  1. Wet coat and cook. I haven't tried the spray method. But I saw on castboolits someone is having luck tumble coating them dry, may try that.   I think I will order a chronograph for the upcoming weekend. Might look into a hardness tester to.
  2. I forgot to put that in there. First shot 126.2gr 2nd shot 127.6gr   I added it to the OP
  3. Mihec 9mm HP mold drops HP bullets 126.5-127.8gr Not water dropped Powder coated Loaded with 4gr of Winchester 231 Fired from a Glock 19 First HP penetrated 3 jugs of water and cracked the backside of the 3rd jug, but stayed in the 3rd jug. Each jug is right at 5.5" so about 16-17" of penetration. I have read that you deduct 10% to get an approximate penetration in gel. So that would be just shy of 15" in gel. Expansion was .550" at the narrowest and .589" at the widest. Retained weight 126.2gr 2nd HP round fired through 2 layers denim cracked the front of the 4th jug but stayed in the 3rd jug. Expansion was .463" at the narrowest and .486" at the widest. Retained weight 127.6gr 3rd HP round fired through 4 layers of denim. Only had 4 jugs left, penetrated through all 4 and into the backstop. Bullet not recovered but from the looks of the holes in the jugs it expanded very little if at all. I know its not scientific, but I had fun with it. I will do some more testing later to see if the oven curing of the PC is making the bullets to hard or not. May need to push the bullets a little faster to, but I haven't bought a chronograph yet.
  4. A Glock derringer?lol
  5. So whats the Glock 40?
  6. Well that is the dumbest crap I've read in a while.
  7. Thats good to here. I need to make it out there but dont know if I'll make it. How much is the 8lb jug of Unique?
  8. Never read the comic book, just didnt like the character. I wasnt going to watch anymore, but am watching it now since you said it was good.
  9. 7.62x39-Ammo is easy to find. Less than 30cents per round. Good stuff is is 50cents+ per round. You can reload but the Russian ammo is cheaper unless you cast for it. Mags are $10-20 each.   5.45x39-Ammo is 18cents per round for surplus. Will it dry up, probly but who knows when. But with as many 5.45 guns are out there someone will likely start producing ammo for it. Of course it will be more expensive. More accurate than 7.62, mags can be harder to find and expensive unless you run tapcos.   5.56x45-You know how much ammo cost and you wont have to buy a new caliber. I think mags are harder to find and more expensive. But you could get an AR magwell adapter and use your AR mags. Not sure how reliable the adapters are.
  10. If I was just getting into AKs, I would likely get 5.45x39 and buy a few crates of ammo
  11. Tolivers Pawn in Manchester does, that would be right on the edge of the 75 miles. They offer 3 months 10% down. There gun prices are marked lower than any other shop I have been to and if you dont put it on layaway they will usually knock a little more off the listed price without you even asking what there best price is. It used to be hard to get someone to show you a gun when they were busy, but now that they have moved all the gun stuff to the back room its like a small gun shop. They dont have the selection of a full on gun shop and its not the place to buy ammo, but they sell new and used guns.
  12. If you have that low of vacuum then you have a vacuum leak somewhere or low compression. Do you have a compression gauge?   In my experience, burnt valve isnt going to cause low compression. It will cause the vacuum gauge to fluctuate. Low vacuum is caused by vacuum leak, low compression, or valve timing. Since you checked the ignition timing and it is good, that should rule out valve timing. Use the vacuum gauge on the crankcase and see if you get a vacuum reading. Check the compression, if its low you will have low vacuum.
  13. Same here
  14. AIM and SGammo are good to
  15. I wouldnt go smaller than 309, but you might not need to size at all. You need to measure the cast bullets and go from there.
  16. WTF! If that guy is going to be in it I dont think I want to even watch it anymore
  17. So how close was I?
  18. SPS Tactical
  19. Heres mine, I added a couple extra so it didnt look so bad.
  20. 12ga, 9mm, 45, 38, 357, 44, 223, ?, 35rem, 30-30, ?, 45-70, 243, 308, ? 30-06, 300 winmag(?)
  21. I had just got a new job and the first car I got to work one of the other techs had already looked at it and said it had a burnt valve. I spent a few minutes working on it and told the boss the injectors were stopped up. Took them off, cleaned them out and it fixed it. From that point on, the tech that had said it was burnt valves, started calling me Superman
  22. I will have to try and find it again, but I read somewhere that this smelter produced about 25% of the lead used in USA and Canada.
  23. Sierra bullets says not to worry.   http://sierrabullets.wordpress.com/2013/11/01/sierra-responds-how-will-the-closure-of-the-lead-smelting-plant-affect-sierra-bullets/   But it has affected my lead supply. My boss, who has never reloaded a round in his life much less cast a bullet and also thinks shooting 50 rounds in 1 setting is a lot, has said I cant have the lead wheel weights at work anymore.
  24. I used to see one all the time in Monteagle, when I worked up there. Was told it had a 460 swapped in
