That's a DA. Everyone is suggesting fairly expensive gun so I guess I'll throw out a cheap option. Coming from Serbia (yeah, them) is a single stack SAO 9mm all steel called the Zastava. I had one here and sold it, for IIRC $269. It is obviously based on a Tokarev, looks a lot like one. Very slim. Like most com-bloc stuff (or former cb in this case) it isnt technologically sophisticated or well fitted but it will work.

Stop. You're killing me. I had one of those things as a kid in the '60s btw.

They have that color and also black/gold. They are hideous. I had 2 Bulldogs through the shop. First one wasnt too bad. Second one was so poorly made I sent it back. Lock up was sloppy. On a new gun. They are cheap shoddy guns. Sorry. The old Charters were fine. The new Charter2000 suck. They are the only available guns in the new .327 Federal though. My distributor tells me a lot of shops use them as eye candy to sell other guns.

I had one on an Argentine HP I owned. I could see the utility of it for fast acquisition but for shooting at smaller targets, yeah, it pretty well destroys the idea of sights. And Verbal Kint, you should be ashamed of yourself. No, really. I mean it.

Tennessee carry permit class in spanish?
The Rabbi replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Check up from the neck up time. I hadnt realized this was the same person who thought open carrying a pistol and knocking on people's doors might not be the best idea in the universe. -
Right here: And yes, the Smith up above sure looks like a 586 to me. The 686 is a stainless model, as 6 designates stainless in the Smith universe.

Is Brush Creek shooting on Mothers Day?
The Rabbi replied to dunndw's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
What about Motherf****s? -
I know where you could pick up a brand new Model 19 at a very reasonable price. I don't know about the Ashley Big Dot though. Without it the gun is pretty much useless. Might as well lie down in the street and die.

Tennessee carry permit class in spanish?
The Rabbi replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
At 10 feet or so most legally blind people would probably be able to see well enough. As for passing the range part: last story I heard was a man with terrible palsy. He shot well enough at the closer rangers so that when he got to the farther ranges he could have fired in the air and still passed. Ad Eyebedam, it's pronounced "teef". -
Tennessee carry permit class in spanish?
The Rabbi replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
There are 2 issues. The first is an instructor teaching in Spanish. It would be a great way to differentiate yourself from others and makes for a good marketing tool, imo. The second is whether gov't should encourage non-English languages in official areas. I personally don't think they should as officially "multi-lingual" societies (Belgium, Canada, South Africa) tend to have their own problems. -
Tennessee carry permit class in spanish?
The Rabbi replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
It's like waving a red flag at a bull sometimes. Aren't driver's license examinations given in languages other than English? If so I dont see any problem with an HCP class given in something else. fwiw, my great grandfather came here in the 1910s and lived here until the mid-50's when he died. He never learned English more than just a few words. It was a choice he made. As for the basic question of whether someone who cannot speak English has a right to defend himself, I think that ought to be obvious. Self defense is a human right. It is not limited to American citizens or people who speak a particular language. A person who gets a permit and carries without knowing English is about like a person who carries with only a rudimentary knowledge of how the gun works. They are taking a great risk. But it is their risk to take. If they're comfortable doing it, then OK. And I'll add that expanding the demographics of gun owners is about the only way we're going to survive. I have been trying since I opened to come up with a way to attract non-white non native Americans to my shop. ANy ideas would be appreciated. -
Anyone own one of these? Thinking about getting one for carry. I had an LDA-something a number of years ago. It was OK but that big double stack .45 was a PITA to carry all day. Eventually traded it for a SIG P239 in 9mm and never looked back.

If you dont carry a Glock 19 with an Ashley Big Dot front sight, you might as well lie down in the street and die.
-
I'll second this and add the CW45: polymer, compact, .45acp, and affordable.
-
They come as a "hunting rifle" configuration and will not take standard AK mags. So to add a pistol grip and mag well you have to convert them, which I hear isnt that hard. I sold one just this week to a list member. I carry them often. Of course you can, I am certain, find them cheaper elsewhere.

It's so ugly I'm surprised the British didnt invent it. OTOH it did work so maybe I'm not surprised.
-
I beg to differ. THey arent ARs, true. But they arent priced like AR's either. And for the kind of shooting most people do with a .223 they'll work just fine. For an HD gun or whatever it would be fine.
-
What barrel do you have on that? The scope and stock are mismatched. The CAR stock doesn't give a lot of solid support, making precision shots difficult. I would have gone with an Ace Skeleton. But then, I did go with an Ace and love it.

Need IWB holster recommendations for...
The Rabbi replied to Magiccarpetrides's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Kramer. For IWB you want the best holster you can get. A cheap/bad one is worse than useless. It will stick into you at the wrong places. I bought one Kramer for a Model 65 3" that was the best holster I ever had once it got worked in a little. Then I had to sell the gun. -
I shot the +P 158gr LHP in my Smith 19. It kicked worse than .357mag loads did. I have no experience with the regular stuff. I'll stick with major manufacturers for carry ammo. I figure they have the testing resources to know whether stuff works or not.
-
I think it was Remington 158gr LHP +P. You called me and ordered it specially.

I thought this was a place for heterosexuals.....

Welcome. Nice to see you made it here. Hope you're enjoying the .38spc I sent you.

I don't understand the question. Are you asking whether people would prefer 2 days' training that incorporates pistol one day and shotgun the next? That would have the advantage of some training in each (a "two-fer") while some of the concepts will cross over anyway. Further 2 days firing a shotgun is going to be tough on most people's shoulders, so there is some relief there. Or are you asking whether it is a better idea qua training to spend one intensive day on shotgun or two more leisurely days? Or what?

What brand of ammunition do you use in your carry weapon?
The Rabbi replied to TGO David's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I typically use Speer Gold Dot in the .357 and .38. In the 9mm I like the Lapua Cepp Xtra.
