    Shoes???

Can't help you with the current Sketchers, but I did buy several pair from Kohls just after they came out. Probably 7/8 years ago. The ones they claimed to be so great for your feet. The ones that had an almost rounded bottom right in the center of the shoes. I loved them, after I got used to the shape. Like you, when I wanted more, they had been discontinued, and the company was being sued for the claims made for the shoes. There actually was a class action suit brought against them over the advertising claims. I submitted the information and got 80 bucks a pair back on them. Nice, but I'd rather have gotten more shoes. My New Balance are about worn out now, and I've thought about the new ones. So sometime I will check them out.
  2. Thanks guys. That is pretty much what I've been thinking. How to hold and recoil management are big issues on this small platform. As with Defender, I think i'd prefer the 20, but the PSA price is enticing. I keep getting the emails for back in stock, but when I look...they are gone again. I could get the Tactical brace kit for it, but that negates the goodness of the size. lol Plus it's Butt-ugly on the shotty. Garfua, I do have a Mossberg 590 that's several years old, so I would have no concerns on the Shockwave. Just have to find a really good price on one.
  3. I'd like some commentary on the Remington Tac 12 or 20 Gauge shotguns.I'm considering buying one. Really don't know much about shottys, so asking for thoughts and opinions on which is better for all round use. By that I mean home defense, car or truck carry, and which gauge to go for. Thanks for any input.
  4. Amen brother.
  5. I'm on my 4th IWI/IMI pistol and have great confidence in them all. One of the few I've owned that I can honestly say I have never had an issue with in loading, cycling, ejection, and firing. From Desert Eagles, to the aforementioned Jericho, they served me well. Yes they all are to some degree, heavier pistols. They all have been relegated to the position of house gun and range guns. Would I willingly give them up...no.
  6. I saw that as last weekend I think and immediately liked the looks. I am a fan of bob tailed 1911s. Simple as that. Would I buy one? Not at the moment, but it sure is on my list of things to look at.
  7. I bought a Jericho 941 Kit back in the '90s. It had both the 9mm and 41AE barrels and mags. I still have it. Haven't shot it in years, and probably should try to sell it. I actually very likely won't. It's a fairly heavy pistol, especially by todays standards, but it is easy to shoot, and in 9 is very pleasant. Changing to the 41, it becomes a bit harder shooting. Not terrible, but noticably different from the 9. When I purchased this pistol, iirc, the 41AE ammo was around 16/18 per 50 rounds. Then 60%+ higher than traditional 9mm. I bought several boxes at a time, until I had around 1500 rounds put away. I probably have 1000 left. Only a few of the Samson and IWI boxes remain intact. Most of it is in ammo cans. Last year, I purchased a Jericho 45 in the "compact" frame. I like it. Not my favorite non-1911 45, but it's still with me. Guess what I'm saying is that the Jericho line, while being built like tanks, are quite good; and have a certain beauty all their own. I don't think it would be my choice for a first time buyer. Unless you got a great price, or it just reached out and grabbed you and wouldn't let you put it down. That's happened to me...many times. lol And welcome to TGO, Ratchetyclank.
  8. I do shop some items at Wally World, and do like the early to mid-morning time slot. Usually it's just the old crowd, like me, and the serious shoppers. lol Most of the abnoxious teens and the street thugs are still in bed then. I remember when Walmart was a good thing. I am old.
  9. Score today... Lions/Rhinos...1...Poachers...Nil.
  10. Taurus/Rossi have customer service that has been called everything but good. There are always exceptions. But for the most part, it's usually a long and tedious process with them. I won't bore you with my experience with a Taurus Pro in 9mm that was sent in before the "recall" of a few years ago. It definitely was not what I expected, but did turn out to be good for me. My FFL raised so much hell with them over it, that I was sent a much better pistol. A 5" competition piece in place of the Pro model. During that time frame, the mass of people began to see things about the recall. I know a few that still haven't got a pistol. CS says..It's just about ready to be sent out. lol
  11. Hmmm. Raging Hornet? I could like that. lol I have a Tracker in 22/22mag. Thought I'd love it, but find it sitting in the safe all the time. Just doesn't seem to get my attention. I really enjoy revolvers, but rarely shoot it after having it replaced by the selling dealer. The first one had so many problems that Greenbriar G&L just gave me a new one. Of course this was back about 2010.
  12. Why? Just because I was looking at the PSA ads a telling myself that the prices on compatible complete uppers and lowers make a great deal of sense to purchase? LOL I will try not to add another one. But the ad sure is tempting.
  13. I DO NOT need another rifle. LOL Maybe someday.
  14. I've loosely followed your problems with Rossi. I'm appalled at the total lack of help you have gotten. I have an old Rossi 44Spl revolver and a nice 38/357 rifle. I really, really hope I have problems with them. I'd probably have to chuck them in a lake if I experience what you have with yours. 2 1/2 years since this started. You truly are a patient man.
  15. Local charities only for me.

    Sig P365

Ok...I know it looks like I'll be very much in the minority here with this comment. I didn't like the P365. I base that on holding the pistol. I just did not like the feel. Yes, that's my first criteria...how it holds and fits in my hand. I'll stick with my Shields. Just my personal opinion. And I didn't like the Glock 19X either. lol
  17. Well, I've had a few DeWalt and Bosch battery drills and give the Bosch a bit of an edge. No trouble with either until my garage was flooded in '13. Chargers and batteries for both were badly damaged and not repairable according to service techs from DeWalt center locally. I did get a smaller Bosch and it meets my few needs these days. I have been hearing and seeing so much about the Battery-powered trimmers, and have been interested. While walking thru Home Destroyer with the wife earlier this week, I found myself looking at the Ryobi products. Found one of the 40 volt trimmers at 119. Being the impulusive guy that I am...it came home with us. I haven't tried it yet. Not allowed to at this time. Still on restrictions from hernia surgery. I'll comment on it when I do get to try it out. I do agree with rugerla1 on the Shindaiwia . Total brutes. But for one reason or another, I gave mine to a family member and never replaced them. Until this spring, I'd been using a gas Echo. Liteweight, but did most everything I needed.
  18. St. Jude does unbelievable things with the donations they get. It's one of the 5/6 charities I donate to on a regular basis.
  19. I certainly would hope they have the fortitude to do it.
  20. Yes...it will be...uh...interesting to say the least. I was listening to Michael Del Jorno yesterday and this was one of his topics. He opined that the Democrats and far left liberals would have a major meltdown over just this possibility. Anything that they have delayed and fought in in past will seem to be a kindergarden fight compared to getting another conservative approved.
  21. The 75 frames were available in 40. But the 40 is not often found. I've heard of a few, and only seen one. But that's just in my looking. Others have may seen more than me.
  22. Yes, the trilogy with Gingrich is on my "get to" reading list.
  23. A great novel! It's been many years since I read it. That's one that deserves a re-read. I'll have to see if I still have a copy. If not, I might just go searching on Amazon. lol
  24. One Second After was one of the most chilling books I have ever read. I think it gives such a stark vision of what could actually happen to all of us in such a cataclysmic event. All the visions of post nuclear life are often so far-fetched in writing, that they are almost totally unbelievable. But the stark reality of people in a day-to-day situation as this novel portrays is far worse, at least to me, than all the zombie and apocalyptic novels I have ever read. I have yet to read the 2 books that continue the story. Really don't know why, maybe it just affected me so that I don't want to revisit that family. I have read all manner of books in my life; from history, historical fiction, the alternative history type novels, military fiction, and all sorts of syfy. For me, the most terrifying stories I have ever read were...first the original Alien novel. It was chilling. Peter Benchley's Jaws. Great book, but now I hate water. MacCarthey'sThe Road was so completely devoid of hope for humanity, that it had it's own brand of...well, not terror, but some darkness so complete that I could not sleep after reading it. I would probably never read it again. And my list would have to include Day of Wrath. As SWCUMBERLAND almost said, it is a vision of a ...then possible stark reality that has now become almost a complete truth. Almost, not quite there yet, but the school shootings are coming close. And of course, the one I started talking about...One Second After. I apologize for the length, but I seem to have gotten a bit wound up this afternoon.
  25. Taylor Anderson's Destroyermen Series. A little light syfy action about a WW1 destroyer transported to what seems to be another world. Sounds goofy I know, but it's actually quite good. Written by a retired naval officer.
