I posted this over in the Memphis Chat but thought I'd throw it out here too. We’re having an event at our field and just wanted to throw this out there in case there’s anyone in the area that is interested. If it’s anything like last years, you’ll be able to watch some very good flyers and even some "not so good" flyers Although it’s a fund raiser for the club it costs nothing for spectators so come on out, with or without the family, and meet some good people. Fund Raising Fun Fly Millington Barnstormers Airfield 4236 Sykes Rd, Millington, TN 38053 Airplanes – Control Line – Helicopters – Drone Racing May 19th, 2018 8am till fun is over. Competition Events, Raffles, Concessions. AMA Required for all Flyers! Guests Welcome

Running Amok In ILLannoy
xsubsailor replied to QuackerSmacker's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yes, it's time to get out of there. This is from a couple of weeks ago. DEERFIELD, Ill. – Members of the village board in the northern Chicago suburb of Deerfield have voted unanimously to ban certain semi-automatic firearms. WLS-TV in Chicago reports the amendment to the village’s gun ordinance restricts firearms that village leaders define as assault weapons along with high-capacity magazines. That includes the AR-15, which has been used in mass shootings. The new law goes into effect June 13. Residents who don’t remove banned weapons by then face a fine of $1,000 a day. The ordinance is based on Highland Park’s high-powered weapons ban, which survived a 2015 legal battle that went to the U.S. Supreme Court. Deerfield Village Manager Kent Street said if more towns banned the weapons then it’s possible the state and federal government will too. Opponents of the ban say it makes Deerfield less safe. http://fox2now.com/2018/04/04/illinois-town-bans-certain-semi-automatic-weapons-violators-face-1000-fines/ -
I was standing topside watch on my first boat in Pearl Harbor so I wouldn't say it was a childhood memory

I actually have one memory of an event that took place while I was still in diapers. Plugged a key into a wall socket and it sent me sliding across the room on the hardwood floor. Sort of like a old fashioned slip an slide . You mentioning your polio shot brought back another. When I was 8 I had to go through the 15 shot series for rabies. They gave them in the stomach, each day for 15 days. First day, they caught me by surprise but each day after that took more and more staff members to hold me down. By day 15, I think I had a hand covering every square inch of my body

Well, I didn't wake up to any snow but it's 33 deg. with a wind chill of 22. I hate to think what the temp would be if we didn't have this global warming
-
I was checking the weather forecast to see what the next couple of days look like and was surprised to see the word snow in tomorrow's forecast. Wind chills in the 20's and 30's
-
I just threw away two garbage bags full of hats a couple of weeks ago so I'm down to about 20 now
-
Has anyone else besides me started looking a little closer at hats that people are wearing? Before the TGO hats became available, I didn't pay any attention to people's hats, but now I find myself actually looking at them.

Howdy, welcome aboard

Citi group, the fourth-largest bank in the United States, has announced it will no longer do business with clients that do not meet a host of progressive gun control requirements, none of which are mandated by federal law. In a blog post, Citi group announced: Bans on bump stocks and high-capacity magazines have been a key demand of progressive gun control advocates. But whereas the usual method of activism has been to lobby representatives for change via the democratic process, Citi group is now imposing the change unilaterally — without asking their clients or customers. Citi promised to “respect the decision” of clients that chose not to follow their guidelines, and “work with them to transition their business away from Citi.” Since Donald Trump took office, corporations have been taking a growing role in public life, as progressive globalists try to use corporate power to advance their agenda. Leftist publications like the New York Times and Vox have gone so far to declare corporations the new “moral voice” of America — a stark contrast to the usual anti-capitalist attitudes of the left. But some companies are facing a backlash for their attempts to impose progressive values on their customers and clients. Lawmakers in George recently voted to scrap a planned $50 million dollar jet fuel tax exemption for Delta Airlines after the airline company cut ties with the NRA in the wake of the Parkland shooting. Virtue-signalling can be expensive… http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/03/22/citigroup-announces-gun-control-requirements-for-clients-and-small-businesses/

Has anyone else been following this ? They just had their 6th At least one man was injured Tuesday night in yet another reported package explosion in Austin, Texas, investigators said -- just the latest in a string of blasts that have killed two people over the past month. Tuesday night's explosion unfolded on Brodie Lane in southwestern Austin, the county's EMS tweeted. The victim, in his 30s, suffered injuries that were "potentially serious, not expected to be life threatening," investigators said. Paramedics rushed the man to a hospital. At least five other explosions have rocked the Austin and San Antonio areas. Earlier Tuesday, a package exploded on a conveyor belt at a FedEx shipping center in Schertz, northeast of San Antonio, injuring a worker. Also Tuesday, the FBI said a suspicious package reported at a FedEx distribution center near the Austin airport "contained an explosive device." http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/03/20/at-least-1-hurt-in-new-reported-package-explosion-in-southwestern-austin.html

The shooter was the only fatality. A female student was critically injured and a male student was also shot but is in stable condition at a hospital, authorities said. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/03/20/shooting-at-great-mills-high-school-in-maryland-school-confirms.html

Just happened a couple of hours ago so not too many details. The thing that caught my eye in the article was this: The Associated Press reported one of the three people injured is the shooter. The shooter's identity was not immediately available. ABC 7 reported a school resource officer jumped into action to bring the situation to an end. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/03/20/shooting-at-great-mills-high-school-in-maryland-school-confirms.html
