  1. Totally right on all three posts guys.   Without media, I refuse to call it "news" coverage, the great masses wouldn't even know something was happening. This is an effort to shore up his declining popularity ratings. Just like the phone giveaway to bring attention to the flagging insurance signups.
  2. Old stuff that I just found a cd of. The Ides of March. Chicago/BS&T-like group from the early 70s. Their big hit was Vehicle, followed by Superman. Lead singer by the name of Jim Peternik, who later had hits with Survivor--Eye of the Tiger, and some middle of the road soft rock.   Anyway, always liked them.
  3. Gives a whole new meaning to "Plug 'em."
  4. This thread stinks!!
  5. Good detective work there. Hope there's no paternity issues involved.
  6. Seems to me anyway, that's the norm for most public auctions. Especially if it's for a popular product.
  7. Wow. Thanks, Spots. Wouldn't have thought it possible. But if it could be done one the Forrestal, I guess it would be easier on the newer generation carriers. Thanks for the video link. And btw, I really enjoy taking them to wherever else they might lead. You get to see some really interesting things that might otherwise be missed.
  8. I do have to admit that Denise Richards may have gone a bit too far, but still rather like her. But that's the wonder of all shapes and sizes.
  9. Hmmm. Were you by chance the inspiration for the snake bite scene in Justified in the 3rd season? You remember? When one of Boyd's guys was brought in with the snake head still attached to his cheek.
  10. Agreed. John Clark was an excellent character in Clancy's novels. Rumors in the book circles had it that Clancy was going to do another featuring Clark. Guess we'll never know.
  11. Check with an attorney and find the limitations here, we really gotta get this story. It just has so many images that demand explanation.
  12.     Erik88/TMF you perverts. Besides which, they are too small, droopy, and floppy. But she is a cute little bit of video fluff.
  13. Hey, so I'm weird. It's the little things that make it enjoyable and "believable". Totally agree with you on Starship Troopers. One of RAH"S better novels made into a joke actually. But still watchable, if just to drool over the weaponry.
  14. Tom Clancy was a great writer. Sometimes a bit long-winded, but knew how to spin a tale. I've read almost all of his works and enjoyed all. My personal Favorite Read is a tossup between Red October and Patriot Games.
  15.   Thought of those assist rockets, unfortunately after I posed this.   Now how did it get on the carrier in the first place? Seems like even with hooks and arrestor line it would be too large.   I know, I'm trying to assign reality to fiction.

    Need to vent

I'm sure you've already checked the exhaust vent opening outside the house. That has been the biggest problem for us in the last 11 years here. Birds just love to nest in there.
  17.   Lester, you may be the closest to dangerous around tools and worksites kinda guy I've heard of. Except for me, that is.   BE safer, my friend.
  18.   Really? I would have thought that would impair his defensive capabilities.
  19. Different, that's for sure. A little too flashy for my tastes.
  20.   This just gets better and better!   You must tell the whole story.
  21.   I snorted my breakfast up!!   What the hell did you do????
  22.   We are in total agreement on this. Very poor rendition of the book. Pretty much an adaptation of the Outbreak and Contagion movie stories. At least that's the way it seemed to me.   Yep the CGI work was pretty good. At least I think so. It was all run at such speed that I found it difficult to really appreciate it.   One, of several, things that puzzled me in the movie though was the scene with the C130(?) taking off from the carrier. Maybe I'm wrong, but that seems a little far-fetched.
  23.   Ratfink, I had a model 32(?) in 357sig for a time. Bought it cheap, intending to keep it, but ended trading it on a Sig P220 Dark Elite. Anyway, my point is that it was a pretty good pistol. The Glock framework didn't tame the cartridge and better than any other though. It wasn't unbearable, just pretty stout in the small frame.   With your hand size, I think you might have approved of it.
  24. Found a frayed or mouse chewed spot on an electrical cord to my stereo receiver on night. Thought this is no big deal. I'll just cut the end off and put on a new plug rather than splice the cord. So I went and got a plug end, screwdriver, knife to trime the line ends, and a pair of wire cutters to cut the old plug off.    Now rather than move everything from the cabinet I had it sitting on, I decided to sit on the floor and do it there.   Got my tools in line, picked up the cord, and calmly cut it, ready to put the plug on.    Melted the ends off the wire cutters, fried my receiver, and knocked my ass across the floor.   I forgot to unplug it.  :stunned:  :squint:
