  1. I was talking specifically about 9mm PSA ARs. 5.56/.223 aren’t nearly the drama queens a 9mm can be
  2. Basically every feeding malfunction there is. Seems like a 50/50 chance they will run, even if left stock. I know one guy who has them figured out and likes them, but he has a long machining background.
  3. Some of the holster makers are actually making gun holders, not holsters. I’ve shot mostly Limited division in USPSA and I’ve never seen Glock dominate Limited—that’s always been 2011 territory. I have used a Glock 24 extensively (and made Master with it) and was always regarded as the oddball in the division. Glocks being used less in Production makes sense because right now all the rage is heavy guns, which usually starts with a steel frame. In fact, USPSA changed the Production weight limit to 59 oz, which is bizarre to me, but if shooters want to strap bricks on their guns to supposedly make them shoot flatter, they can knock themselves out. DA autos with 2 pound SA triggers have gradually become more prevalent and are now the majority (in Production). CZ Shadow 2 pretty much dominates Production now. I like CZ, but I’m not a DA fan. I get them lumping STI and Staccato together, but there were probably very few Staccato guns used. They don’t really make anything that is useful for USPSA.
  4. PSA is the budget route for PCC. I’ve seen lots of people have plenty of trouble with them. For the serious PCC shooter, JP is the buy once-cry once solution.
  5. I did. Got my first ever flu shot back in 01 or 02 and got the world class Olympic gold medal ass-whipping super flu a month or two later. I don’t believe the shot caused it, but it sure as hell didn’t help me. After that, I decided flu shots were BS and haven’t wasted time with them since.
  6. I didn’t check their site to see if any are available for the guns you mentioned, but Dawson Precision makes front and rear sights and sight sets with lots of options. A shorter front sight is cheap and would fix your problem. https://dawsonprecision.com/gun-sights/
  7. He’s a handsome fellow. Somewhere there’s a pic of a black tomcat we used to have on a high shelf in my dad’s storage building supervising my dad loading ammo.
  8. Athlon Argos BTR gen 2 1-8. Haven’t shot it much, but so far so good.
  9. This was a pole on Billy Maher Rd
  10. I'm not trying to call anyone's baby ugly, but is the real or perceived recoil reduction benefit of a comp worth the extra muzzle blast? Open division guns massively reduce recoil, but are specially tuned with red-hot ammo that makes all the gas required to make the comp actually function. The trade-off is they are extremely loud. I doubt the comp-equipped guns marketed to defensive types are as loud, but I am skeptical if they are worthwhile.
  11. Nope, the burglars were trying to stay warm. Ours came on about 2am yesterday morning. I was asleep under a stack of blankets and didn’t know it had come back on. With the thermostat still on 68, the heat ran for A WHILE and I thought I had pissed in the bed when I woke up.
  12. No idea how long they have been around, but I started hearing about them maybe four or five years ago? And you are correct, bring a few paychecks if you hope to buy one.
  13. Atlas 2011s are fairly common in USPSA for Limited and Open division. I’m currently experimenting with their 140/40 mag with my STI Edge.
  14. I turned around and talked to a guy there. He said nobody was hurt.
  15. I don’t think this was a drooping limb issue…
  16. No power at the house for almost 24 hours. Tis cold. Trees down everywhere. Wife is pissed…because she can’t dry her hair Saw this on the way to work:
  17. Because it makes tacti-cool nimrods rush to the gun shop?
  18. No need - most lefties know that dumping the mag with the trigger finger is better than reaching with their thumb.
  19. I'm sure it could be done. The problem would be that the proprietors would probably soon decide to sell to ammo manufacturers, and then Johnny Public is right back where he started.
  20. Thanks! It started life as a blue carbon steel gun. STI's bluing is sometimes iffy and I apparently have alien acid sweat. After six months of hard use, it looked like a WW2 Remington Rand and I sent it to STI to get hard chromed before it completely rusted away. When it came back and I opened the box, I just about lost my composure. Some have thought it's just a safe queen, but it has 20-25K rounds through it and has won eight or ten IDPA ESP division titles. In some other thread I think I said a Glock 34 is my all time favorite handgun. I may have lied...
  21. I didn’t see any mention of the cops lying to suspects in the article.
