IDPAs web sight lists TAC2 as an affiliated club. I guess this makes the matches sanctioned per post #15. Dr. Bryant also teaches classes a couple times a year that are very good for a new shooter.

I have shot in Greenville, on the second Saturday and Bristol on the fourth Saturday when I can for several years. I am sure you and any new shooters will be welcome at both places. I believe TAC2 would be closer than Oak Ridge, it is off exit 30 I think.

I have bought guns from Byrds in Jonesboro, Crowders and Mahoneys in Johnson City, Volunter in Bristol and GunRack and Gunslingers in Kingsport. I would buy from any of them again except Crowers, Last couple of times I was in there they didn't have much in stock. With that said if they can't get close to the price I have also bought from Gunbroker and Buds gunshop and had them shipped to Mikeys near Rockingham boat dock between Johnson City and Kingsport

I had a great time and shot with a good squad. We had to wait on several stages because we were behind the super squad and most of the time only about 2 people were resetting and pasting targets. All the ROs were very nice and did a good job.

Buying a safe is the best money I have ever spent.I have a monitored alarm system also that has a switch in the safe. I live inside the city limits with police and fire response times around 5 minutes. like the post before said an alarm won't protect your guns during a fire but a safe won't protect you while your asleep.

I went to the local DMV office on 3-11-09 and got a stamped reciept and still have no new permit.

I have a Springfield 1911 9mm in stainless steel. It will shoot any reload round I have tried and is the most accurate shooting pistol for me. I would also look at S&W 1911 in 9mm I have only seen them on the internet auction sites.

I have always been treated well at Wideners and have never seen them treat anyone different than me. it is great to have them near and not have to pay hazmat and shipping. They like everyone else didn't see the panic buying coming and I think they are doing the best they can.

I borrowed my brothers RCBS around 20 years ago and still have it. I also have Dillion 550.

Two friends and I drove down from Kingsport and had a great time. We have shot in Bristol Va.,Greenville Tn., and Boone Nc. Oak Ridge has the best lay out, good parking, easy to get to by road, all bays close together and no steep hills. The match was well ran with very little waiting for the next stage. We will try to get back in March and If the weather is good I would bet over 100 shooters will show up.

I had one of the earlier ones and the frame broke near the left rear corner. Taurus replaced the frame. The millenium pros are made a little different.

The header with fake viagra, diet pills ,etc makes me cautious.

TAC 2 is not shooting on the first Saturday for a couple of months this winter. Second Saturday is still on. Dr. Bryant also teached several handgun classes that are more advanced than the concealed carry classes. IDPA is also shot near Bristol Va. at Kettlefoot Gun club on the 4th Saturday.
