  1. Well, the Burris ar-536 was a bad idea. Eye relief was poor and reticle was canted. Sending back. I have a 1-4x24 Buriz MTAC on the way. I blew budget a bit , so Any thoughts on a sub $50 mount??
  2. On AKs, I don't feel as guilty about adding optics to reach full potential about accuracy. Plus, the kids prefer AK derivatives. ;)
  3. Last year, i sold all of my ak guns, mags and ammo. Sellers regret forces me to consider .556 and AR mag platforms. I picked up the Sig556, but need something a step closer to an AK. I always liked the Galil, but I think mags are not normally AR, Any decent Galil clones that take AR mags? Or maybe another .556 with AR. Ag compatibility? Thx! mark
  4. I have the Sheridan version. Quite accurate and .20 cal hits harder.

    SOCOM 16

I love my socom. I wanted a Scout, but the Socom was $1300 and available. I added a wood stock to liven it up a bit.
  6. Overstock.com with a 15% offcoupon was best price I could find
  7. Knoxville pulled guns. I won't shop there again.
  8. Guys, My wife surprised me with an anniversary present (mossberg MVP varmint 24"). I stole a SWFA 10x42 from an AR and it is a great fit. Now I need optics for the AR. It is 20" flat top. I have aimpoint PRO and EOTech 512 on the others. . This time, I want to run an illuminated optic in the 3-4 magnification range. Ideally, I'd like something that includes any riser/ mount needed. Also, not looking for a high $$ setup. Any suggestions? Thx, Mark
  9. I really like the Ruger m77/22 and the CZ. They are fine rifles. The savage and marlin rifles have great accuracy, but they don't feel the same to me.
  10. I stopped in yesterday. They didn't seem to have much in case qty.
  11. My dad is a huge CZ fan. Last year, I picked up the duty model for him. Ther egos seemed Astros as any of the75s. Recently, I picked him p a tri-star c-100. For $300, it's a great starter model
  12. I picked one up at Walmart for $229. Academy never seemed to have them in stock @$199 advertised price
  13. Guys, I thinking need a crossbow and a bit of ammo. I don't need a premium setup, so I wanted to see if you guys had any best buy suggestions. Thx, Mark
  14. Thanks guys. We backpacked frozen howard earlier in year. I ahead forgotten about campsite.
  15. Anyone have any thoughts on group sites? I need to book a campground in E. TN for Scout trip with Webelos and Troop that can handle 50 boys. Fall creek Falls and Big SothFork are booked. Any suggestions?
  16. For a complete rifle, the Sig556R is the best option. ;)
  17. I have ordered 4 sets from these guys (S&W 66, Taurus 605, Taurus 99 and ruger mk). All fit very well. Finish isn't perfect, but they clean up well. The checkered grips are very nice too.
  18. During the Johnny majors and fat Phil days, the UT fans were pretty bad. I think they are humbled now.
  19. Not me. The AI mag is bit rough during cycle, so I recommend switching for the Ruger poly mags.
  20. I have one and love it. I am running a Leupold scout scope. If you buy one, pickp the Ruger plastic mags. The AI mags dotnt fit as tight
  21. That doesn't look like $200 to me, but will It will more than that in a month.
  22. Given small children, I might recommend a commercial campground in Townsend. For a motel, I highly recommend http://www.townsendgatewayinn.com For a campground, I'd recommend http://www.mistyriverrv.com/ These are the best in the area. misty river is RV focused, but they have great facilities. The townsend gateway is unbelievable. It's a motel, but the accommodations and hospitality are truly the best. I live 45 minutes away, but this place is a vacation. If you stay in Townsend, spend morning in cades cove, the sunset near clingmans dome, day hike in elkmont, visit the aquarium, picnic along little river road, sunset on foothills parkway, Abrams falls hike, take in a smokies game, etc. [/url]
