Oh I hope I don't get dinged for this But.......... I just discovered that next Saturday is a Holiday! July 31st is National Orgasm Day! For real, its an actual hoilday. National Orgasm Day Be sure to celebrate accordingly. Honestly, I discovered this purely by accident. But since nobody would ever believe that, go ahead and make your jokes. I can take it.

Welp, my trip out of town got cancelled. Why? Their car broke down and they're busy trying to get it fixed. At least I got mine fixed today. Looks like trouble comes in bunches.

Must be something in the air. I'm going out of town tomorrow and this morning the check engine light came on in the car. Cyl 1 miss fire. Probably not much to it. Just bad timing. Oh well, much to do today. I guess I'll just drive my truck.

I read it some years ago. I'm afraid I've forgot a lot of the details. But one thing really struck me hard. My oldest son is diabetic.

All I know is what's in the news. And I'm not sure what to trust. However, all the networks are saying Covid is rising again. They say the new Delta strain is to blame. I also heard that there is yet another new strain rearing its ugly little head. Local station reported that Tipton Co. here in the west end recently had the highest 14 day surge in the whole country. Currently talks are underway to decide if those already vaccinated should get a booster shot or not. In other news, the Tokyo Olympics is now severely limiting spectators. None at all in Tokyo itself and very limited in the outer venues. There is now some question as to if the Olympics will happen at all. No spectators will cost Tokyo millions of dollars. IDK man, Seems like this thing is trying hard to make a comeback.

Nice! Definitely gonna need a range report.

Could be any of several issues from just dirty to sear problems. Does it feed and eject properly? Does the hammer stay back when manually cocked? When cocked, push against the back of the hammer to see if it slips. It might be the ammo. American .32 acp ammo tends be lower powered than the European ammo this gun was designed for. Try some different ammo. Preferably a european brand. Fiocchi if you can find any as it does run pretty hot. If that doesn't work, give the gun a good cleaning. It may have crud in the innards slowing down sear reset. Completely dis-assemble if possible. Clean and carefully inspect all parts. Look closely at the hammer and sear contact points. On re-assembly, lube it well. Especially the slide as it could be short stroking on you.

I went to the gun Show in Jackson today. Got there just before noon. I was surprised that the crowd was smaller than I expected. I had figured it would be packed. Especially with ammo seekers. But the crowd was actually kinda light compared to what it used to be. It didn't take long to find out why. Prices were ridiculous! hangun ammo was right at $1.00 per round. Centerfire rifle, especially hunting ammo, was generally $50 for a box of 20. Guns too were priced a bit higher than usual. But, the stuff was selling! Most vendors stayed fairly busy. There were no reloading supplies. So, if you need something, they probably have it. Just be ready to pay for it.

I'm a 1911 guy. I have a bunch of 'em in .45acp and .38 Super. Until recently, I've always considered a 9mm 1911 to be blasphemy. But, I have been curious as to what all the fuss was about. They do seem to be quite popular. At the gun show today, I gave in to temptation. I bought one. I went just intending to look at them. Actually, I really wanted a Commander size. But there were only a very few in the whole show and only full size guns. After passing on a Colt and a stainless Springfield, both priced at well over $1000, I stumbled across this. Rock Island Armory 1911-A1 Tac II. I admit, it was an impulse buy. I have no idea what got into me? This thing has all the bells and whistles. Its like brand new, not a mark on it anywhere. I don't think its ever been fired. But there was no box. It does have a nice trigger pull. Clean and crisp. I know I paid too much, but what the hell? Everything is over priced these days. Like any new 1911, I will make a couple of changes to suit myself. The flat MSH will be replaced by an arched one and the FLGR will have to go. But I think that's all I'll change. Parts are ordered. Once I get them in, I'll take it to the range and see if a 9mm 1911 is all its cracked up to be. Looks like today I had an expensive brain fart.

What were pre-crazy .30 Carbine prices?
Grayfox54 replied to monkeylizard's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Back when Mil-Surp ammo was plentiful and cheap, .30 Carbine still sold for around $.25-30 per round. Despite the popularity of the M1 Carbine, the demand for ammo has never been that great. So the price has always been a little high. I just checked Ammoseek and it appears that the cheapest right now is Wolf @ .55 per round. But I won't use that stuff as a few years ago some of that steel cased Wolf broke the extractor in one of my Carbines. The stuff Garufa posted seems to be a good bargain right now. Plus its soft point. I'd jump on that if I needed some. -
Cool! I'm a huge fan of Springfield. I'm sure you're gonna love it!

IMI sells their 5.56 ammo in boxes of 30.

Not bad at all. I'm not much on plastic, so I'll just ignore the M&P. Although I do hear they're great guns. That 1911 looks to be the 3" Compact version. Is it or are my old eyes playing tricks on me? I thought the Champions were all 4" models?

Some years back I knew a young lady that worked for Bank of America in records. The things she knew about their dealings with customers were awful, if not illegal. Plus they treated their employees like poop. I'll never do business with them.

I always liked him. Although he often played the bad guy, he could do comedy very well. I remember him as Joe in the old TV series Laredo. And the article reminded me of his role as the strict Russian officer in the original Red Dawn. Yep, he was one of those faces you saw all the time, but didn't seem to get the recognition they deserved. RIP

If you look at the way buns are baked you'll see that they are set in pairs. 8 buns just makes for a nice square package. Adding two more would mess with the packaging and production. So why not just have hot dogs in packages of 8?

A very valid point. Common sense and self control are absolute musts on a bike. The daughter of some very good friends married a nice young man in his 20s. He bought a bike and got stupid. Got to showing off and street racing. It ended up costing him a leg.
