  1. Nah, just reached my limit and needed to blow off a little steam. I have a very low tolerance for stupid.
  2. Nope, you do whatever you want. I don't give a any more. Its the lack of common sense that pisses me off. Are you mad at me for not agreeing with you? Case in point.
  3. I haven't been following this thread or any of the Covid stuff for a while now. I'm just tired and fed up with all the opposing arguments and tons of opinions and "proof" of this or that. It really disturbs me that a world wide health crisis has devolved into a heaping, huge pile of political bull####! I've had enough. I'm gonna speak my mind . For every "scientist" who makes a claim, there's another equally "qualified" "scientist" who claims the exact opposite. And to all those folks who "did their own research" I say Bull####! You already made up your mind and went searching for "proof" to support the opinion you already had. And then there are those who oppose the vaccine, social distancing or wearing a mask on the grounds of "Freedom". Admit it, you're just a stubborn three year old who doesn't like being told what to do. Especially when you don't like the political party that's telling you to do it. WAKE UP DICKHEAD! It ain't about freedom, its about staying alive! Many of you are stubborning yourselves to death! Undisputed facts: 1.The Coronavirus is real AND it can be deadly. 2. There are approved vaccines available that at the very least have shown to lessen the effects of the virus. 3. Hospitals are overrun with Covid patients who are dying in record numbers AND the vast majority of these people are un-vaccinated. 4. The average American is a hard headed idiot! One more thing, a large portion of the dead are Republicans/ Conservatives who didn't get vaccinated for political reasons. At this rate so many of us will die that the liberals won't need to cheat in the next election. Believe it or not, the future of our nation is at stake here. I did take the vaccine. I do wear a mask and social distance. I am being a responsible adult. if you don't and end up dying, don't expect any pity from me. That's my opinion and if you don't like it, tuff ####!
  4. Very interesting! When I worked for the city, I was the equipment man. That included the many tractors, generators and stationary engines the city owned. I find this old stuff to be absolutely fascinating.
  5. Blame falls on the thief. Responsibility falls on the owner.
  6. 1. Reliability 2. Reliability 3. Reliability 4. Accuracy 5. Ergonomics 6. Carry comfort
  7. The 1911 will never be obsolete. The gun as JMB designed it can be dropped in the mud, rinsed off in a puddle and still go bang every time AND be self defense accurate as well . Its probably the finest combat pistol ever created. Its when people start messing around with the original design that they get finicky. Trying to get all the tolerances as tight as possible, adding all kinds of un-necessary add ons and striving for target grade accuracy are what make it unreliable and finicky. But these things can also make the 1911 a world class target and competition pistol. So its a trade off. A good 1911 gunsmith can get all that and still be utterly reliable. However, with most so-called factory "target" or "competition" models its hit or miss at best. This is where that unreliable myth comes from. That and the fact that plastic fans feel the need to diss on better guns.
  8. I was able to read it. I got through about 3-4 of the comments and knew exactly where that was going. I didn't bother to go on. Basically, that is the attitude of most of the Northeast U.S. They have been preaching the "guns bad" dogma for a lot longer than most of the rest of this nation. Its been instilled in most of them since childhood. Right along with the liberal mindset.
  9. If y'all wanna start in on the education system in this country, bear in mind that what we are seeing today is the result of at least three, maybe four, generations of a liberal run educational system in this country. Its the often mentioned "dumbing down of America". I won't go too far into it in this thread, but I will say that today's high school graduates are in no way properly prepared to face adult life.
  10. Ain't nothing wrong with the S&W 915. It was simply the less fancy, no frills, economy version of S&W 3rd Generation pistols. IMHO. S&W make excellent semi-auto pistols which for some unknown reason have always been highly under rated.
  11. Most folks don't remember, but back in the early 70s Tennessee did lower the drinking age to 18. However, it didn't last long as DUIs and DUI deaths skyrocketed. Only a couple of years later it was changed back to 21. I was relieved that they did. I knew all to well how stupid drunk 18 year olds can get cuase I was one of 'em.
  12. Last I heard Ford, GM and several of the foreign makers were all shut down. Many of the chips are produced in Japan and several Asian countries that are badly crippled by the Covid.
  13. The actor is John Astin. He played Gomez Adams. Yeah, it was a great show. Lots of good stuff came out of it. One of my favorites. Carolyn Jones as Morticia was not only hot, but a bit of a philosopher as well.
  14. Screw 'em if they can't take a joke.
  15. How many times do I have to say it? Every Police Officer I've ever asked has said the the overwhelming majority of stolen gun reports they do have the firearm stolen out of a vehicle. Don't leave guns in vehicles!
  16. I was cruising Armslist yesterday and got a message that I had to log in to read descriptions. Sure nuff, I could see pictures, but all the writing was blurred. However, I was a member long before they ever started charging. I just logged in with my old user name and password and everything was fine. As a non-payer I can't message any sellers. But as mentioned, many are now putting in phone numbers. That works for me.
  17. I've been to Dixie Gun Works several times. But no, never really had the time to tour the museum. I thought that was just cars?
  18. If you like old tractors, check out Discovery Park in Union City. They have a huge display of old tractors going back to early steam power. Discovery Park is one of those little known gems in our state. A wonderful Museum covering many aspects of history. But I warn you, if you go, be there when they open in the morning. Otherwise, you won't have time to see everything.
  19. Never mind. I was curious as to what Paul Revere was talking about as it made no sense. But it appears to be a moot point now.
  20. I completely agree. The next guy will be a rabid anti-gunner who has had enough sense to keep his mouth shut and out of the public spotlight. That will make him 10 times more dangerous.
  21. You might try contacting George Bowers at GB Leather in Dover. https://gbleatherco.com/ He's more into concealment type holsters, but his web site does show some western rigs. George is in state and a great guy. I've spoken to him at gun shows many times. I have several of his holsters and he made my belt. Excellent stuff, I highly recommend it.
