Depends on the destination for the day and/or what I'm wearing that day.

Many moons ago I was looking at American Indian culture, and in a book I read there was a test to determine your "totem" creatures. Three of my more, impressive creatures were the eagle, wolf and bear. We won't get into the part where it lists my least impressive ones, lol. There were limited online venues in those early days of computing, but all of the sites that allowed one to use words instead of numbers already had users with just about any variation of those three. Finally, found a combination that worked, using a bit of lore from that old Daniel Boone story, where he alledgedly carved in a tree, "Danl Boone kilt a bare here." Voila, barewoolf, lol. Now I'm often accused of being a wolf in a bar, but heck I don't even drink or go to bars...guess it's time to think up a better screen name.

Taurus .38 Ultralite revolver Grip Question
Defender posted a topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
A friend of mine's wife has the Taurus Ultralite .38 revolver, I think its the model 85UL. He bought a set of those pink grips to replace the black "ribber" grips that came on the gun. He didn't relaize that the grips were held on by that screw on the bottom of the grip, so he peeled away the old grip, lol, destroying it in the process. Thewn he brought it in and asked me my opinion. After i removed the screw and com-pletely removed the old grips, I noticed atht the new grips he had would not fit. The channel on the inside of the new ones is more curved than is the frame of the gun backstrap, and they attach differently than ones using that screw. I looked on the Taurus web site and didn't see anything that cleared the question for me as to what grips to get. He's gonna take both the grips and the gun back to the store where he bought the new grips form, and see what they can do, but I was wondering if anyone knows about the differences in Taurus grips. Their web site just lists replacement Taurus grips as either SMALL or Compact. -
I carry my full size FNP-45 mostl of the time. I have to wear sauspenders to keep my pants up, but am used to it, lol. I say carry if the weight is acceptable.

I wonder if this is something we can get the legislature to work on this year? Is there any reason why we CAN'T get it set up so that the stolen gun database or at least a limited portion of it, can be accessed by the public on the internet? We don't need all the details, just whether or not the gun had been reported stolen or not. I woulkd think that this would actually help LE in that it might help slow down the flow of stolen guns for resale.

Anybody know a reputable transmission shop in Nashville?
Defender replied to mikadosoft's topic in General Chat
That happened to me also. I had never changed the trans fluid or filter on my Aztek, and one day i let the oil changing place talk me into doing this as the "manufacturer recommended it." That was the kiss of death for THAT tranny. About 1500 bucks later I was back in bidness. If no one recommends a place I will look up who got mine going and post. -
Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc., but Isee that they have been bought by another company. They have been here for many years under several names. they used to make the C-5 wings at one time: Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. was acquired by Triumph Group, Inc. in June 2010 and was renamed Triumph Aerostructures - Vought Aircraft Division.

I think the OP was referring to the recent outcome of federal court trial of that terrorist that was acquitted of all charges but one. Holder had stated kind of samartaleacky, that of course we can take care of this in Federal court instead of a military triubunal...well apparently not.

Once, when I was in the USAF, I was on a Marine base using the bathroom at the NCO Club. Standing next to me at the other urinal was a Marine. He finished before me and was washing his hands as I started to walk out. He looks up at me in the mirror and said, "You know, Airman, in the Marine Corps we're taught to wash our hands after we go to the bathroom!". I said to him, "well, Marine, in the Air Force we're taught to not piss all over our hands"! You'd think I pissed on his mother, LMAO. Apparently, some Marines don't have a sense of humor!

I lived in a small town named Godelhousen, near Kusel which is near Baumholder....used to ride my bike across the mountain to Baumholder alla time. I loved it in Germany. Wouldn't wanna live there permenantly, but I coulda used a few more years. loved the German women, beer, food and with me being a history buff, and a WWII buff, I was in hog heaven most of the time, lol.

I see MANY posts on this board where people refer to Knoxville as K-Town. Every time I see that, I initially think they are referring to the K-Town I knew in Germany, Kaiserslautern! For many years it was the largest American Miliotary Community outside the US. I think it may still be. It comprised several USAF bases and sites and numerous Army facilities as well. When i was there the last time, there was over 70,000 military and dependents in that area. I was assigned to the 569th US Forces police Squadron there, but was transferred to Ramstein Air Base. I'm sure anybody here who has served in Germany knows what I'm talking about. No point to this story, just remembering a place far away, lol.

I echo the sentiments above. Thanks for your service to our country. God bless you and God bless America!

Beautiful gun. The National Arcjives has a pretty simple way to request copies of records, including records associated with decorations and the Medals themselve, all online. Your dad would have to sign the paper, but all you do is go to eVetRecs: Request Copies of Veterans Military Personnel Records thne click on evetrecs, then fill out the online form, submit it electronically, then print out the signature page, have him sign it, then fax the signature page back to them. Depending on the difficulty in locating his records, you could receive the documents as soon as a week or so. I use this for many of my clients, and it works. For deceased veterans, the next of kin can do the same thing. The old way of manually filling out and mailing the request typically took months to process.

ZOMBIES AHEAD!!!! (New TV show on AMC - Premiers Halloween night)
Defender replied to monkeylizard's topic in General Chat
Caught the episode last night...loved it. Now I gotta find and watch the ones I missed. -
A long time ago, in a place far far away, I was a shift supervisor for what we called a flight of USAF cops. I had about 100 or so security cops and maybe 20 law enforcement cops under me at that time. Even on a militaryh base, in a pretty secure environment, bad things still happen. Have ya'll ever hgeard about that one case out west where a USAF cop brought down a BG from over 60 yards away with his USAF issue 9mm Beretta. "Another significant event at Fairchild AFB (Washington State) occurred on June 20, 1994 when a deranged ex-Air Force member entered the base hospital and shot and killed five people and wounded many others. The gunman had just been released from Psychiatric treatment at Fitsimmons Army Medical Center after being caught having sex with his mother by a dorm chief over a year earlier. At the time Fairchild's hospital was ungated. The gunman flew back to Spokane after his release, went to a pawn shop and bought a MAK-90 rifle. He then hailed a cab to the hospital. The gunman was killed during the rampage by a responding Air Force security police officer, who shot him as a bystander distracted him from his presence. The security police officer was on his bicycle at the time of the rampage, responded and shot Dean Mellberg from over 60 yards (50 m) away with a 9 mm handgun with a shot to the head and chest. After an investigation it was concluded that the Air Force security police officer was justified in his actions saving countless lives, he was awarded the Airman's Medal by President Clinton. "

I'm certainly not gonna talk to her. Heck, my 11 year old daughter can twist my words around to make me say things I dont mean to, so I'm sure a reporter, fledgling or not, could easily do the same. But I kinda disagree with the trend here...trap or not....is there not someone here that is well spoken enough (David?) who could take this on in an effort to get our side told? Their side will be told regardless, and it seems to me that when our side gets publicity, its through the use of people like Kwik, who plays right into their hands. Are they smarter than we are?

Lighten up, man...it was a joke.

Due to the expected surge in new voters, they have just announced that there will be two election days. Democrats have been scheduled to vote for tomorrow, while Republicans will vote today. I'm glad I could help get this public service mesage out!
