positive conclusion that there ain't no way to do this legal and honest... but being good sensible Texans, we'll do it illegal and dishonest!   I guess being sensible Texans is a fallacy.
  23. The vendor will tell you if they are Amish built but I've come to question that line over the years. They claim the same thing with campers when it's obvious that power tools were used Mine was alledgedly built by the Amish, and I've had it for a good 7 years now. I threw some deck stain on it to match the house when I first got it, and I haven't needed any other coats since then...yet. I recently had to put new shingles on it to match the new roof that I had to put on the house due to storm damage.
  24. Damn...
  25. People are certainly different. When I take the same thing as you the most it does for me is to constipate me and keep me from sleeping. I tend to just tough-out the pain without pills for the most part. That kind of sucks when you've had two back surgeries.
