  1.   I wouldn't call Chattanooga a small town.  Since getting my TN permit I have found only 1 place in the Cleveland / Chattanooga area I couldn't  carry in and it was of all things a pizza place.  All the doc office I have gone to aren't posted.  Pretty much every places we have gone out to eat even those around hamilton mall no signs.  I am sure their are places that are marked but so far I haven't found many.  Now I have read that the touristy area's of the city are marked as well as in Nashville and Memphis but I haven't gone into those area's in the 9 months I have been living in TN.   Thanks Robert
  2.   I see no problem selling them as long as you make it clear what you are selling.   Thanks Robert
  3.   Welcome aboard I live in Cleveland there are a few from of us from the Chattanooga area.  It is also good to see people from our area.  Sometimes it seems like everyone on this board is from Memphis and Nashville.
  4. Are you in Chattanooga or Nashville?  I assume Chatt means Chattanooga but your profile says Nashville.   Thanks Robert
  5. Federal law prohibit school care without a license.  Constitutional Carry wont allow school carry without a federal law change.  You will have to have some kind of state issued permit to carry in schools no mater what the state law says.  Since I have a Utah permit if I every find myself in Utah with a need to go into a school I could.  However I couldn't carry based on my TN permit it is only good in the state of issue.   Thanks Robert
  6. Personally I love the Generally Lee video.  Still one of my favorite youtube video's of all time.   Thanks Robert
  7.   It is funny in Maryland there were a handful of guys who really loved the .40 but most people were either .45 or 9mm fans.  Most police departments in the area used 9mm.  The few exceptions were mostly .45.  Here is TN it looks to be the opposite the majority of officers seems to be .40 and the .40 is alive and well.     Personally although I did some hunting as a teenager I never actually fired a handgun until 3 years ago.  Once I started shooting one of the first thing I did was go to a range and rented everything i could get my hands on.  I shoot 9mm, .40 and .45 and in the end what I found was the 9 was the easiest to shoot.  Followed by the .45.  I found the .40 the hardest to shoot overall.  In case any one wants to know the one time out I shoot all glock full sized in 9, .40, and .45 to compare the actual rounds being shot.  I found the kick on the 40 to be terrible and my accuracy sucked I am sure with practice I could become decent shooting a .40 but I also didn't enjoy shooting it so I see no reason to continue shooting .40.  I do shoot 9mm and .45 pretty regularly.   Thanks Robert
  8.   For desktops I have heard good things about Linux Mint I personally prefer KDE over Gnome so I prefer kubuntu over ubuntu. Linux Mint uses Gnome as it desktop.  Linux supports most hardware but some wireless network cards just won't work well or at all under linux.  Web camera's and fingerprint readers can generally be made to work but sometimes requires manual configuration to get to work. Most USB stuff seems to work out of the box nowadays because everything seems to use the same handful of USB chips in there devices.  Personally I have been using Linux as my main desktop for more than 15 years now.  I have tried once or twice to switch back to windows but just can't seem to make the switch.  I still find myself having to dual boot into windows to play games although about 20 percent now will just run under Linux since Steam created SteamOS that percentage seems to be going up.    Thanks Robert
  9.   RedHat Linux split into Fedora a distro released every 6 months and each version ends support after 1 year (Generally crap unless you like to live on the bleeding edge) and Red Hat Certified LInux (RHEL).  RHEL require you to pay for support to get updates however they release the source code for all the updates so at least 2 different projects take that source and create work a like versions the CentOS project is the most popular.  Personally I have pretty much stopped using windows all together I use Kubuntu for my desktops and CentOS for my servers.  I prefer the 10+ year support cycles that I get with CentOS for servers since one wants servers to remain pretty much the same and to run tried and true versions of the software.
  10.   CentOS is the free version of Red Had.  CentOS makes a great server not so great of a workstation.   Thanks Robert
  11.   There are 2 paragraphs to this stories and maybe a half dozen details given.  There is so little information there is nothing really include to make a call on this one.  Will need more facts before we will know anything for sure.  Based on those limited facts I doubt there was enough wrong and their is enough room for doubt that anything legally will happen to the office so his worse case most likely is he is looking for a new job.   Thanks Robert
  12.   It could make it much harder to sell.  Right now my understanding is you can't actually sell the effected models in the US.  If you have one of the effected vehicles no one is sure what is going to happen.  At a min I would guess a software update that will bring it truly in to line with emissions standards at the price of increased fuel cuts.  There are lots of ways this can play out.  Many of these are going to cost consumer money.   Thanks Robert
  13. lol still laughing.   Thanks Robert
  14.   The bra looks like one an older women would wear.  I would guess the bra is likely his wife's / her mother.   Thanks Robert
  15.   TDI are under legal problems due an emission cheating schedule.   Thanks Robert
  16.   Somewhat true.  They seem to be running around 6k to replace right now (Not Authoritative).  That is one hell of a repair bill.  Then again buy the time it is time to replace them who know what they will cost.  All the current EV on the road are still under Warrantee for a few more years.  Although I am guessing when it does come time to replace them you will likely get an increase in range since batteries seem to be getting smaller and lighter.
  17.   Look at a plugin hybrid or maybe if it will be your 2nd car a pure electric they cost a bit more but their gas millage is way better.  Especially if you take the time to plug then in at night.  Electric drives are way cheaper to run then gas based ones.  If you aren't sure what the electric part will cost look for the kwh per 100 miles on the label most around 30 so at $0.10 per kwh what I pay to Cleveland utilities it would be $3.00 to drive a hundred miles under electric only.

  19.     I would put that under #1 People with junk to unload.   Thanks Robert
  20.   Buybacks do nothing.  The 3 group of people who go to buybacks are 1) People with junk  to unload.  I did that I got $150 for a gun I doubt I could have gotten $50 bucks from an FFL.  2) People who inherited or were given a gun and have no idea how to use it or what is actual value is so they figure they would get a few bucks for it.  3) People who used a gun in a crime and is looking for a way to unload the gun that can't be traced to them.   The first is a waste of money.  The second is a shame and the third means someone is more likely to get away with a crime.  None of the 3 really befits the greater good.
  21.   Great so you have a protected apartment building how do you feed the people in the building?  Unless they are growing Veges on the roof and even that you can only support so many people for so long.  The fact is New York City even with a few preppers inside the city doesn't have more then 3 weeks worth of food inside the city.  If food isn't brought in within a month everyone left in the city will be living off of each other.   Thanks Robert
  22. Last week?  :)   I am not sure it seems like every other week they are killing off someone important.  This isn't a show that has any problem killing off someone.  For me none has every been or likely will every be as bad as Hershel death.  Although Glen might be a close 2nd.   Thanks Robert
  23.   You would be surprised even a small percentage can have a big impact on the bottom line.  With that said even when I am not caring I don't go to places that are gun free believing it puts a target on my back.
  24.   Personally I kinda liked the movie.  Most of these type of movies aren't very believable I watch them to see if there story-line makes any sense.   Thanks Robert
  25.   https://apps.tn.gov/handgun/   Under help is an email address you can email to get your confirmation number if you can't remember it.   Thanks Robert
