  1. $10 entry. Prices are equal to shops/online sales. Stuff the local shops don't have. They still have them.
  2. Planning to. Had planned to go to Manchester Sunday but got lazy.
  3. From what I read you have the 1911 and could trade for the SA .357? Keep the 1911, feed it heavy loads and go. SA revolvers are great for hunting and very fine handguns. I would not choose an SA revolver for defensive use. The .45 is all you need for small black bears. use solid bullets not hollow points, save the HPs for two legged predators. If it were a DA .357 then it would be whichever you prefer.
  4. I don't envy being "that guy" People expect a lot. But it is nice to be recognized, congrats!
  5. took my two "new to me" pistols to the range Monday. As expected, the huge grip on the alloy framed PT945 was not a tack driver. hard to fathom why the single stack grip frame is larger than my Para P14. The 608 performed excellent and is very easy to hit the zone with on both double and single action. I'm sure accuracy with the 945 will improve as I get used to it, not the first pistol that has given me issues at the beginning for the same reason. Just proves fitment to hand is important. oh yeah, tje 45 kicks like a mule

    S&W 3" 29

that's beautiful indeed. I'm a sucker for unfluted cylinders. Saw a Redhawk 8 round .357 with a 3 inch barrel. tried but missed on it. First S&W 29 I've ever even heard of with non fluted cylinder.
  7. Thanks! Just ordered a pound of titegroup myself. if they were open on Saturdays I'd have gotten 2 pounds and picked it up
  8. sounds like the old airline rules P.S. be thankful it isn't international shipping.
  9. If you head toward Nashville or Murfreesboro this weekend let me know and I'll take 2 pounds.
  10. I do not remember where the term came from. I do know the military never referred to M16 as assault rifle. Wherever it came from it was a misnomer when applied to AR15. just as AK47 is incorrect for what we can walk in and purchase. We have access to the AKM which is modified. I believe the whole idea of the anti gunners is to be vague as Chipman demonstrated so that agencies can interpret it any way they want effectively removing the legislative branch.
  11. oh, Chipman looks like RED's avatar. not throwing shade RED, just pointing out how ridiculous Chipman looks.
  12. Assault rifles are select fire. Select fire is different from automatic rifle in that it can be fired in semi auto. Automatic rifle is a machine gun. We mere civilians are not allowed to have auto or select fire arms without a government issued permit. GCA 1968 needs to be repealed. With the Armalite Rifle 15 being designated AR15 people just assumed it was a civilian model of the M16 main battle rifle. just because it looks like a duck. problem is, it doesn't quack like a duck :}
  13. Same engineers that designed the Kel Tec started SCCY. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. It's on my list.
  14. I have an affinity for Firestar and I wouldn't be embarrassed of whatever I am comfortable with that works. At one point my tackle box gun was a Jennings .22. That one was only dependable with stingers.
  15. I have run two different hollow points through mine as well. It is rock solid. I also have to add, I only own ONE striker fired pistol, being the Browning Baby. I believe in hammers.
  16. one of my kids asked to borrow mine. I knew better
  17. wife wants one a P238. Can't say I blame her.
  18. Free Pygmy goats - free stuff (craigslist.org)
  19. oh Rob, I'd take goats over ducks and geese ANY day.
  20. back to goats. why does every thread lately lead to goats?
  21. right. how do you counter that/ with all the rain it isn't water
  22. had friends in from Pennsylvania a few years back. I dropped part at the golf course while the rest of us went shopping, When I picked them up they were complaining about the clover on the fairways. I explained that we are in Tennessee, we have red clay, if it weren't for the clover the course would be brown or barren. So why won't mine cover the brown spaces where my dogs pee?
  23. since you brought it up. Kel Tec .32 ACP has been with me for over 20 years. I also have a Browning Baby if I need something REALLY small. Both are reliable with the Browning being 100% And the Kel Tec failing once. I did slip my 8 round 4 inch .357 in the pocket of my shorts Sunday not intending to get out of the car. Wound up having to traipse through walmart. we had no issues. carry and concealed comfort are relative to clothing and determination.
  24. Welcome to the semi free. Macon Co is where I call home. I'll move back when I retire. Swing by and tell my brother in law to get his a$$ back here.
