  1. Isn't schizophrenia wonderful? I wouldn't have stopped but rather drove around him. There are way too many bat- crazy people out there these days.
  2. On another note, I read the Terms & Conditions for GoDaddy, and they are wonderfully vague in places and can be changed at whim and without notice, so it is a very real threat.
  3. Well, then according to you we should have just taken out machineguns and mowed them all down. It's pretty sad that there are people who think that way. I'm sure there were some just like that in 1776, and I bet they had no problems enjoying the liberty afterwards that others provided for them.
  4. Ah, OK. I didn't know the name of the woman that was shot so it's really my bad. I just know what I saw and that she was a veteran of the Air Force.
  5. Well, the USPS tracking system is a complete joke. Many times I get a tracking number from it being created, but the tracking never updates. I get the package before I see its status change.
  6. The video from behind her of her getting shot through a window that was way to small for her to climb through to present a threat to the officer that shot her to begin with. There were some people getting out of the way, but I didn't see her getting trampled. She was quickly surrounded by police and the person who was attending to her. As a former police officer, I am very upset that a police officer shot an unarmed woman who was not a threat to the police officer's life. Apparently, some people on this very forum are OK with that. I'm not. Something similar happened on a larger scale right before the Revolutionary War. The soldiers and their officer were put on trial.
  7. I'm sure that someone said something similar to the Founding Fathers.
  8. Exactly how does one accidentally tase his self in the nuts?
  9. Somehow I doubt that their boners are enormous. Likewise with their testicles.
  10. You will find that true of most large departments when it comes to stolen property. My daughter had some property stolen from her home in Lavergne by someone she knew. The property was taken to a pawn shop in Nashville. Once it hits the pawn shop it was too bad, so sad out of the Metro PD. Apparently, now days it's easier for the PD's to let you suffer a loss rather than prosecute the thieves for stealing or the pawn shops for receiving stolen property.
  11. My doctor said that it only has about a 35% accuracy rate anyway.
  12. And we know that some folks thing that their delusions are facts.
  13. My guess is that if they have a senator or a few representatives affected by this it MIGHT make a difference to the FBI, but I doubt it.
  14. Just look at the serial rapist/murderer cop in California that was recently in the news. Psychological screening in the PD's that I have gone through were a complete joke. It was more about your connections than anything else.
  15. FIFY
  16. So do you think that the "security researchers" will be investigated for violating the CFAA and 18 U.S.C. 1030? Personally, I think those crimes will be ignored.
  17. Yes, around that time there was a movement from the mindset of troops being just cannon fodder, but I kind of think of that as being more of a product of the officer's corps rather than the politicians. If you think about it, it wasn't too long before that time that the officers were lining their troops up in rows to face the enemy out in the open with the officers standing behind the wall of troops - giving them an extra measure of safety. To my knowledge, politicians weren't the ones writing letters to the family of the fallen telling them how their son died gloriously on the field of battle, but I think that came out a a sense of not wanting a mother's sacrifice to look like it was inconsequential. And many politicians of the time were once officers in the military. You also have to keep in mind that the military came out of a cast system that is still reflected in the military of today. Example: saluting officers. IMO, rank shouldn't be determined by the level of education because I've known some educated idiots - including in the military. I believe that today as a very educated man just as much as I did when I was a high school graduate in the Marine Corps.
  18. Ain't that the truth!
  19. When I began my journey into science I was taught that the first rule was to keep an open mind to all explanations. That's out the window when money is involved. "Publish or Perish" is a bane on the scientific world.
  20. And how many drug recalls have come out of the scientific method? And just in case you are entertaining the idea that I'm some uneducated redneck who's just spouting off, you should know that it's a pretty good bet that I've had more collegiate level instruction in the physical and health sciences than the majority of people on TGO. You should also know that I am taking the vaccine when the VA will give it to me as it is a personal risk analysis decision.
  21. You may equate the award with how many of the enemy that he killed, but I equate it with how many men on our side that lived because of his actions.
  22. Probably.
