  1. Is this just a proposed bill that should be immediately scrapped?
  2. Well, gun ban legislation never really does make sense.
  3. I will post pics when it comes in. It has checkering, but no scroll work. It does not have a letter designation, but by the serial number it is from ‘37
  4. Will do on the Model 81 pics. I do like the .35 Remington cartridge. Also, it’s the cheaper (relatively) of the two available cartridges that the Model 81 came in (the other being 300 Savage)
  5. I will still look for a Marlin 444s as it’s “on the list”. I just need to replenish the fund.
  6. This would look good next to my 1954 Beretta Model 1935. Too bad I have spent all my money on lever-guns.
  7. That was a serious extractor.
  8. I don’t think many of us would be mad at knowing about a gun deal.
  9. Meanwhile, on a small farm in Nebraska, a farmer made a startling discovery
  10. Suddenly, a shot rang out
  11. I still like it
  12. So, does anyone else start off with a plan for a gun purchase, research, follow auctions, bid on auctions, then randomly make a 90deg turn and purchase something else? Or is it just me? I have been looking for a Marlin 444s for a while. I’ve bid on several. I even picked up a box of ammo in anticipation of acquiring one. I even had an active bid on one (thankfully I was out bid), when out of the blue, I purchased a Remington Model 81. My neck still hurts from the whiplash. I’m looking forward to cleaning it up and posting picks. I know it’s not a lever gun (my current obsession) but it is really cool. And it’s in .35 Remington.
  13. Looks like a Deluxe model. I bet if you pull the stock off, you will see a XX stamped on the tang which should denote premium walnut.
  14. I do have a “Marlin” in .35 Remington it is a Sears Model 45 which is basically a Sears Branded 336
  15. Wow! That is a pretty Marlin. I wish had an extra 336 in .35rem instead of 30-30.
  16. When was your property last assessed?
  17. I could see a ban on Sporting rifles extend to all magazine fed semi-automatic rifles. I mean, it makes sense if you are really trying to stop the dangerous use of that style rifle. We all know that, functionality wise, there is not much difference between an AR/AK and a ‘Mini14/30.
  18. And if you want to, you can make it “tacti-cool” (although I personally don’t care for tacti-cool lever guns)
  19. Im contemplating looking for an older Model 81 just to have a semiautomatic “hunting” rifle
  20. Well, a levergun in .357 or 44mag with a 16” barrel would be a good choice. Faster to cycle than a bolt action. An older Remington semiautomatic (model 81 or model 750) in 30.06 or .35 Remington would be good as well. The lever gun in a pistol caliber will hold more rounds.
  21. That’s the freaking truth
  22. I’m thinking a lot if us have that agreement with our wives. If I have a little extra after a sale/purchase, I do try to spend a little on her for the brownie points. I would say to pick up a lever gun, but that may be a rabbit hole you don’t want to fall into. (anyone have a lever gun in Marlin 444 they are looking to part ways with?)
  23. You can just buy my Rossi 44Mag
  24. Rossi R92 in 44mag. Stainless Steel, 20” Barrel. I added a saddle ring. I have put probably 30 rounds through it. I’m guessing it doesn’t have more than 40ish rounds down the pipe. I need to make room for a Marlin in 44mag. $750 located in Nashville. Must be legal to own and purchase a firearm. TN DL or HCP flash. It is the third from the left in the second photo.
