  1. WOW, what a story. I thought about trying my hand at it but just don't have the extra funds for the sandblasting, along with the extra time. Someday maybe.
  2. Last year I was looking into this. I was going to go to "Everything Archery" http://www.everythingarcherymemphis.com/ But, like all things in life I just got too busy. Maybe this year, who knows. I have 2 compound bows, and I occasionally get out and practice (either in my back yard or at my in laws). Eventually I would like to go deer hunting with the bow.
  3. I think you answered your own question. WIth my Dillion after the 4th cycling of the handle I will start putting out a round each time I cycle the handle. On the Lee, I need to cycle the handle 4 times (IIRC) to get one round, everytime. Progressive allows you to load more rounds in the same amount of time.
  4. I started with the Lee Classic Turret Press. The advantage was that I could remove the indexing rod and it basically made the press a single state press. As I got more comfortable with it, I added the rod back in and went to town. I now have a Dillon Square Deal B press. The combination of the 2 works out nice. I use the Lee for my rifle and 44mag reloading and the Dillon for 9mm, 40S&W and .45ACP. What is it that you plan on reloading? Rifle, Pistol, combination?
  5. that was great. I would love to see that in the US but you know someone would get offended and sue, or, once the gun fighting started someone with an HCP/CCW would step in and ruin the action LOL
  6. hmm, looks interesting. Ruger sure has been releasing a bunch of new stuff lately.
  7. I picked one up last week, very nice. Just need to get a different scope for it, one I had laying around is a bit too big. I like how, even with an oversized scope, I can still fit it into the case. It will be interesting to see if I can find a bipod that will fit on it and still fit into the sleeve. I like the wood stock mod above, looks to have a smaller seam where the parts come apart.
  8. cool, care to share the process? I've been interested but it seems like anytime I look into I've missed all the auctions.
  9. Sucks, I know. While my truck is a couple years old, it's still my "baby", had some fool not paying attention and just "following the heard" and made a left turn in front of me. Well, my chrome bumper did almost $9K damage to his mini van, My truck had about $4k in damage to the bumper, grill, tire and misc. parts. His insurance paid for it, so I was without the truck for about a week and a half. All in all, I know your truck is new, but, it is just a truck.
  10. Anyone know why they weren't using patches with that flintlock? That was the first thing I thought of, then seeing the ball roll out of the barrel I thought if they were using patches that wouldn't happen. The only BP experiance I have is my dads old BP rifle, and we used patches on the lead balls. Thought the comment about Greg (think that's his name) being half-cocked and ball-less was great!
  11. Doesn't really look like "advertisement". could it be that someone has been putting the sticky notes in the magazine?
  12. Agreed 100% While my wife's aunt has no minor children the adult children are behaving like... well, we just won't go there. As for me an my wife, well, we need a will and a living will. Can someone recommend a lawfirm/lawyer in the memphis area?
  13. Thanks all, got a little more clarification this morning. Since the estate of the aunt is in the red, WAY in the red, the probate office said they must go through someone who is a PR, (my MIL couln't remember what PR stood for). But basically, everything that was owned needs to be sold in order to satisfy the creditors (for example a $10K+ bill to an ambulance service for an helo flight to the hospital). I think in a nut shell, there was some verbage wrong in the will, so my FIL who is the executor is going to give up that right and let it go to one of his sisters kids and let them slug it out. In the end, no one is getting much of anything from the estate.
  14. The title says it all, and the question is brought up due to a recent death in my wifes family. My wifes aunt recently passed away and had a will created from an online site, don't know which one though. Well, the family went to a lawyer today and he basically said that the will is null and void due to it's language. Additionally, the lawyer said that only a person who is a lawer can be an executor for an estate. This just does not sit well with me, not really sure where to look to find out the specifics. Needless to say, I have a will from an online site (legal zoom I think) and I need to verify that our will is going to be legal and binding. Any information will be appricated, Thanks
  15. That was my first thought, lead plus any other cleaning/polishing chemicals if used, would end up in your garden. Not a good thing in my opinion. Better to just toss the stuff in the trash when it's used up.
  16. If she shoots, she helps clean. She cleans and maintains her own carry gun. One of the requirements when she started shooting was that she had to learn how to clean.
  17. what a great show. Dustin really smoked that course!!!!

  19. guess my search-foo is off today, did some searches here and nothing showed up. Sorry for the duplicate thread, closing

  21. I don't think that is correct. From what i was reading, the new regulations that started 10/1 limited the fees the banks could charge the merchants for processing the debit cards. The banks, not wanting to "loose money" shifted the fee from the merchants to the card holder. I could be wrong, but that's how I read it.
  22. Tried that years ago, all that got me was in debt. I know that some people are good about not putting on the CC more than they could pay off each month, I wasn't. Best thing for me is to stay away from CC, haven't had one in years and I don't really miss them any more. 1st TN does have a cash back program and i have used that some.
  23. Neither did I. My sister (who lives in Knoxville) said she saw it on their website (I couldn't find it on the site) and asked a teller when she went in yesterday. The teller confirmed what she read. I called the customer service 800 number to verify and they did. Found this article. The fee amounts are a bit different, but a fee is still a fee no matter the amount! http://www.memphisdailynews.com/news/2011/oct/5/first-tennessee-joins-debit-card-fee-trend/
  24. Did a quick search and didn't find anything. If you use 1st TN bank, starting 10/22 they will start charging to you when you use your debit card. $.06 per pin based transaction and $.14 per signed transaction, with a max of $3.00 (though the teller told my sister it would be a max of $6.00, and a co-worker of my wife was told up to $40.00) So it looks like 1stTN is following BofA lead and is going to start charging you to use your money. Time to switch banks, yet again. I just may go completely to ING since they now offer checks for the checking accounts.
