This link can tell you if you have been effected. The letter, similar to those that contain your credit card pin number, contain a code to get you the free credit monitoring. You should be able to give them a current address in that link, but if you file taxes...they know where you live ? https://www.opm.gov/cybersecurity Example letter: https://www.opm.gov/cybersecurity/sample-letter.pdf The examples are almost identical except one mentions fingerprints (if compromised) and one don't; Mine were of course.

No, that's the guys who hacked the OPM, a Chinese Intel Op IMO. I was talking about this: http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/15/politics/malaysian-hacker-isis-military-data/ And these are just the ones we know about, remember that the OPM was hacked earlier than was reported. Some is to protect the investigation, some is political, and some is to keep us from realizing just how inept many federal departments are.
-
Well, if I remember correctly, they arrested some foreigner(s) for either selling, or trying to sell military personnel's private info to ISIS. Seems we are not getting the full story here, we should all stay vigilant.

My wife just got hers, I received mine a couple of weeks ago. It's big enough that if you had even one you are probably on the hit list.

Yup, three times a...no wait, four times a charm. DA published the E8 list with socials, VA twice lost computers with my info on them and now OPM. This time I am taking advantage of the identity monitoring service they are providing, my clearance paperwork is extensive and quite detailed so no telling what they can get off it.

Thieves attempt to break into Shooters, Guns and Ammo

Top California official pushes ammo background checks
Omega replied to The Legion's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yes, but remember that a Dem got elected. So if the Feds try to pass something on the Federal level, and Feinstein is trying I believe, there may be enough ID 10 Ts (IDIOTS) to get something like this passed on that level. -
I don't get your reasoning on the .40; ballistics for the 9mm, .40 and .45 (heck most small arms) have been shown to produce approximately the same wound channels. look at the earlier thread: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/91664-holy-gel-tests-batman/ Mostly it seems to be a matter of personal preference since with the appropriate SD cartridge most any handgun can serve well.

Top California official pushes ammo background checks
Omega replied to The Legion's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Perhaps some states are moving in the opposite direction, but I don't see how it makes my premise flawed: Active? http://www.blumenthal.senate.gov/ammunition-background-check-act-of-2013 Suspended but passed: https://www.nysenate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/catharine-young/safe-act-ammunition-database-suspended FOID Card, which I presume means a background check: http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2012-05-03/news/ct-met-foid-card-audit-20120504_1_state-audit-gun-rights-card-requirement These states passed the laws, and when challenged were deemed constitutional. So tell me again why we shouldn't worry? -
While mil-spec should make all mags equal, they are not; specially with 300Blk. The only way to make sure is to try it out and see. All I have are pmags, but that is because that is all I used in the military and all my aluminum mags were sold when their price went up.

Clinton suggests she'd consider mandatory gun buy-backs

This is the outcome if it ever come to pass; I actually see pockets of armed resistance being the only way to stop these Demos from having there way.. -

The problem is that what starts there gets others to try the same thing in other places. Look at what's happening with the SAFE act. The Feds (Dems) now want to try it on a national level. -
Renting them to get the feel of what fits you and what you can shoot well is a good way to go. I would get something besides a .22, ammo is becoming more available but until it gets to pre-shortage levels I would avoid it. 9mm is what the military uses and has always been available no matter what, though a bit higher priced at times. There are a plethora of 9mm guns available so you should have no shortage of choices. I have .40 cals in a Glock23 and an XDs, they are good guns that are fun to shoot and IMHO not much more harder to shoot than a 9mm.

I would order today, and call so they can hold it. It goes quickly.

Midsouth just sent me an email on a powder backorder I had and I noticed they have many powders available such as Varget, Lil-Gun, H10 and W296 (though the same) etc. http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/Dept/reloading/smokeless-powder?FilterBy=InStockOnly&CurrentPage=1

Sorry for your loss, great to hear his friends and family got the opportunity to say their goodbyes. The departed are now at rest, its the ones left behind that seem to suffer when things are left undone.

Omega replied to polecat's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I agree, she should look into it; she should do a lifetime study on the buyback program in Australia, but I doubt they want her there. -
My first gun at my first duty station was a Browning HP, had it until my third duty station in GA, where I purchased my second. The second was even more of a tack driver so sold the first. It's been awhile since I fired it, my Berretta 92 has been getting all the love since it was my backup most times I deployed and I wanted to be as proficient with it as possible. If I remember correctly, it's labeled "made in Belgium", and the mag safety is either disabled or not there. So that and the fact that it shot better made the decision on which to keep easier.
-
Wow, didn't know these commanded that kind of price. I believe I have one of the "made in Belgium" High Powers.

Let me check both in my pistol, I may of dropped the shorter one and not the longer one in my spare barrel. OK, tried it in both my pistol and my rifle and both rounds chamber and eject fine. There were slight land marks just before the ogive but just slight, no sign it was forced in. Maybe a chamber cast is in order to see if you have a short throat or tight chamber.
-
Had a good time too, even with my lead sled I can feel the effects from over 50 rounds of .308. Don't be in a rush to dump the GEMTECH, just dropped it into the gauge and it dropped on in with no issues. Fixing to measure the OAL to see what that gives. Gauge: OAL: Looks like it may a combination of OAL and maybe your chamber, it dropped right into my spare barrel.

Yea, there are many ways to cut them, I started that way but ended up getting the HB saw and jig for the speed and accuracy of things. I had a setup to cut aluminum arrows which would of worked great but I gave it to a friend when I went with carbon, though I still have a left handed PSE Fire Flight that uses aluminum but may get rid of that too. The HB saw is used for arrows as well so I suppose I can get a jig for that too and do arrows with it, win-win.

If you already have the brass then the getting the equipment is your cheapest route. They are quite small and take up very little room, these are about $32 plus shipping unless you find one in store. http://www.harborfreight.com/2-in-mini-bench-top-cut-off-saw-61900.html Then your choice of jig, I have this one: http://www.zepprecisionmachines.com/store/p2/300_AAC_Blackout_case_cutting_jig%2C_cosmetically_blemished.html at another $35. If you are already reloading 300BLK then you should already have the rest. From Grumpa on castboolits: http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?150466-300-AAC-Blackout-Brass-(Price-Change)-6-19-14 "Prices don't include shipping 1K---------$140 500pcs----$75 300pcs----$45 Shipping cost: All packages are sent USPS priority SFRB....$5.95 (Holds 300pcs) MFRB...$12.70 (Holds 2K) LFRB....$17.90 (Holds 3k)" So you see, it is better to buy the equipment and DIY if even just 1K is involved you are ahead. Of course that's if time is not a consideration, which I have more of than $$.
-
How many are you looking for? It may be something you can easily do yourself if you expect to reload often. I converted 1k, and getting ready to convert more soon just to have extra on hand.
