Bring your popcorn.... TR goodness in this thread.

Well said. If nothing else, awnser a serious complaint like this quickly, quietly, and humbly; ensuring that a dissatisfied customer will not cause you to lose far more than one class fee. -
Normal range session for me has been to take 3 guns. Usually a 45, 9mm or 38, and a 22. Lately its been 50-75 rounds of 45 with one of my 1911s, and about the same with one of the 9s. Which usually is the G19 or one of the Hipowers. But I've been enjoying the SW model 10/15/66 so much I've started cutting back on the 45. And since I picked up the SP101, I've been shooting even more 38/357. I usually try to finish off with a hundred rounds of 22 in either a revolver, SW417, or one of the rugers.

Yeah. Looking forward to 60 degrees again.

Never seen a Potter or a Rings movie. Don't really think I care.

Very nice work, Drew. Your in-flight shots of the air shows are terrific.

Just another tag-a-long awnser. Wilson Combat 47D. I've had issues with almost every factory 1911 mag at one time or another. None withe the 47D.

In a word...No. Trade a functioning pistol for one that doesn't? Never.

For the benefint of us old codgers, what is a Kenny Powers and who decided he's funny or worth wasting time watching?

Keep the XD. Think twice about the P250. If you really want it then, save a little longer, and have both a good carry/range gun and a good smaller concealed carry for lighter/less clohing carry.

Ain't ingenuity a wonderful thing?

Hope this isn't too off line here. I' have to agree about the CZ527 Carbine. I've been drooling over one in a local shop. Looks good. Feels absolutely great in my hands. Just having a hard time justifing buying another rifle that will in all likeyhood just sit around after firing a couple of mags. But still....

This is just asinine. I foolishly thought that one massive devaluation of home and property values would cause a little sense to be forced into the government and banking industry. I see I was totally in error.

Good take on the issue. I hve 2 9mm revolvers; a SW( forget the model number at the moment) and a recent Taurus 9. They are both very accurate, at least as much as I can be, and fun to shoot. Felt recoil is more pronounced in both, feels more like a 357 round in them, and cleanup is a little more necessary. Seems to me that the 9mm cartridge is much more dirty than 38/357 rounds. Always seems to really foul up quickly.

Yes, they do and are. Dang them! Especially David! I was in there yesterday and it was very painful. I left considerably lighter of bank account. But did get a nice SS Ruger SP 101 with CTC Grips.

I like what you said, memphis. Seems like I always take a revolver with me when I go to the range. An old model 10 or 15, or even one of the little snubbies. It just seems comfortable and fun to shoot, as you say, like an old friend. But my dearest old friend is still my Belgian Browning Hipower.

Checked out the DB9 this afternoon at D&T. Like the feel of it, definitely more so than the PF9. No slide lock or external safety. Don't really know why, but the lack of a slide lock bothered me. Fit and finish are fine to acceptable. The little gun seems very tight and well made for the latest piece of plastic on the market. And the size is really good. Comparable to the LCP, perhaps not as comfortable for me to hold. Anyway, it's another in the line of trying to produce the perfect smallest/biggest caliber possible combo. Didn't care for the PF9, too snappy for my taste. Don't like the PPs 40 I bought...same issue, only worse. I'm intrigued by the DB9, not enough to buy right now. Would like to shoot one first.

Now this I can agree with! But seriously, as others have said, it can be a good "trainig ground" for you to get used to the idea of being publicly and lawfully armed. It will probably feel awkward, at least it did to me about 16 years ago, but it's a good first place to go. You might have the tendancy to always be patting your hip to be sure it's still there, or checking every mirror you go by to see if the "bulge" can be seen. And probably feel like everyone in the store is watching you, waiting to yell out "He's got a GUN" But if you're just calm, normal and act like you always do, you'll be fine.

Congratulations on your retirement. I hope it is all you hope it to be. An many thanks for your service. Please don't forget us here when the big move takes place. After all, the internet does reach into the Florida retirement communities doesn't it?

I'm too old, fat, and slow to be running in this heat, but I have started walking every morning. But this morning was absolutely miserable. Hot and humid. And the air was so thick it's like trying to breathe under water.

I'm not so ure I qualify as someone with good common sense; but I have found myself more and more attracted to wheel guns in the last several years. I seem to shoot a little better with them, at least with 3in or longer barrels. And at least for me, carry is much easier with a j-frame or similar gun. The safety and relaibility issues also enter into the equation as well. I've bought several Smith's lately, and just picked up a couple of Ruger SP101's chambered in 357 mag, one with a CTC grip. Don't think I'll ever give up completely on autoloaders, but the wheel guns are definitely making a comeback.

Good thing for Mila to be doing for the Sgt, and for herself. How many B-list actresses can say they've been to the Marine Corp Ball for their resume?

Had an original IMI Desert Eagle in 44 Mag for probably 14 years. In that time, I probably shot300 rounds thru it. It's a fun range toy, and viable as a hunting gun; but contrary to Hollywood hype and Mall Ninja nabobs, it's really not a practical handgun. Great to look at, fun to shoot the occasionaly mag or two, but you can't carry the thing without a good tanker holster and strong back or a thigh holster and belt with suspenders. No, I'm not dissing the gun. I enjoyed it for a while, then put it in the safe. Finally traded it 2 years ago for a Springfield Loaded Champion Operator and haven't really regretted it. Sure, I'll see one and remeber how cool it looks and how everyone wants to hold and fire it when I went to the range with it. But it's not really practical for 90%+ of us. As far as reliablility, I never had a single issue with it. Cambered and ate everthing from stock Rem loads to some really hot custom loads I got from a guy who hunted with his. Probably wouldn't turn down a steal on one, but doubt I'd go activiely searching for one these days. From my experience, the 357/41/44 models all are the same frame and slide combo, just different barrels. I believe the 50 had a heavier frame and slide. Now if you want one, go for it. No scarcasm implied here.
