  1. I'm not a suppressor guy, but what irks me is that a suppressor is not a gun nor does it make the gun more deadly. It still makes considerable noise and a knife is certainly more quiet and has killed far more people. It's movies that put the stigma on suppressors. Until recently I have never heard of a silencer being used by a run-of-the-mill criminal. I just hoped that a more conservative SC would take on more 2A issues. They still seem to stick with safe issues and I'm tired of it.
  2. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/supreme-court-rebuffs-bid-to-expand-legal-protections-for-gun-silencers/ar-AACFdm7?li=BBnbcA1 With the SC somewhat leaned to the right it's surprising they are rejecting 2A cases. But in this case what kind of idiot sells/buys a suppressor without going through the well-known procedures?
  3. I would submit that it has more to do with the A-holes running the range than anything else. I once lived in Lavergne making it the closest range to me but I would drive an hour elsewhere not to deal with them. Now I have my own gun range so it doesn't matter to me anymore.
  4. While I understand your emotions, Doug, they do not change facts. Law enforcement is not the military where your superiors can order you to charge a machine gun nest by yourself. Many departments actually have policies in place not allowing you to act until the situation is assessed and command makes a decision. Police have stood by while people were murdered on the other side of the an apartment door.

  6. L-Lysine as Jackson said but also B-12. Both support the nervous system.
  7. I can't see how this lying to the FBI charge can stand either. I'm amazed that it hasn't been challenged up to the Supreme Court yet - at least I'm not aware if it has been challenged. My canned answer to any Fed has become, "I don't recall."
  8. I don't think it'll stand. The Supreme Court ruled quite some time ago that law enforcement has no duty to protect you. We'll see.
  9. I disagree. Like all political offices they measure the public's temperature by the number of contacts - both positive and negative - on a subject. He's going into the next election and does NOT want to piss-off his base. EDIT: Your "reps" can be easily outnumbered, but a veto is just by one person.
  10. It's no shock that Trump says things off the cuff. Bombard the White House with emails calling him on it and it may make a difference. Do nothing but complain on a firearms forum will guarantee nothing positive gets done.
  11. I know this isn't the response that you were looking for, but I just wanted to broaden your view a little bit. You may think that they're made for Paul Bunyan but at 6'4" I can assure you they aren't. I have the same problem with long guns but from the opposite perspective. I'd argue that big people have an even harder time finding a fit which necessitates modification to what's standard. Personally, I'd recommend looking at aftermarket stocks for whatever shotgun you're looking for.
  12. I have no doubt that there's intelligent life somewhere out there, but until ET introduces himself to me in person I choose to believe they aren't here yet. The distances are too great to use Earth as a vacation stay.
  13. Not in the area that I think got them. Oddly, they pass on the other side of the house between us and the neighbor's house They do pass through a lot in the back of my land. I have >200 yards from the back of my fenced-in back yard to the property line. I keep it cut for shooting.
  14. I don't read the Blaze but while on the way to Gatlinburg last Wednesday I was listening to Michael DelGiorno on WTN who went on a long diatribe about what Memorial Day was really about and that most have no idea what it's about. Since I was taking the entire family on vacation I had a captive audience so I decided to remind my children and teach my grandchildren EXACTLY what Memorial Day was for and what others gave up so that my family could have. I made all of my grandchildren think about what their first job would be; what their career would be like; what would their husband or wife be like; what would their children be like; and finally what would their grandchildren be like? Then I told them about the people who would experience none of those things because they gave their lives to protect my family's dreams and experiences. I told them to think about that on Memorial Day. It was a pretty somber experience but I think it got through to them. It certainly had my children's support.
  15. I don't live right next to the woods but I do live on some acreage that has a dry creek bed running along the side of the house by about 40 feet. I cleared out the scrub trees that were on the bank of the creek bed last year and put down lawn insecticide every year specifically to protect my dogs from fleas and ticks. Last Tuesday I was digging a trench with a trencher when I stepped into the grass on the bank for just a few seconds. Wednesday night I found two ticks in my hide even after having taken a shower right after finishing the trenching. Little suckers must know how to fight the current and a scrubber! My task for this weekend is to spray the out of that grass with insecticide.

  17. Out of stock
  18. https://www.gps.gov/systems/gps/performance/accuracy/ "High-end users boost GPS accuracy with dual-frequency receivers and/or augmentation systems. These can enable real-time positioning within a few centimeters, and long-term measurements at the millimeter level." I'd say it's an exact science given the distances that we're talking about. Scientist call it being within significant digits, IIRC. Same article backs up my immediate thought as that the maps are wrong for various reasons. Some GPS' lead people right to my house but Google and other GPS' show it several hundred yards away. It depends on the maps they use and their quality.
  19. I'll just say I agree with you gotta be there.
  20. I have a LOT of college experience, and the ones who get political tend to be the Liberal Arts Professors. EDIT: In particular, Sociology Professors.
  21. I relate to that one!

I don't like the M&P's either. I had a full size .45 that had a terrible trigger. I had a 9mm compact that would release the magazine on its own accord. Even got a new mag release from S&W and still had the problem.
  23. First, I predicted the correct winner, (of course a one 1 in 3 chance), but I predicted she would win based on the applications of pure mathematics and physics, but also her "invention" addressed where most of the world seems focused: the discovery of more planets that we can't reach. Second, I gave major props to the first kid because he used knowledge of multiple, disparate disciplines to create his device. The only flaw that I saw was his invention apparently does not address astigmatism. Regardless, they were VERY impressive teenagers. Applied science has always impressed me more than theoretical science.
  24. Yes, but it doesn't prevent people from making fun at mine either.
