  1. I work as an Assistant Manager for Walgreens on the overnight shift. Walgreens does have a specific policy barring employees from having weapons on the property. The supposition in the article that they don't take better security measures for reasons of cost is absolutely true. I was notified that I was going to be losing my armed security 4 days after another store suffered an armed robbery. The company moved from posted armed security to "roving patrols" to attain "significant cost savings". That left me with a choice of going armed and risking my job, or being unarmed and taking those significant associated risks. Any Walgreens employee who may or may not make the decision to carry a gun at work should be aware that if they are in a position to have use that weapon, they WILL be fired. I factored that information into my choice. It is what it is. Most workplaces have similar policies.
  2. That one opened tonight. It was awesome. Get the cajun fries, much better than the regular fries. Best burger I've had since In & Out when I was in the PRK. Huey's is gonna lose their spot at the top of the best burger list in the Flyer's Best Of Memphis poll. Sent from my MB511 using Tapatalk
  3. There is one of these up at the gunshop I have been known to frequent, The engravings are awesome and pretty funny.
  4. Crap. Thanks for that piece of intel.
  5. These are very valid points that beg this question; knowing that the root issues lay in departmental policy and training, how do we as citizens effectively give input into the training our officers receive in such a way as to positively impact their fulfillment of their duties? How can we help make our LE agencies better? That, I think, is the real discussion we need to be having.
  6. Buy a Mac?
  7. Not gonna find it under $50 but it is worth the price they are asking. Get the cask strength with a splash of water to bring out the flavors.
  8. The SR9c is also my wife's carry gun as well. I almost got one for myself before I settled on the M&P9c. I would highly recommend either one.
  9. This thread delivers maxlulz! Sent from my MB511 using Tapatalk
  10. Very nice. It is a solid rifle for a really good price. If I wasn't set on doing an ultra light build, I would pick one of these up myself. It has a really good balance and feel with the lightweight barrel. Handling that rifle confirmed for me that the growing resurgence in popularity of the lightweight barrel is with good reason. The bolt had good staking as well (something I always check thanks to my reading at M4C). Next one we get in I will check on the buffer as to whether it is mispec or commercial diameter.
  11. I think the knockoffs are probably the Magpul PTS line that is licensed and made for airsoft usage. Those are made in China. Some of the less reputable folks on ebay have been known to sell them without mentioning that they are the PTS line.
  12. If I remember correctly from the one I handled, it has none of the needed bits on the side of the upper to install a dustcover.
  13. They are 556 as well . We got some of them on order @ Classic Arms and have had one show up already (I am working there part time now, not trying to advertise, just giving some specs on the rifle). They were a special show order if I remember correctly. The items about this rifle that might be of interest. They have a lightweight profile BBL (), no dust cover or forward assist.
  14. It is a good article. If I knew it was that easy to get into arms dealing I woulda quit Walgreens a long time ago. LOL. Sent from my MB511 using Tapatalk
  15. I am in agreement with, MBV over at Sipsey on this subject. With the gun laws we have in place I would rather have the weak, flawed BATFE mucking up enforcement than the strong even more flawed DHS using the full force of the provisions of the Patriot Act against gun owners. I shudder to think how badly that would go for our so called rights. Sent from my MB511 using Tapatalk
  16. LOL, that conversation ain't over by a longshot. Sent from my MB511 using Tapatalk
  17. There are no signs. I do wonder how it being run by the Conservancy (sp?) affects things in regards to posting. Shelby county has "opted out" of carry for all county owned parks. They own but do not run Shelby Farms. Sent from my MB511 using Tapatalk
  18. Whether built into the retail price in a brick & mortar or tacked on the end as a surcharge, trust me you are going to be paying the shipping fees. Sent from my MB511 using Tapatalk

    Ruger SR9c?

Considering the problems Kimber has with their 1911's and that is 95% of what they do, should it surprise you they couldn't make the KPD40 work? It doesn't surprise me that Ruger was able to do with the design what Kimber couldn't. My wife has the SR9c as her EDC. I very nearly bought one for myself until I decided on the M&P. 20. I would highly recommend Dr. Surret(sp?) at Memphis Animal Clinic. It is at the corner of E. Parkway and Central. Excellent facility and great vets. No matter where in Memphis we move, we are still going to take our girls there.
  21. I agree ,at this point this point I would say this thread has devolved into a measuring contest.
