  1. Does anyone know of any hicap magazines made for any of the common .22LR pistols. Seems like all I see are 10 round max. I have several, and all have a 10 round magazine.
  2. I googled Iowa's carry law and the site I picked was a PDF file ( www.dps.state.ia.us/asd/weapons/wbrochure.pdf) was dated 2005. Seems like their laws are as bad or worse than ours...sheesh. But it's refreshing to see that some Federal judges are not nuts.
  3. My PF-9 had some Fail to feeds and fail to fires last time I was at the range. I am afraid to carry it now, even in the backup roile I got it for, and want to send it back for repair to the co. I e-mailed them and they saud to Fedex or UPS it to them. Has anyone had any experience with a. shipping a firearm back via fedex or UPS, and/or b. having Keltec repair a gun.I've heard that they will sometimes do a fluff and buff as well as repairs...does one have to ask for this? Would like to hear any experiences or advice you can give.
  4. A couple chunks of the Berlin wall I collected myself from when it was still there...
  5. I'll tell you why this guy may have seemed confused....his orders were so secret they stated, "Burn before reading!"
  6. Did some more research online and ran across my answer at A-Team, The (2010 - imfdb :. guns in movies :. movie guns :. the internet movie firearms database). Lieutenant Charisa Sosa (Jessica Biel) carries a Beretta Px4 Storm Compact as her personal sidearm.
  7. ok I went to see it today for some pure unrealistic fluff, lol. And I was not disappointed in the unrealistics thruoghout the entire movie. But there was one scene where a female LT was pointing her gun on a street, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of gun it was?
  8. I've got an old S&W clip on folder that has taken a beating and is a great everyday carry work knife. But my Gerber Military Tactical LMF II - A.S.E.K. Knife has got to be my favorite though...Ain't hardly anything it wont do, lol.
  9. Ummm, I coulda told ya she was an idiot b\without the scenarios, lol. Just kidding...
  10. kinda sorta...there has been an additional 25 a week added by the feds for the past year, plus now they add 15 per week per dependent up to 50.
  11. I work at a Career Center helping military veterans find jobs. I have noticed that when all these extensions are allowing people to collect unemployment for almost 2 full years...many of them don't even come look for jobs. I have had a great influx of people lately and when I ask them why they are coming in now looking for jobs. the response is that no more extensions on my unemployment, goitta look for some work now! I am not kidding or exaggerating. I honestly do sympathizes with anyone who is out of work, and I KNOW how hard the job market is right now, but ... we are enabling many who make adjustment to be able to live on unemployment without even looking for work... now I know this doesnt apply to everyone, and I feel sorry for anyone who genuinely cant find a job but jeez...and also who's gonna pay for all this? Our grandkids?
  12. I applied with THP back in 93 when I retired from the USAF. I was on the register and got several letters asking me to come in, but my career goals took a different tack, and I never did. Not interested anymore, but it's odd that after this long, I also got one of those letters...would have thought my name was long gone from their records, lol.
  13. I'd love to have the 44 mag version...wonder what it will go for?
  14. What you talkin' bout, Willis?
  15. I like it....of course change always takes some getting used to but its much easier actually. One question, are the personal identifier comin g back where you can see the NRA. military, LEo status of posters ?
  16. I do like Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle. Also Frank Herbert. But as far as the end of the world type theme, the first I remember reading was Andre' Norton's Daybreak 2250 AD...50's vintage but I must have read it around the late 60's/or very early 70's.
  17. I have read most of The Ashes series. Have been reading them since the 80's. I will try to find the ones by Ringo and by Ahern. Don't think I've read those. I read Lucifer's Hammer years ago, and am gong to re-read that one soon. Thanks a lot for the input!
  18. Lately, I've gotten interested in a certain style of fiction. Specifically, that type which is oriented around survival, post apocalyptic life, TEOTWAWKI, etc...I read The Road, One Second After, and a few others, and saw some reviews for these as well as some written by Boston T. Party. Anyone around the middle Tennessee area have any of these they might be willing to let me borrow? I already checked the public library and they dont have any.
  19. I don't know the answer, either nationally or locally, but anecdotally, I'm an avid newswatcher, and I can remember only 2 locally that had negative attention in the last few years. one was a guy getting robbed outside a store at Rivergate mall, and he hit an innocent bystander when returning fire at a robber. Cant remember if he was charged though...the other was a guy in Antioch that had a business...he shot and killed a robber one time, and then another time he chased a robber out of a business and was shooting at them as they left....seems he took some criticizm at least on the second incident. I think i remember the report saying the police said he was not in danger and shouldnt have tried preventing the bad guy from leaving. I think he was charged in that one. Also, as far as LEOs is concerned, it is NOT LEO bashing to admit that they are also poorly practiced on average. and the FBI has even recently released a report that states that on average, the typical street thug is more practiced in street shooting AND MORE ACCURATE than is the average cop. I think that report, or a link to it was posted on this forum several months ago. I think the bottom line here, is that the Rayburns are simply cowards in trying to get the law to do for them what they lack the courage to do for themselves. If it was JUST a matter of him feeling that strongly,m he would just post his places, despite the possible loss of patronage that that might incur. instead, he tries ot make all his competitors post as well.
  20. I've noticed many here have some nice military signature graphics. I would like one too, so I looked around and most I found charged to make them, but I found one site that didn't and made one there, that was ok...not as nice as the opnes you pay for but...anyway, I cant seem to figure out how to make it work here on TGO...I had a text signature that worked and I tried to add the other one and it shows up when i look in contrtol panel, but it doesnt show in my posts like other members ones do. I tried deleting the text sig and using only the graphic but that didnt weork either. I tried saving ity each time. Do i need to insert the html code of somethjing instead of the png file? Seems like I tried that too...Any hep would be apprciated, both in getting it to work, and also if you know a better free place to get one other than myarmedforces.com
