What? So I'm the designated whipping boy today? Fie upon thee knave!
-
That's what I used to do. lol Don't know really what happened, I just stopped having a drink every time we went to dinner somewhere along the way. Never drank much at home, and wife doesn't drink at all. Says she'd like to get into wines, but everyone she tastes...she doesn't like. Just getting old I guess.
-
Not being much of a drinker, actually practically not at all, I really am having fun with this thread. Not laughing at any of you(well maybe a bit), I'm enjoying learning a bit about the whiskeys and bourbons out there. The last I bought was a sample of the Honey Whiskey several years ago. Really didn't like it at all.

Now, think I've settled my part in this cluster, so Ski, if you put this up for sale, I'll be looking at it.
-
You know, this actually started out as a joke. Then several others got involved. Since this might be see as selling/bidding activity, I'm going to stop all this. Will send you a pm.

The Official Range Photo Thread (Prove That You Shoot)

Are you saying my eyes are bad? I'll have you know I can hit that at 50 feet...with a howitzer. Thanks, buddy. I still have mine and don't think I could let go of it. -

Heck...I can do to from that distance! Nice weapons there. Where's the Scorpion? -
And Fuzzy Navels Too, I hope. Yummy!

126. HARRUMMPPH! Written before Moped got involved, but didn't enter fast enough.

You got G2C? Since it's a bad old Taurus, and you obviously have had such a revolting time with them...just sell it to me. I'd give you a 100 for it. lol

Even as negative as I've been on this new Glock, David, you do make some good points. Time and availability well tell which way the wind blows on this one.

No one is a fickle as a gun owner.

Good to see/hear from you again! Love the video on the AR9 pistol and the use of the Law Tactical adapter and folding stock unit. I've been considering that for my older AR9 pistol build to freshen it a bit. I'll have to check out your other sites as well now. Keep up the good work!

I know it's all very personally subjective when looking at/buying a new pistol, especially a carry model. But I just can't see the need for this new Glock. At all. So I agree with Steelharp. Just an attempt to appeal to the market of Glock lovers with a somewhat smaller( very little smaller, at that) Glock carry piece. As I said earlier, I don't like the feel of the P365 for me, and I find myself moving farther and farther away from Glocks. lol Never thought I'd say that. The Shield EZ...maybe. I can see a use for it in people with had strength issues. Like my wife. Still considering that idea for her; but she still like the Smith 351 PD I bought her to replace the 416. Heck, I might like the Shield EZ soon.
-
I don't care for the P365 either. But that's just me.

The G24 in 40 is fun too. But if you really want tohave fun, and wake the neighbors...get a .357 Sig barrel for the G24. It will wake people in the next city and put out a flame that is unbelievable.

Thank you my friend. Since I rarely have any alcohol, I'll have to toast you with a Dr. Pepper. Merry Christmas to you, Raoul.

Thanks for the link. Lots of interesting grips. Not quite an Esmerelda, but neither as elaborate or as high. Thinking about some Super Rosewood for my oldest BHP and my O model Colt.

Well, another year has come and gone and I find myself wondering about the future. Sometimes I feel we are doing great, then I see something happening that convinces me we are going straight to hell at top speed with no brakes. Then I read the content here and realize the caliber of men and women here and see some hope. There is goodness still in this world and it lives on TGO. I see the friendship, the love of God and county, and the sacrifice made by some to keep us all safe. I see belief and faith in God expressed freely and openly in times when it is not always PC to do so. I see and am amazed at the help, love, and concern freely given from member to member, usually without the need to ask. I see the compassion given in times of pain. I see congratulations given in times of joy. All this and so much more. I feel truly blessed to be here, not just on this world and this country, but in the midst of good men. Men I strive to emulate and deserve the friendship of. Lastly, I feel grateful to know and be known by men who expressed concern for me in my prolonged absence recently. For friends like MacGuyver, Steelharp, Bersaguy, TrickyNicky, Kharman, gothegoods, TrippleGGG, prag, and gregintn, just to name a very, very few of the good people here that I can call friend. Yes, I am blessed with a loving, caring, and good wife, who puts up with me and my antics. A family though widespread, that accepts me as I am. A home and reasonably good health. A future that many in this world would envy, and so very much more. So to family, friends, my TGO family, all our military, and first responders, to those who stand in harm's way for others... I wish us all the Merriest of Christmas's and Happy New Year's. May God continue to Bless us and our nation. Amen.

Loved It! Wife did too. She laughed at several places I hadn't expected her to.

Although I personally might have kept the HiPoint, I do see the reasoning in your Taurus purchase. I have several Taurii (lol) and have been chastised over them for years. I have absolutely no problems with them. Got into them when they were dirt cheap and it was all I could afford. I don't regret any of them. I did have to send a Tracker 22 back after I bought it. Accuracy was totally non-existant with it. I sent it back and was sent a new pistol in about 3 weeks. That was about 2008, and the replacement has been fine. Good luck with yours.

As my screen handle suggests, I might have mentioned the BHP, but Leroy's criteria of plastic ruled it out initially. However, I find that my Hipowers, and the related clones; CZs especially, are some of the easiest to shoot pistols I own or have ever shot. Most fun for me? Dang, I want to say the BHP/CZ. But I have been slowly converted over the last 10 years. I find the 1911 platform the absolute boss for me in all metal frame pistols.

JMO. Some favor the Shockwave, others the Sig brace. As Whisper says, either might be seen as a Stock and cause issues with the uninformed. Either can be "shouldered" or held against or in crook of elbow. Personally, I find the Sig awful when used as intended. Hate the wrap around the forearm. That being said, I do have them on 2 pistols. Why? I just don't like the bare buffer tube. Nuts? Probably. Just me. Off on a tangent...I really like the Tailhook Brace by GearHead Works, and almost any MFT stock on a rifle. Enough to pay to use it on a pistol as an SBR? No.

Get a Fed-Ex quote on shipping it back. I've had to send a couple for service recently and they were pretty reasonable.

I had one of their very early 9mm pistols. Got it in a 2 gun trade for another of mine. I thought it to be the most hideous thing I'd ever seen in an autoloader, but I wanted the other pistol and that's all the seller had. It functioned well and was pretty accurate, as far as I could tell. For some reason that I cannot recall, I had to call their CS and ask for help. I was greeted politely and told they would send a pickup order. I received it in 2 days. Sent the pistol in on a Monday morning, and got it back the following Tuesday afternoon. That's service. They had changed the trigger group, cleaned up the rails, and sent me a free magazine. The pistol was flawless after that. I should have kept it. Never had that kind of service from another manufacturer.
