So now its DOUBLESTACK! Ok MORE 10mm is always better a Dan Wesson Titan it is!
-
It's collusion that's what it is! Really? The article linked is poorly written by a Glock fanboy using press releases, etc. Many of the photos appear to be staged, some look like the people have never shot a handgun before. Aside from the Glock vs Sig nonsense. I'm sure that any issues will be worked out. The military has worked through problems many times in the past. Move on nothing to see here..... This is worse than watching the news lately. That said I think that FortyFive (ironic that is) has a point about 10mm 1911's but only of they are rated to shoot the full house Norma type loads. Springfield vs Dan Wesson anybody?

Good luck! It's been years since I did one. Keep us updated on your progress.

Rather than a lug cutter, file them. It's much more rewarding and teaches patience... Even with the cutter there will still be file work to clean things up.
-
Looking forward to it.

Rest well, good to hear from you!

I'd probably do 2 if they are as nice as the old one looks.

Great idea!

Please let us know how it works for you after you get it.

Wrong headed thinking that is!

The comments about bad neighborhoods speak directly to the thought that your personal risk goes up with EACH of these... Going to Stupid Places, with Stupid People, doing Stupid Things. Sometimes good people go to Stupid Places for good reasons, but you can almost always avoid the other two. Don't be Stupid!

I've become partial to Nitecore lights. I must be aproaching a dozen now. They're all over the place. They have an "EC" series that is side switched general use light that's reasonably priced and the "MT" series that offers more tactical features including a red led for preserving night vision for a bit more. Most have 18650 rechargeable batteries and I keep 2-4 spares on a charger all the time. I've modified my EDC light by putting a small piece of heat shrink tube on the internal switch. This makes it much harder to mistakenly click the tail switch. It still can be clicked on if wanted by mashing it, but this makes it more of an intermittent switch.

FN-49 front handguard blowing off
Sidecarist replied to Symbolic's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Look at this video at the 6min mark it shows the front of the handguard and how the gas is supposed to be vented. -
This is because it is a double stack (2011) type frame and I don't think anyone is forging those. Castings are the norm for them. I think this is a Caspian manufactured frame. The frame is cast carbon steel rather than stainless.

According to the article they dropped it 4000 times from as high as 6ft... I admit I'm intrigued. I have a Shield but its just a bit too big for what I want. I'll have to look at it when it comes out. The name is lame though.

We all had fun with the Glock 19X thread and I ran across this today... SIG's P365 to compete with the Shield & G43 http://soldiersystems.net/2018/01/08/introducing-the-sig-sauer-p365/

Ameriglo Hackathorn Glock Sights
Sidecarist replied to Jamie Jackson's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Installation wasnt bad on mine, removal of the factory front was tough though. -
This http://danwessonfirearms.com/product/elite-series-titan/ is one of my dream guns...

That's a shame...may as well be a 40 then.

Watch the wind, they're sneaky and they will always circle you and nearly always come in from up wind. I've found them easiest to hunt in light winds. I've always used an AR in 5.56, they're not hard to kill, but you usually only get one shot. I have a cheap digital call and it works fine. Not bottom of the line, but definitely the bottom 1/3rd. They can get silly expensive.

I sold a model 28 years ago and miss it. Very nice!

Talking about what? Some things aren't worth mentioning...

I would recommend the S&W M&P 2.0 compact. Its about the same grip length, but longer in the barrel. Its also a available with a thump safety, like the Taurus has. If the short barrel is important then the Sig P320 sub compact fits the bill, but a lot more $$$ The M&P is one of the nicest well rounded pistols out there. Good luck
