and the $10 per firearm they would have to pay for TICS?
An FFL holder would not have to pay the TICS, as my understanding goes. When a FFL transfers a firearm only the receiver pays the TICS, not the FFL holder. In this down economy I don't understand why PD's are not selling these guns, just think of the revenue it would generate? Guess they'd rather pad the books by writing speeding and seat belt tickets.
pretty sure to kill the 3 doeaday you will need the type 94,eaiser to make a call than pay a fine.also if the deer leaves your property you need a lic to pursue it onto other folks land.
Not according to the twra site and hunting regs, unless I'm just reading it wrong. http://www.tn.gov/twra/deerseasons.html
* A Type 094 permit is required to hunt antlerless deer during this season except for landowners hunting under the landowner exemption (as described in T.C.A. 70-2-204), Sportsman and Lifetime Sportsman license holders, and hunters who possess a Type 167 permit.
(emphasis added) Regardless, I'll try calling the local TWRA office this morning to make sure I'm squared away.

It's been just over 20 years since I last hunted for deer, and then that was in MN. Now I'm a land owner in TN (22 acres in Sardis) and I'm planning on going out hunting this weekend. I've had some activity on the game camera, so I know I've got some doe's like like to travel over my property. I'm hunting using the "land owner exemption", so I don't "have" to buy a license, but I'm just trying to make sure I have it all down. I've got this printed off: http://www.tn.gov/twra/pdfs/tempkilltag.pdf So I can have my temp tag when I go to check in the deer (maybe being a little optimistic that I might get one, or two ). I also have the landowner exemption document printed off: http://www.tn.gov/twra/pdfs/farmlicense.pdf Since I do not live on the property, my ID shows my Memphis address do I need to bring anything with me that show's proof that I am the owner of the land? The way I read the regulations is that since I am the owner of the land I have a limit of 3 antler-less per day and 3 antlered per season, is that correct? Again since i am the land owner I do not need the type 094 license for the antler-less deer. if I've read the regs, if I kill a doe, before I can field dress it I have to fill out the temp tag (link above), but then I can still hunt the remainder of the day and any other kills that day will use the same temp tag. The deer must be checked in (either at a check in station or online) the same day as the kill for the permanent tag, and then I'll get a new temp tag. Thanks for any advise or fill in information I have missed.

Welcome, from a former Minnesotan! I moved to TN 15 years ago. What part of TN are you looking to move to?

Same here, antivirus has that site flagged as being a bad site.

Anyone have any knowledge of this lake or Pine lake? Both are TVA dams to handle flooding and allow fishing. I go to the Lexington/Sardis area quite frequently (just purchased 20 acres of land near Sardis) and I'm looking for some fishing spots. I've tried googling it and couldn't get any information other than to say it's open to the public. Thanks

Request for my Memphis area TGO'ers

There's a "Hollywood 20 Cinema" at Kirby Whitten & Hwy 64 (stage rd). Last time I was there the theater was trashy, the screen had been cut and "patched", sound sucked, etc. -
Sorry, not Henderson TN, it's southern Henderson County. I'll edit the first post.

Thanks for the tips

Looking for information on having a water well drilled in West TN (Henderson County). Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Bumping this up as I still need some info. Anyone in the Henderson County area ever do a "perc test"? Looking for some information on getting one done prior to the purchase of the land. Thanks

Looks like I'll be making an offer on some raw land in Henderson County TN. This is rural land outside of any city limits, does Henderson County have any restriction on firearms or setting up a small, private range on your property for your own use? Additionally, while there are utilities at the street (power, phone, DSL) nothing has been run on to the property yet. I would like to put a well in,if possible. Does anyone know what the approx well depth is in the area? Thanks in advance.

In the Memphis area preferrably, I'm looking to by a 1/4 to 1/2 a beef. I normally get 1/4 beef annually from my sister in MN, but times being what they are I am not going to MN this year. I know of Charlies Meat Market in Memphis, but I was wondering if anyone here knew of a farmer that was looking to sell some beef, pig, lamb, etc. Thanks in advance!

Are all Malco's now posted? The Cordova Malco is about the only theater I would go to, but as long as it's posted I will no longer go there. I will be sending an email/snail mail. -
Baker Creek Seeds (http://rareseeds.com/) Victory Seeds (http://www.victoryseeds.com/) Google (or your favorite search engine) will bring up several to choose from. Do you want seeds or plants? Most plants you buy will be hybrids, not necessarily a bad thing I have grown plants from HD/Lowes and saved the seeds and replanted the next year without too much fuss. Since they are hybrids you sometimes get funny results, but then again, even your heirloom seeds MAY produce hybrid seeds (you can't always control where the pollen came from that fertilized the flower).

I do some canning/preserving. Jams (strawberry, blackberry, red raspberry, etc.), tomatoes, other garden veggies, even canned some soup. To those worried about pressure canners/cookers, go get yourself a brand new one. Pay the money upfront, for a good one. They have many safety features in them now, and for a long time. Read and follow the directions, and they will be safe. We use one of our 3 pressure cookers at least 3 times a month. I had one, a 6QT model, then got 2 more smaller ones from my wife's family. Since the 2 new ones were used, I replaced the seals and gave them a complete inspection before first use. All 3 of mine have the pressure safety device that will not allow you to open the top if it's pressurized. Well, i'm sure you could if you bypassed the safety feature, but why? I've thought about using the LP burner from our turkey fryer when doing some of my canning, just haven't yet. I like to be in control and near the equipment I'm using for canning, just can't do that with the cooker outside. As others have said, get the BALL canning book, I have 2 copies myself and read, read read. Good luck

I recommend Range USA as well. BTW, welcome to TN from another MN transplant!

Thanks all, it was always my understanding that if the trailer stayed in TN then no tags required, but when leaving the state you had to follow the rules of the state you were in. I may be wrong, but that's the way I understood it.

I just purchased a used pop-up style camper and I need to know how to go about registering and titling in TN. I have the title from the previous owner, ready for me to fill in my information. Do I just take it to the county registers office? I read something online from one of the TN.GOV sites about having a trailer inspection done, is that applicable? Thanks for any help and advice.

I'm speechless as well, but then again this is CA.

Like the others have said, rebluing shouldn't cause the SN to go away, unless the person doing the blueing removed the SN. I'm in the process of re-bluing an old rifle and for me to remove the S/N it would take quite a bit of metal removal. I also have a rifle that has no S/N. It's a Mossberg 320 .22lr bolt action rifle.

Converted generator to propane and natural gas
kckndrgn replied to bigwakes's topic in Survival and Preparedness
I also converted my B&S generator to tri-fuel. I used http://www.propane-generators.com/ to get the kit. About 10 min of work and it was done. It was recommended to add a tachometer to the generator so that I could adjust the flow of propane. I did, the tach, when the engine is not running also serves as a display of hours run so it helps with maintenance.
