  1. That's a beauty Bill. Right place and time no doubt. Enjoy!
  2. I am sure you'll love it. I put one in my XDM just to try to see how extreme I could get it (it was pretty good from the factory, already on the lighter side) and its a huge improvement though it may be a bit too light @ 2.5lbs. Here is another suggestion for you (url is misleading): https://gogunusa.com/products/copy-of-gas-pedal-cg-for-sig-p320
  3. I can offer you some observations based on having a couple G19's and a range of 320's. I'll qualify I love Glocks and 320's, it will come down you preferences, but I don't think its clear cut without knowing what it is you are expecting out of the XCompact assuming you are already familiar with a G19. For example, do you expect it to be feel and carry smaller due to its shorter barrel / slide? There may have been some initial confusion from some who did not realize the Compact and XCompact are not the same in several ways. I have a 320 Sub-Compact which shares the XCompacts 3.6 in length, and like my M&P 2.0 Compact in 3.5", I really like that length for a carry gun. The only issue with the Sig is the beavertail adds to its overall length so you dont realize the full potential of the shorter barrel. And that gets worse with the extended beaver of an X style module. The Glock is a bit slimmer. Even though the X module is narrower than a standard module, its still wider than a Glock compact frame. I have an X module that I had reduced as the original Carry version is bigger than than the standard Medium front to back, including shaving the beavertail down. I think the XCompact will lose a bit in that concealability dept around printing compared to a Glock but more for shape give overall grip length with mag is close. All that said, I call Sig every couple weeks to try to get an XCompact module to run my Sub compact slide on as I only give up the RMR capability, which I would never run on an EDC anyway. I have an X-Carry, and like David, I scratched my head at the rear iron being attached to the plate. The 320 RX Compact with the same length slide has a rear iron, why not standardize? I think pretty much everyone hates that siting all the examples where folks retain them in other brands but made worse when Sigs own 320 shows there was plenty of room. Its just an X thing I guess. And its dumb and a miss. That said....I do not agree with David with regard as that being an issue. The Romeo does in fact have a notch at the rear to serve in a back-up capacity. Its a reduced profile compared to a traditional iron, so its not a fantastic sight picture for bullseye shooting @ 25yds, but they did in fact think of that. Realistically when you factor most real world need to have your EDC will be an engagement of 3 - 5 yards, if your are the guy that needs sights at that distance versus realizing the guy who gets off he first shot is the one surviving to go home....its not a huge issue even if its not ideal based on our wish list. I have Romeo's on my 229 and 320's, and I put one on my FNX45. Its a great $200 RMR and would recommend anyone pick one up when Sig is selling them at half price.
  4. I cant say if you're an oddball or not, but you definitely would not be alone in doing that. I have or have had variants accross a number of brands, Sig, Beretta, Glock CZ, various 1911's, S&W's....and I am sure others that are not coming right to me. If you like a particular gun it seems logical do get a version more suited to a particular use if its offered.
  5. I can only imagine how you must have felt given how horrific those pictures are. And no doubt your baby girl, was blessed to come back to you. Best wishes, glad she made it thru.
  6. I love how easy it is to clean up my SR762. Margic is right on the money, it does carry a more noticeable thump than a DI 308. The only Piston 308 I've run into that didnt act that way was a Galil.
  7. I hear ya. The interwebs + words without tone does loose a bit over conversation. All good. I think of most takedown scenarios are following range time or from storage versus from condition 1, granted that context was not stated. Seemed inferred, but maybe should not have been assumed. Sorry for the disappointment. No free lunches if any gun is cocked and locked IMO.
  8. Boooo. Sounds like this was more pretense and coming from a specific case and wanting to hear you were right for some neener neener points. Not taking the spirit of what I said (which was qualified) as well as real world auto loader practices when someone does field strip to generalize that case to all of them, specifically when its not true. You got me, thought you were actually curious. But.....I'll play I think you wanted to read or portray my last as a blanket agreement or an absolute, yes? (which is what being "right" is all about). For the record. I or anyone could take a completely un-fired stripped Glock and reassemble it, disassemble it, and repeat all day long without ever pulling the trigger. So no, not right. Though this was more for fun, I think we all recognize that any auto loader without a decocker at various points in its life has its trigger pulled when not being fired for a variety of reasons. Doesn't make any of them inherently unsafe unless its in the wrong hands.
  9. Uh oh You are describing a condition where its already partially cocked. We are not talking about the same thing. Meaning the slide has been cycled first. If you go back, you see I am taking about a gun, typically stored and uncocked. If one follows the manual (preceding pics), you had already locked it back fully, visual check with slide lock, and run body parts into the chamber in case your visual inspection was not sufficient (mandated legal languarge ). If you have done this, yes you have to at some point pull the trigger. But most importantly, we are not taking the same situation. We are touching on practices and how we check a firearm, or more importantly last left it after last use. I do not leave any weapon at part or full cock when unloaded. Hammer fired or striker fired, doesnt matter what name is printed on the slide. The assumption here is after you finishing firing a weapon,or cleaning it, after the slide it back in battery it is uncocked via a dry fire (hammer or strike) to be put put back in a range bag, safe, or where ever. For example. I am at the range. I fired the last shot and slide locks back. I drop the mag. Then the slide, and pull the trigger while its pointed down range. I do this with any and all my guns. Same process with post cleaning assembly. Now if you enjoy leaving it with the slide locked back after that last shot, or after a cleaning. This does not apply to you. Nor to someone that fully locks the slide back to run the manual suggested checks for a clear weapon. Not to suggest being unsafe. I check via visual inspection thru an emply magwell, extractor chamber indicator, and press check. But again...that's me. I just like living dangerously according to the gun makers lawyers Now assuming you also have an uncocked Glock that you know to be safe and unloaded....you dont have to pull that trigger.
  10. Oh sure. I wasnt sure if it was just those that dont own Glocks proliferate that hooey. So in this scenario you have your Glock, with knowledge that its magless, extractor down and chamber empty. Safe to let your baby play with it. All you have to do is unload the slide catch, essentially just out of battery an 1/8" of an inch. Some folks bring it back and engage the slide lock or somewhere in between which will partially cock it. Easiest way for me (being a righty) is to hold it in my right hand with thumb against backstrap and fingers over the rear of the slide using the index finger on the rear sight to just nudge the slide out of battery. Barrel hood just dropping under the slide but not moving rearward. Then pull the slide lock down as its no longer under load. Or you can put it muzzle down into the table / cleaning matt and rock it forward to move it out of battery if you have any dexterity issues.
  11. No sir, the context was field stripping and removing the slide. Sorry if that wasn't clear. You can remove the slide from a Glock without pulling the trigger. This assumes you know the condition of your weapon and that its not loaded. And would be familiar with how to know a Glock is not loaded or has one in the chamber. But of course...these folks may still think you need to pull the trigger...so you know....
  12. Everytime I see this issue raised, It seems to always come with the obligatory mention of Glocks. And Of course, a handful sharing their dislike of them. All good, to each their own. It surprises me how many don’t realize it’s all based on a misconception. More accurately a falsehood. Truth is you can disassemble a Glock without pulling the trigger.
  13. Common sense is an oxymoron. That’s why you can make a great living being a lawyer.
  14. Nice! Love that old checkered trigger shoe
  15. I use to get the 18 before I tried some other scotches that were more malt intense. I started to notice the backend of peat the 18 had that wasnt as noticeable in the 15. Couple drops of water handles that 3 years of age in my opinion. I now like the 15 a bit better. But I'd never say no to it if someone force one on me
  16. Appreciate the comments. I've always suspected the hand select option is just a suckers ploy, its never made a difference. A little over 3 years ago I got a completely mint unissued T33, and the blem Galil's from a couple months ago were a deal. Half price and mine only had one small ding in the dust cover that disappeared with a dab from a blue pen. I know what Bill means, I am wary of their "collector" bits and would never buy from them. Couple years ago they had a batch of original minty M1 Carbines they claimed where from a collection and were being sold at a premium. Closer examination showed they had inconsistent parts and a some looked to be refinished. My recent dealing that brought me to ask this, was the recent batch of T33's, and more specifically the customer service side. The video said excellent condition and blued. Condition conflicted with the website but also said blued (original finish is blue) and the nicest they have ever had. I called and they told me the video was right. No mention of them being arsenal frakenguns. Turns out they were arsenal refinished parts guns. The finish was a cheesy parkerizing. I got one with a bad action from a poorly mated slide and it had scuffs and scratches on every surface. I literally mean that. Both sides of the slide, frame sides, back strap and front strap. So I sent a note to CS and they disputed the condition and video, without addressing the finish differences and being arsenal hacks. It just had too much stray for what it was suppose to be for me. They surprise was not the gun as much as how combative their customer service was about it. They had been good about it in the other occasion I had to deal with that kind of discrepancy. After a bit of hassle, they did refund most of my money, but it should have been less of a hassle in my opinion.
  17. Actually I didnt change it to the yahoo address, I signed up with that and have received emails fine until yesterday afternoon following the incident. At the point the spam report hit, when I came back the forum would not let me get in and wanted to to either confirm the email or change it. I hit the send confirmation to find nothing was being either sent or received. At which point I was forced to get a Gmail or stay locked out. I would love to switch it back, but need to see what is either preventing them from getting sent, or blocking them coming in The bigger issue is gmail started showing up in my SPAM folder though it is coming thru somewhere. Those had been coming to my regular inbox this AM after I set up forwarding to my Yahoo box.
  18. Appreciate you gents looking at this. David are you seeing more of these thru the evening or just that initial spam notice earlier yesterday? Reason I ask is I still should see spam emails in my spam folders typically and there is nothing. I think its a software white list / black list deal based on later events. The messages above were before the issue came up. My ipad toggled some emails I did not check which did end up initially marking a TGO item as spam, but I went into spam and deslected so it routed back to the inbox. Following that, I stopped receiving emails and on visiting the site I received an opt in notice, which I did. Visiting later, my account was locked and wanted to send a confirmation email to email on file. Which I did 3 times or so without luck. At that point I was forced to switch to Gmail as it effectively locked my account out and the contact form is disabled. But....now the Gmail emails are routing to spam from the point McGyver PM'd me and the subsequents got sent. That one I or my devices cant take credit for. The big thing is...I want to keep the original email I have used on all other forums for years, just trying to figure out where the actual stop is since I cant see the messages or bounce backs. If there is a later bounce back is there contact info for yahoo as there is nothing I can find.
  19. Thanks for that, PM sent.
  20. Hey folks, I wanted to get ahold of an admin to see if they could fix a glitch in the system. Appreciate any references. The site will not send out emails to my primary address following a spam marking incident. Opted back in, etc, but it locked me out wanting to confirm emails it was not actually sending. Not a spam filter deal on my side, so guessing the site has a do not send list and needs to be removed. For now I had to create a new email to get unlocked. Tried the contact form and msg to tgo_actual, but not sure if those work. Thanks
  21. Unfortunately it is a matter of time until it’s everywhere.the rate they have fallen in line says a lot. They are just Working them in order of revenue. Enjoy it while you can and if you can, make your large online purchases before it’s too late. that shrill noise in the background is the fat lady warming up....
  22. Has anyone noticed change with any recent transactions with our friends at Classic? I've been pleasantly surprised as well as unpleasantly surprised over time. Goes with the territory dealing with surplus. Recently called to their attention some ....liberties lets say...more than the usual ones. And was curious if some have noticed any changes.
  23. You should be happy with that. I had the grip module already so I got the X-Carry upper from Sig before the guns dropped to $580. The upshot is I save a couple hundred and I love the idea of the new X-Compact so I'm going to pick one of those up. Your timing is good, Sig has a great sale on the current Romeo1 @ $199. You should jump on that before they sellout. They had been selling out in hours but its still live as of the time of this post. Its a pretty decent RDS. The new versions will have a more durable top cover and extended batter life, but will be much more. https://www.sigsauer.com/store/romeo1-1x30-mm-no-mount.html
  24. Hola Amigo! Just in case you haven't fully adjusted Enjoy TN.
  25. I see you have a matching pair at the end for the days it requires double fisted guns ablaze. I like how you roll sir!
