  1. I hope she never visits the Bartlett wally world.... She would never put her gun away, spinning around and around like a top in the parking lot!!!!        One night a few days after we moved here.  The wife and I drove to the Bartlett wally world to get something for the house.  It was about 9pm...I was getting out of the suv when this young man came running up next to the door as I was getting out. He said sorry, excuse me sir push his way past the half open door....I was like WTF....I was half way out of the door of the SUV the 2nd time, when I hear again.. excuse me sir,  This time it was a Bartlett Police officer who was chasing the young man!
  2. FOX10 had interviewed White’s parents but they later called and demanded the video not be aired.“If his (the customer) life was not in danger, if no one had a gun up to him, if no one pointed a gun at him - what gives him the right to think that it's okay to just shoot someone?” said the relative. “You should have just left the store and went wherever you had to go in your car or whatever.”A family member who did not want to be identified said White should have never been shot to begin with. Court records show that White was out on bond for robbing The Original Oyster House at gunpoint a little more than a month before the Family Dollar robbery.     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sL5iqph_KRQ
  3. If your wife is having limp wristings problems with glocks.  Next time y'all are at the range, see if one of the instructors will show her the correct  way to hold a gun.  My wife was having problems with our (her) glocks when we started shooting again.    We talked to one of the firearm instructors at the range.  He gave her a 5 minute lesson on how to hold the glock.  She hasn't had a problem since then.  She prefers the glock 17 and 42 over all the other guns we have.    As per a .380 being worthless.  I did a lot of reading on the subject.  All calibers will kill or do damage. (per the fbi more people have been killed with one shot with a 22lr then any other hand gun)  People have been shot multiple times with 45's and kept fighting and lived.   Carry what you feel ok with.    I have back problems so I don't like a lot of recoil or heavy guns.    The glock 42 for a 380 had the best feel for me.   The rest of the 380's I tried had too much of a kick (due to being light weight)  the other 380's I like are sigs.      9mm's seem to be the best for me.  I would suggest to find a range that has a large selection you can rent and try the different ones.  Work you way down to the 2 or 3 of the ones you like and then spend a few days shooting just those 2 or 3.    I did this with my last gun....I was certain at the start I would be owning a new glock 43 when done....After about 5 trips to the range I now have a 9 mm shield that I love.   IF YOU BUY A GLOCK 42.........It is not like the other glocks ...(Google glock 42 problems)....there is a break in period of about 300 to 500 rounds....I had problems with the glock 42 I bought, at least one failure to feed per every 2nd magazine during the first 300 rounds.  Hasn't happen after the first 300 rounds.  It did seem to happen more often with NEW cheaper ammo like freedom munitions.  But it is running fine now with the cheaper rounds.

    Cheap Thrills

I have the two eaa guns I posted above except I have the .357 4in model.   The witness 9mm is my son's and my favorite gun to shoot at the range.   I wish it had a decocker.  The wife likes shooting .38 in the windicator.  Never have had any problem out of either of them.  Wish I could say the same about the wife's glock 42!

  6. I mainly shoot 9mm, 380, and 22lr.....for the range I usually buy  9mm perfecta or freedom munitions  which I  get  for under $11 a box of 50.  Now for  380 I order only freedom munitions when they have it on sale or cheaper shipping.   I get it to the door for under $12 a box....everywhere else around here  it cost $19 or above.   I shoot a lot more 9mm than 380...I keep telling myself i am going to get rid of all my non 9mm or 22lr guns..........well at least I tell myself that!!!!  but you can see 9mm ammo is a lot cheaper!
  7. Sorry for your loss.  Prayers for you and your family.

  12. Expect the Academy in Olive Branch in MS to have to have it in stock often.....Since it is a new store they will try to keep it in stock.   They did that with the Cordova store last year!
  13. go to slickdeals.net make a free account.. then set an alert for 22 ammo  (or anything you are looking for)  it will send you an email if anyone post any deals.   you have to act fast cause it will sell out fast.      I was off work from aug of last year to the middle of  july of this year.  I was  stuck in the bed or on the couch most of the time.  I would buy 22 ammo from Cabela's, Bass Pro, Midway, palmettostatearmory usally when they had free shipping.  I used my account and set up ones in my wife's name.  All the ammo I bought was from august  to middle of january  well after I had mended  I took inventory of my stash.  lets say I don't need to buy any 22 ammo for a very long while..even gave bricks away to friends!
  14. Funny how that is worked out!!!!!   I got the title of PeePaw!!
  15. congrats!  now you just have to wait to see what your actual title will be.
  16. I was at the FAA academy in Oklahoma City.  We were on break between classes.  A girl from a class ahead of me came walking down the hall asking if we heard about the plane that hit the towers.  The wife and I were just in the towers a month before.  So we thought it was a small aircraft that hit it.  Little did we know.  We were sent home within the hour.   I was riding with as a passenger with the person who I car pooled with. We hit every red light on the way back to the apartments.  I can still remember the look on the faces of every person who was stopped at the red lights beside us.  Most looked like they were reliving the OKC bombing.  We returned to class the next morning, almost all of us were ex military.  On our breaks we would usually go outside to warm up.  We all noticed the eerier sound of silence.  Being next to to the OKC airport and tinker we always had some type aircraft flying over ahead.  Someone came through through within a few days took our names, which branch of service we served, and was told that there was a chance we would be call back in there was a shortage of military air traffic controllers   (they did recall a few of the permanent staff at the academy who had been out of the military for years)

    WTB: Handgun

Don't let them mess with you....I own two glocks but love my shield 9mm...switch between carrying the shield and a glock 42....the glock 42 is easy to carry in a pocket!
  18. During the carry permit class I was in. (yes there are states that call it a CCW and the great state of TN calls it a HCP again what difference does it make.) (I usually say I have a permit to carry concealed.) The instructor when off about the clip magazine debate saying it is a clip!!...The class had veterans from most of our armed forces. During a break I was honored to be talking with the OLDER veterans that were in the class. By older I am saying in their late 60's or so which included a retired marine and a navy vet. They were laughing aobut how they always refereed to it as a clip and didn't understand what the big deal was these days. I amazed that we survived our military time using the word clip.   It was the slang to call a magazine a clip in the 70's 80's.
