  1. This makes me think about the situation in Oneida county NY that has been in the news lately. That man inherited a revolver and couldn't afford to come into compliance with state laws. Now he's charged with a regulatory felony after legally defending himself... Regardless of NY law being ridiculous this is an example how lowering the regulatory bar to gun ownership is generally a good idea. Training is important but it shouldn't be a requirement to gun ownership, just like its not for owning knives, bats, cars, etc. I like Col. Coopers thought... Given that there are more good guys than bad guys. What would happen if ALL the good guys and ALL the bad guys had guns?
  2. Sometimes its the obvious stuff that is soooooooo easy to miss.
  3. Im near Dayton about 40 min from Chattanooga. PM me and we can figure it out.
  4. If the 250 takes the same grip module as a P320 I have one in compact size you could try along with mags. Let me know.
  5. I have several old saw blades... I might be able to keep GT in material for a while! Ill admit to a knife addiction and I get some satisfaction seeing GT's knives sold out before I see them for sale... It saves me from the temptation!

    Glock 19x

Im the opposite. I cant seem to shoot glocks well. I tried and failed several times. I was and am still a sig guy, but have had great luck with the M&P 2.0. If it needs a new home I promise it wont be lonely....

Order and install a factory weight recoil spring (wolff makes good ones). These are good guns and if it hasn't been butchered with a dremel then the best reliability advice is keep the proper recoil spring in it. Clean it, shoot it, enjoy. (Repeat as needed)
  8. I might head down for the cruise-in. Weather dependent...
  9. I dont trust cables...they're to easy to cut. Steel cable bike locks are easy to defeat with electrical cable cutters. The cable that is used for most in car lock boxes isn't any better. They arent much more secure than just locking the doors. If you choose a safe bolt it or chain it. My 2 cents.
  10. For those that care... The silver ones are PLA, the red is ASA. ASA is harder to print but more durable. It was a fun project. I hope they hold up enough for a couple of laughs. Enjoy!
  11. Welcome I made the move several years ago and love it. Everyone here at TGO has been great. It soooooo much better to live in a placs where we can preserve our rights rather than fight to recover them.
  12. Buy some extra recoil springs and go for it. The fastest wearing part on it is going to be that spring. Replace it every 1-2k rnds and shoot all you can stand. Report back on your milage as it progresses.
  13. 6 hours to print in PLA supports were a bit of a pain, but supports always are. The PLA isnt the most durable or heat resistant material, but as a novelty its interesting....
  14. I'd put 800 on it and be a little flexable....
  15. I may give it a try. It wouldnt be too bad with an SLA printer, or with soluble supports. I have neither, but may try it anyway whwn i have time to try it. If i have success ill post it here.
  16. I'm lucky now, but there was a time when I was burned out and miserable. I had to learn that I MUST set limits and look after my own health and wellbeing. Turning off the electronics even for a short time every day is critical to my mental health. I'm involved in non electronic hobbies etc. Constant contact, emails, texts, etc. will wear you down. Peejman offered good advise. I hope it all works out for the best.
  17. I've seen Buddy Guy many times and he does this sort of thing frequently. It's great to see artists that give kids like this the opportunity of a lifetime. This made my day. Thanks
  18. I had to order it. The HST is in LE boxes. I think it was SGammo.com
  19. 124gr HST in the 9mm, 230gr Critical Duty in the 45acp, Critical Defense in the 380. This is based on research i did two years ago. I also bought a three year suply at the time. If possible buy 50rnd boxes it saves a surprising amount of money. I'm not a fan of boutique ammo. I prefer something that LE might choose.
  20. I used to have a bunch but sadly I lost them all in a boating accident. I miss them!
  21. Try this... when dropping the slide on an EMPTY chamber WITHOUT a magazine in the gun. NO ammo around etc...... Pin the trigger back then release the slide with the slide stop. This keeps the disconnector down as the slide slams home, and eliminates the bounce of the trigger & disconnector. If the hammer falls there are issues hammer/sear engagement. If the hammer stays back release the trigger and listen. There should be a click as the disconnector moves up. If you have a trigger scale measure the pull after this test. Compare the pull to when the hammer is thumb clocked on an EMPTY chamber. If there is a difference in pull weight then the hammer/sear geometry is wrong. I learned this from an old bullseye shooter with a box full of Jim Clark guns. Dropping tge slide on an empty chamber it much tougher on a gun than when its dropped on an empty chamber.
  22. Remington 581 22lr. Christmas gift when I was 10. Just passed it on to my son as a house warming gift. He loves it and it's good squirrel medicine for his new home.
  23. Good luck with your search. Another option is to use your suspenders to support a belt that is a bit more loosely fastened. The stiffer the belt the better if you try this. Something else might be a paddle holster worn without a belt. Not ideal but with your suspenders it might work.
