  1. And another one over night: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/at-least-9-dead-16-injured-in-mass-shooting-in-downtown-dayton-police-say/ar-AAFjOhi?ocid=spartandhp Are these wacko's organizing?
  2. Yes, but think how bad it would hurt doing the same but driving the gun into your hip bone.
  3. For what it's worth I like the small of the back holster. I'm a big guy in both frame and fat. I find that a SOTB carried at 5 keeps the grips out of my tender flesh.
  4. This^ I've also thought of having custom holsters made to include a piece of leather between the grip and my flank.
  5. For what it's worth I've called shooting while not really aiming "instinct shooting" for a long time. As a young'n I've done it with guns and a bow, and with the latter I made a pretty incredible shot through the heart of a running rabbit at about 25 yards. I admit that I don't practice it because it goes against the grain of my training in the Marine Corps. Sight alignment; sight picture kind of gets driven into your skull, and it carried into my time as a LEO in the 90's. Training of shooters became a lot more "advanced" during that time, but in the 90's it was more about reputation than anything else. Kind of, "If you survived a shoot-out then you're qualified to teach others" type of thing. I never thought being lucky qualified you for much. I was out of shooting for a very long time. Now that I'm on acreage and have built my bullet stop I plan to do a lot more shooting. Since I have a 59 year old's eyes I figure that I need to revert back to instinct shooting and practice it.

    Quilts

My wife's grandma made me an extra long quilt because I'm tall and I like to tuck the blanket back under my feet since they would extend past the bed. I used that quilt until the threads gave out. Man, I miss that woman! The woman made awesome dinner rolls too. She tried to teach my wife how to make them but my wife just couldn't learn what a pinch and a dash were, or how to judge consistency from the feel of the dough. Closest we came to her rolls after her death was at Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston, MO. If you're ever by there, stop in. They don't disappoint.
  7. Too bad they don't offer it in .357 Sig.
  8. That was funny!
  9. While wood does expand and contract with heat and humidity it wouldn't be anywhere near that much on a short piece of wood. My guess is you're missing a part - perhaps a spacer?
  10. I filed. What everyone needs to consider is that the breach is so large that it might take considerable time for you to see a negative action with your information. All the more reason to do this now.
  11. I took it to the Wilson County Coop for repairs who are a Husqvarna certified repair shop, and they charge about half as much per shop hour as SLE Power does. They have a 3 week backlog so it'll be awhile before I know anything for sure. They did see the oil and guessed that the seal blew.
  12. Humm...SLE Power told me one year but Husqvarna's website says 4 years. I may be in luck!
  13. It looks like engine oil and is dripping of the crankshaft pulley but the hydraulic fluid reservoir is empty so....
  14. My father worked in the IT department for Kansas City Life Insurance Company for decades. Around about the time of the moon landing, he took me to his work and showed me three huge floors with nothing but rows of reel-to-reel tape machines for the company's mainframe. It's hard to believe that my phone holds more data than all of those reel-to-reel tapes combined back then.
  15. Thanks, guys, but when I say "drag it onto the trailer" I really mean to pull it onto the trailer after releasing the bypass linkages. Even with the bypass linkages released it doesn't want to move very well, and after having two back surgeries I'm just not as capable as I was a few years ago. If my grandson's and I can't push it up onto the trailer I'll have to use a come-along to load it. Now that it's rained so much I have to wait for the field to dry too.
  16. No, there were no leaks.
  17. Well, I went out with my voltmeter and looked around better. Saw quite a bit of oil on the grass/ground underneath the engine. I imagine there's a safety when the oil disappears to a certain level. Now I've got to drag it onto the trailer and take it to the shop. Really sucks that the mower is just a month over 2 years old.
  18. I'll check that. Also, just in case my vision has deteriorated and can't see fuses too well I replaced both of them and it still does not start and makes the same noises.
  19. I have a Husqvarna MZ52 zero turn mower that I bought a couple of years ago. While mowing my field the mower just suddenly slowed down and stopped. When I try to re-start the mower it clicks and you can hear a sound like a capacitor charging but it won't turn over the engine. I called the service department of SLE Power Equipment where I bought it and spoke to someone who sounded pretty disinterested but told me to check the fuses. I checked the two blade fuses indicated in the manual and they both looked normal. Husqvarna's support basically consists of "Contact and authorized repair station" when searching their site. Anybody familiar with these mowers that can give some good advice?
  20. I think many of you are missing the part where I said black doesn't NATURALLY occur in nature.
  21. Are the guns naturally occurring?
  22. What you perceive to be black is actually a very dark brown. Black does not naturally occur in nature because it's the absolute absence of reflected light.
